  1. @msmcleod Has Cakewalk changed its use of Webview2 runtime? In the following thread, @Jesse Jost explains "For clarification, the WebView2 component is necessary for sign-in because it supports the modern web. (~omission~) Due to account authorization and product activation, not having this runtime is not an option."
  2. Seems you missed my comment, so I write it again. The Webview2 component is required for Cakewalk activation. Sorry, this was outdated information.
  3. The Edge WebView2 component is required for Cakewalk activation. (Sorry, this was outdated information.) If I remember correctly, it's a required component starting with Cakewalk version 2021.01
  4. Oops, seems we were writing at about the same time and looks like my comment wasn't necessary. Sorry, @David Baay
  5. This comment (and topic) below may give you a hint. (I thought @David Baay suggested based on this.)
  6. I suspect that your currently installed version of Cakewalk is too old for the update to work from the help menu. If I remember correctly, you can run the Cakewalk Installer to overwrite install the latest version without uninstalling. (Sorry if I'm misremembering...)
  7. Download and run Cakewalk Installer instead of BandLab Assistant. Cakewalk Installer can be found at https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk
  8. This is my personal perception. If only the track name is highlighted, that track simply has the focus with the track selected, and some shortcut key operation will operate on that track. If the track number is highlighted, it is a little more complicated. If you click on a track number to highlight it, clips (Audio or MIDI) in that track are selected, and the other way round, if you select clips, the corresponding track number is highlighted. Furthermore, if the selected clips spans multiple tracks, all corresponding track numbers will be highlighted. (When there is a selection in the time ruler, these behavior gets even more complicated...) I think you need to get a sense of it through actual experience.
  9. Are you using USB 3.0 devices such as thumb drives? If so... High-frequency noise generated by USB 3.0 devices may affect devices using the 2.4 GHz band, such as the following Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) IEEE 802.11b/g/n Bluetooth 2.4 GHz wireless peripherals (mouse, keyboard, etc.) The solution to this is, for example... Separate the USB 3.0 port from the receiver Use a USB extension cable to separate the USB 3.0 port from the USB 2.0 connector Replace with a shielded device to reduce noise Connect the receiver to the USB 2.0 port
  10. If not updated, the activation may expire even earlier. In any case, there is no need to worry until a paid version of Cakewalk Sonar is released.
  11. @TheSteven I tried updating my sub PC as well and this did not happen. It happened only on my main PC. Strange...
  12. After installing 2023.09 Update 1 build 75, the workspace unexpectedly changed to "Basic". It was previously set to "None". Anyone elese? Just me?
  13. After installing this update, the workspace unexpectedly changed to "Basic". Anyone else? Just me? I was a little surprised at the change in appearance.
  14. Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth is no longer supported in the latest Cakewalk 2023.09 Have you tried TTS-1 instead? It's GM2 compatible.
  15. I guess it will update a local help file which you can see with pressing F1 key (or Help > Documentation) when the "Always Use Local Help" option is enabled in the preferences (File - Advanced).
  16. Launch CbB > Open Help menu > Click "Check for Updates" If you don't have the latest Studio Instruments Suite on your PC, a toast should pop up to download it, I guess.
  17. CbB has the SI-Drum Kit. (Studio Instruments Suite must be installed)
  18. It can be achieved with Using control groups or Quick Groups.
  19. If you don't know how to make the buses appear in the track view, hit Shift + B (Show/hide Bus pane) or click the up arrow at right-bottom in the track view header. And you can also drag the bus pane out by dragging horizontal line at the bottom of the track header up.
  20. @Jonathan Sasor Sorry this is unrelated to the topic, however, for what is the subdomain taylor.cakewalk.com I see occasionally these days? Just curious, but I'm curious...
  21. Good idea. At the very least, it would be nice if the 180 day countdown did not start for libraries that have never been downloaded. Unfortunately, I was unaware of this policy and have a library that has gone 180 days without being downloaded once. When I found out about this system, I screamed "D**n it! F**k you, as**ole"
  22. Platinum and Professional are not the same when compared based on the core program alone, excluding plug-ins and add-ons. There's only one difference that I remember but at least Professional didn't have a "Plug-in load balancing" option, it was for Platinum only. From that perspective, CbB is based on Platinum's core program. P.S. It seems the dithering options for Pow-r 1, 2, and 3 were also only available in Platinum.
  23. Japanese iZotope dealer are negotiating with headquarters for an MPS 6 upgrade pass, available only to those who purchased MPS 5.2 in Japan between March 2 and July 31, 2023. If this is to happen, it should be done worldwide!
  24. Am I a loser for not jumping on this deal before the word "August" was added?
  25. Just purchase the upgrade to MPS 6 on JRRshop for $41.16 (with code GROUP)! You will get a MPS 6 serial that you can enter in the Product Portal of iZotope! I purchased MPS 5.2 in July, so does not appear to be eligible for this special price... 😭
