  1. This is the kind of 5D chess AI can't engage with, which is why we'll never lose our jobs.
  2. And it also has wasted space occupied by that stupid TMT thing nobody uses.
  3. Now compare how complete the one on the page is versus the PDF you can only get by following some obscure link. And you don't get any access to that PDF if you want a more comprehensive comparison of features.
  4. Considering there are no signs of that software appearing any time soon, that's more than correct. It doesn't matter who owns what if the software is not available for purchase or use outside of people who already own it or acquire it using "illegal" (you can't lose profits from a software you don't sell licenses for) means.
  5. They most likely don't. z3t4 and other stuff was developed by rgc:audio. Although rgc has been proudly displaying that "Coming Soon" message on their website for several years now and nothing came yet. But you also have worse offenders, like TH3. Overloud stopped selling TH3 licenses long ago to focus on TH-U and...F-U to whoever wants the full version of TH3 cause you can't get it. And I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with the official licensed stuff that comes with the plugin because the free version bundled with CbB still have the official THD Univalve model in it and it's also present in TH-U...And the funny part is that THD has discontinued both amps TH3 and THU have.
  6. Mine is also 389.35. The only plugin I have from them is UltraChannel. Maybe I should've kept my eyes focused when they had QuadraVox for free some years ago.
  7. This is what I'm talking about, but Steiberg doesn't hide theirs in a PDF file on an obscure CDN domain. They're right in their website as shown here: https://www.steinberg.net/cubase/compare-editions/ And those are also the same for Wavelab, Dorico and other apps they have with multiple versions.
  8. GeForce Experience is not necessary to use any nVidia card if you're not fiddling with the settings or using Shadowplay.
  9. And...That menu seems to be tied to the "Category" and "Manufacturer" options rather than what it should be, which is tied to the current layout. I went to the "Manage by Category" layout, noticed VX-64 and PX-64 were disabled. Once I enabled them, now they show up in the layout I made. WTH.
  10. First thing I would check is your nVidia apps. They love to process stuff in the background without your consent. I have a nVidia card I only use for CUDA stuff and I only install the drivers. I don't need things like GeForce Experience or Shadowplay. That's what the primary AMD card is for.
  11. The issue at hand has nothing to do with me wanting to add new plugins. What I want to do is create specific layouts where only a subset of plugins are shown for several reasons. In the screenshot, I made a layout which is only consisted of stock CbB plugins rather than all 200+ plugins I have installed. The right click menu is not something I have control over and in theory should correctly list whatever plugins are available in the current layout, which is not the case.
  12. Despite what it may look like by looking around, a good portion of people that work in the audio industry are not technical people. They just want something that works and is stable. You might still find people running old pre-HD version of Pro Tools on ancient PCs and Macs because it works for them and they don't feel the need to change to new and shiny hardware and software. CLAP at the moment promises a lot, but it doesn't promise backwards compatibility and that will turn most heads away from it. REAPER is developed by two people which do essentially updates when they feel like it and when they deem necessary, as opposed to a team of people with several hundreds of people that came from older versions of the software breathing down their necks when new features are implemented whilst old bugs still exist. Apple also dictates what AU plugins and cannot do and I'm yet to see people complaining about it. Same goes for ProTools and AAX. I would be very careful when citing Linux plugin formats as examples. The Linux version of REAPER doesn't support LADSPA, DSSI or LV2 along with Tracktion Waveform and there's a very good reason for that. Linux people love the reinvent the square wheel. Many of those plugin formats don't play well with each other and can cause instability. Then you'll also run at people constantly nagging for their favorite plugin to be made in another format because of some arbitrary reason, which is why the few companies which make plugins for Linux (like u-he) only offer VST3 and nothing else. Those are promises that, in the modern world of software development, are usually lies. If you consider that one of the bullet points for CLAP is supporting modern hardware, there's no guarantee you'll get the same backwards compatibility other formats have. Remember that audio people prefer stability over new features and the whole programming mindset of solving performance problems by upgrading your hardware is not a thing. If by dozens you mean five, than yes. Despite the whole pessimism this reply might display, more plugin formats would help in a sense, but I wouldn't be holding my breath for any of the companies u-he said are looking into CLAP. That's probably a PR reaction and I don't see how a company like Avid would change to an open plugin format after spending who knows how much money creating AAX, for example.
  13. Are you talking about the sale or just the regular upgrade? If the latter, you have two options: you can either upgrade to Artist 6 or to Professional 6 from whichever version you have. (I have Artist 2 which I got when they released it and had it for 20 bucks as a NAMM sale.)
  14. Because it requires iLok to be used and the whole workflow made to be used with external gear and tape machines don't work well with my fully in the box setup. Plus the way they handle audio drivers and the documentation is crap. EDIT - Although....I am tempted after looking at what Intro has added. More plugins like the Lite version of Eleven and their Sansamp PSA-1 emulation. Sure, you lost UVI Falcon (which came with First), but still. And you can run your own AAX plugins as well.
  15. Depending on how much all these add-ons combined cost, you're better off buying an interface which comes with an Artist license. I can't say for sure because the store from MyPresonus doesn't allow you to change the region and only displays prices in my currency and the website has decided it wants to not respond to any clicking I do unless I open crap in new tabs. Granted, that leads to the shop anyways and it automatically changes to my currency.... Although it's a bit hard to determine because, unlike Steinberg, they don't offer you a detailed comparison table which lists everything that's included in either version.
  16. The SSL plugins probably use a 3D rendered interface, just like the IK stuff.
  17. It's cheaper processing wise to just reload the plugin rather than keep it in some sort of cache. What is kept is probably the plugin state, as it happens when you save track presets.
  18. The one plugin he constantly uses is Abbey Road Chambers. The saddest one of those is Andrew Scheps. He doesn't even use his own plugin afaik. The only places where he does so is when he has to talk about it or teach something about it.
  19. There's only one issue with Offline Help that I can see. If you already have it installed and remove CbB, you have to reinstall it again, otherwise you won't have access to it despite the installer claiming you already have it installed.
  20. The sad part is that some of those "special" plugins were not developed by Cakewalk, so whether or not they can put it on CbB is up to whoever owns it. rgc audio has been "coming soon" for at least two centuries and nothing so any hopes of a Z3T4 return are uncertain. Overloud is on the greed train IMO as you can't even buy a TH3 license anymore, yet they won't provide a full version of TH3 for CbB. And so on.
  21. It's also important to note that it took ages for people to standardize on VST3 and that's just a version increase of an industry standard! The same went for ProTools and its RTAS/TDM to AAX.
  22. Then you'd have plugins which leak memory instead of just crashing...But they'd call it a feature!
  23. Cakewalk by Bandlab is equivalent to SONAR Platinum in terms of license, so you can simply open your SONAR Professional projects in there without any issues. Even the plugins will work.
