  1. Groove3 has some tutorials on the older Sonar Platinum still relevant IMO.
  2. Can't we put it at the end of the plugin chain and manually adjust the EQ, compression, limiting etc to keep the mix on track? I do this with sonible true:balance that, IMO, is similar to this fella.
  3. I'm waiting for the next synth stack. It'll probably include all the new releases and some.
  4. $31 here with 4EVA29 ๐Ÿ™‚

    Sonnox Claro

I paid $29 directly from Sonnox some five months ago ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. I was planning to get my AAS Multiphonics CV2 upgrade sometime later this year but I couldn't resist and, in order to get the Cluster Flux plugin, I bought it from Plugin Boutique. But I'm having trouble to create an account at the Moog Shop site. I cannot get the confirmation email and there's no "send again" button on the account registration page. I sent a request to the Moog support but it seems that there's nobody home there. ๐Ÿ™„
  7. The quality of Softube emulations is top notch and I have no doubt that this will be another winner. But I already have a P5 emulation surely on the same level (u-He Repro 5) and if it was only for the synth I could pass this one. But as I'm also a fan of Softube Modular IMO the individual components turns this into an obligatory purchase. I hope some day I can have an entire Roland System-700 inside Softube Modular.
  8. Same here, plus MiniFreak V. But my crossgrade is $49.
  9. Also a happy Metric A/B user here. I put true:balance as the penultimate plugin in my mastering chain, just after smart:limit and before Metric A/B. This makes true:level redundant (i have it but never use it) because you have all the same level monitoring in smart:limit.
  10. Just upgraded from RX7 Standard to RX10 Standard for $66.36 from JRR shop with code GROUP
  11. Among the AI mixing tools smart:comp2, smart:EQ3, smart:limit and true:balance are my current favorites, along with Ayaic COS Pro and Mix Monolith. I haven't used any of the pure plugins yet so I cannot say anything about them . But this smart:reverb is my less favorite. among those tools. Given the quality of Sonible's software I probably just need to learn how to use it properly but the last time I had the opportunity to do that I ended up preferring iZotope's NeoVerb instead. I found it easier to use and got better results IMO.
  12. Espen Kraft made a very harsh criticism when comparing the Roland JX-08, the boutique version of the JX-8P synthesizer in the video bellow and said that this PG-8X emulation is better than the boutique synth. I don't necessarily agree with his opinion but it's funny to see the joke he made in his final comments.
  13. Bapu, the only IK libraries I have installed on my main computer are the Miroslav Philarmonic. I don't know if that's the case but I suppose the installers for the sound libraries are similar. I would try to uninstall the IK Product Manager and delete the contents of the IK Product Manager folder in C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\IK Product Manager That's the default path on my machine. According to this site (https://tinyurl.com/sk3nz5w9) โ€œRoamingโ€ is a sub folder of โ€œAppDataโ€. Into that folder might be placed things like default templates, configuration files, and other support data that applications might use Maybe the corrupted file is being kept there and cannot be overwritten. Sorry if what I'm talking is super obvious to you. It happens that I already had problems with leftovers from other programs that I had to wipe out to be able to redo a clean installation. I hope this helps. Edith reminded me that the AppData folder is normally hidden.
  14. The standard method of taking impulse responses we learn on the engineering course have the presupposition that the system being measured is linear and time invariant. The problem with distortion is that it's non linear by definition. To my knowledge Acustica has a way to overcome this in their impulse response modeled plugins. Maybe the Waves programmers are also smarter than newly graduated engineers and have a way to implement distortion sampling in Q-Clone but I don't think that's the case.
  15. In the end I decided to save those $15 and bought Clarity Vx. It was as if I got it for $15 too ๐Ÿ˜€
  16. I upgraded Waves Central in order to install my legacy v9 plugins (from an offline installer folder that I downloaded last year) and everything went fine. My few v14 plugins were marked with the "upgrade" option on WC (as if they were not up to date) but I ignored this and just installed my old v9 plugins. Today, when I logged into my Waves account, all this v14 plugins are marked as "latest version" on the site. I haven't run WC yet to see if my v14 plugs went "latest version" on there also. Maybe it was the new status of the Waves online store (with individual plugins back on sale) that changed anything.
  17. The 2 plugins I'm interested for some time are Clarity VX and Playlist Rider and both at $29.99 right now. I was waiting for a better price but after all this recent convolution I think I'll not see this happening. Maybe it's time to bring my waves WTB plugins to the top of my shopping list again.
  18. As it's half the current price of Clarity VX I think is useful to watch this video:
  19. $29.99 each ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜‘
  20. I have iZotope RX7 but a more fair comparison would be with the ๐Ÿ’”Waves๐Ÿ’” Noise reduction plugins. I have the impression that the noise reduction algorithms on this plugins are always the same: a big number of expanders implemented via FFT with thresholds calibrated by a noise sample. But the vinyl clicks and crackles would require some DSP tricks and I think that every developer will do this in a particular way. Anyone ever cared to compare? Edith said to me that the individual plugins sales at $30 are back on the Waves site!!!
  21. As you have everything I'd say that if you keep using the waves plugins you'll be in fact choosing the alternative of the alternatives. One step beyond the revolting crowd and still happy. ๐Ÿ™‚

    WUP is back

I'm worried 'cause the Upgrade options were not back. This was my preferred way to WUP without WUPing.
  23. Well... back to my original plan. I'll upgrade to Mercury at the right time. I don't see any reason to stop using the plugins I paid for while they are working fine on my system. And since I started buying waves years ago I never had a plugin from them not working on my (Windows) machine. YMMV.
  24. Exactly! Nothing wrong with software subscriptions. But at least they should give a way for existing customers to keep their investment from all those years. As I said before I never WUPed or even planned to WUP but an upgrade to a Mercury bundle was always in my plans.
