So I think my overall feeling of remaking improv pieces is, meh, not so much. I like all the original ones better, mostly. There is some interesting aspects to re-recording improv with more structure, but just doesn't have that original dirty in the moment aspect to it. The random pitch change effect was still done again with an audacity time track before final render, still haven't found the best way to reproduce that effect in Cakewalk yet. Fun process though, onward to new ideas and experiments. The original post was,

All of my pieces start out as improvs. Most end up gaining more structure (sometimes over a period of months or even years) and benefit from it. But sometimes the original really can't be improved.

In this case I prefer the purity/simplicity, tone and imaging of the first one.  The detuning is very cool.   Well done!

this sounds wonderful....

but i think, the issue with pure improv, is that most people want to hear 'structure',

and unless you're writing background music for some film,

it tends to just wander...

love the way this sounds,

my only suggestion is to write a 'standard' song format, using the best parts of the improv,

and repeating them as in verse and chorus and bridge,

not because you should,

but because you can.
