  1. They still work here. Does the scan toast show up after clicking the scan button? Is the project load notification enabled in preferences?
  2. Consider disabling the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth in Preferences > MIDI > Devices. Especially if it is the only MIDI output device. When there are no MIDI output devices enabled, the DAW will automatically add and setup TTS-1 when opening MIDI files. TTS-1 is a GM compatible softsynth bundled with Cakewalk. Add the Akai LPK25 as a MIDI input device. To test the keyboard create a new project from the start screen or File > New add TTS-1 using the Add Track menu (see the section on creating instrument tracks) set the track input to the Akai LPK25 and enable input echo (the button to the right of the record button in the track strip) play the keyboard TTS-1 should play its default piano sound.
  3. V-Vocal was a product made by Roland that Cakewalk bundled with SONAR 5 through X2 Producer. When Roland sold Cakewalk to Gibson, V-Vocal was not part of the sale. Starting with X3, Cakewalk added ARA support and included a license for Melodyne Essential with some versions. Cakewalk by BandLab supports ARA2 and includes a time-limited trial version of Melodyne Editor. Like SONAR X3 Producer through Platinum, CbB will load V-Vocal if it is installed. Installing V-Vocal requires at least running the advanced install option and selecting "Minimal Installation" of a version of SONAR that included the productl Like this from X2 Producer
  4. The EAP is not for everyone. If one has to rollback due to unexpected problems, uninstalling and reinstalling CbB using BA takes a couple of minutes with a decent connection. Still, it may be more than some want to deal with and that is understandable. The good news is once an early release is announced, the production release should happen soon after. That said, I like peeking into the future.
  5. CAL is a LISP-like programming language that has been deprecated for years. Simple functions like moving the Now time will probably work as long as the language is part of the program. Keep in mind, time in CAL is expressed in measures, beats and ticks. Ticks are the smallest unit of measure. Ticks-per quarter note is a per-project preference setting. The default is 960. The actual time a tick takes is a function of the number of ticks per quarter note and the BPM. IOW ticks per second = (ticks per quarter note) * (beats per minute) / 60
  6. CbB does not perform a full scan unless the re-scan options are enabled or the reset button is clicked. Otherwise, the scanner only scans new plug-ins and checks for missing plug-ins. Normally the re-scan options should be disabled.
  7. Here is a reminder of how BA works If you are running the most recent PRODUCTION release, BA downloads and runs the small update only installer If you are running any other release and there is an update available, BA downloads and runs the full CbB installer (just like it did the first time CbB was installed on your machine). So, if you are running the Early Access Program release and a never version goes production, BA will download the full production release. If the EAP release goes production, there is nothing for EAP users to do.
  8. This is not very helpful without knowing about the hardware specs, OS and project info. It may be audio driver buffers are set too low. Knowing more about the audio interface and it's settings might help. But it could be something else. The more information the better. Resource utilization percentages do not mean much by themselves. Again this probably has nothing to do with the OP and should be in a separate thread.
  9. Better to start your own thread with more information. Include details about the hardware (both PC spec and audio interface make) and OS. Also include project information such as sample rate, audio/MIDI track count, plug-ins used. Even the most powerful PC can be brought to a halt if not setup correctly or asked to do too much in real time.
  10. A linked clip is effectively ONE MIDI clip and this is the traditional way Cakewalk provides for driving multiple targets with the same data. Actually both methods use a MIDI track for each target (in this case multiple instances of a VST FX plug-in). A MIDI track output drop down is restricted to one output selection. only. The only difference in the two methods described above is how MIDI tracks get their data: one uses linked clips, the other uses a virtual MIDI cable.
  11. There are a couple of ways to distribute the same MIDI data to multiple targets. The conventional method uses cloned the tracks and linked MIDI clips. Each MIDI track may send its data to a different output. Since the clips are linked, changing one clip affects them all. Of course, clips may be unlinked at any time to allow changes to clips in each MIDI track. Another method uses a virtual MIDI cable (ex. LoopBe1). A MIDI track containing the data is routed to a virtual MIDI cable. MIDI tracks are created with their inputs set to the virtual MIDI cable and their outputs set to as needed.
  12. It means new text in the program will appear in US English regardless of the language setting. For info about Localization see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Language_localisation
  13. Yes, Ripple Edit is the new way. Insert Time/Measures still works but AFAIK there is no factory supplied shortcut. The function is exposed in keyboard shortcut preferences allowing the user to create their own shortcut. Search the Global Bindings area for "time" and "Project | Insert Time/Measures" should be fourth on the list.
  14. Since these items change with the theme, they must be in the theme editor. The colors in preferences were used prior to X-Series SONAR (late 2010). Some of them still work but the majority of settings are handled by the theme editor.
  15. This forum automatically reduces the size of large images. This is done because users have a 50MB quota for uploaded images. When posting full screen images, the results are rarely usable and the image in the OP is too small to read. To avoid resizing and needlessly reducing your image quota, do not directly upload full screen images or other large images. Instead, post the images to an image service such as imgur.com and embed links to the images in your posts here. Linked images are not resized and do not count against your image quota. The only differences between creating an audio track and setting the input to a patch point and creating an aux track is the act of creating and naming the tracks. They are both audio tracks with patch points as inputs.
  16. Clean re-install instructions haven been posted here
  17. Here are the setup instructions for the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. The setup for CbB is the same as SONAR Platinum. Once you have setup CbB according to the instructions above, it may be necessary to adjust the latency in the software supplied by Focusrite. Keep in mind, this forum automatically reduces the size of large images. This is done because users have a 50MB quota for uploaded images. When posting full screen images, the results are rarely usable. To avoid resizing and needlessly reducing your image quota, do not directly upload full screen images or other large images. 18. When downloading Tyrell 6 take a look at the other u-he freebies Podolski and Zebralette. They are all available from the u-he main page. Click Products on the menu. They are listed in the freeware section. For those interested in a preview of what the VCVRack will look like as VST, here is a port of v0.6 called VeeSeeVST which contains a lot of the free modules. The regular VST release of VCVRack will not be free. The current version of VCVRack is a standalone synth but has several record modules and there is a bridge which can communicate with CbB albeit a little flaky. I doubt VeeSeeVST will see much more development given the scheduled release of VCVRack VST near the end of the year.
  19. May need to kill the process in the Windows Task Manager. The program is called vstscan.exe. Then (temporarily) move the offending dll out of the scan path. Verify Scan in Sandbox is enabled. Some older plug-ins must be run as administrator to gain access to restricted areas of the registry and hard drive. Failing to do so can affect product activation.
  20. Nudge moves data. The OP is asking about moving the Now line not the data.
  21. AFAIK most interfaces show up as stereo pairs using the odd numbered channel in the name so an interface with two inputs would have something like Left Steinberg UR22 Mic/Inst 1 - this is channel one of the interface Right Steinberg UR22 Mic/Inst 1 - this is channel two of the interface Stereo Steinberg UR22 Mic/Inst 1 - this is both channels of the interface In addition to selecting the input(s) make sure the track interleave is set as needed. Depending on the theme the interleave may not appear the same as the image in documentation. The interleave button is just above the "E" in this image It is in the track strips of the Track and Console views too.
  22. The vertical bar that moves with the playhead is often referred to as Now. Here are a couple of ways to move Now using the keyboard - Ctrl+Page Up and Ctrl+Page Down move Now time forward or back one measure To move Now in smaller increments using the keyboard may be done by binding CAL scripts. Here are a couple of scripts to copy into files in the CAL folder and bind to keystrokes ;; Name: Now Forward.CAL (do (+= Now 30) ) and ;; Name: Now Backward.CAL (do (int offset 30) (if (< Now offset) (= Now 0) (-= Now offset) ) ) The 30 in both scripts is 30 ticks. By default, CbB is set to 960 ticks per quarter note. Adjust the values to suit or create multiple scripts for different values and bind to different key combinations.
