  1. 1. On the harmonizer plugin, select "Enable Midi Input" on the VST2 pulldown at the top. 2. Then select "Harmonizer (requires MIDI input".) 3. On the MIDI note track, set the output to the MHarmonizerMB plug in. Start with LOW latency but give HIGH a try (cleaner harmonies.) The harmonizer uses a lot of CPU so it might start breaking up on HIGH latency. *Note that the harmonizer plugin will not show up in the available outputs on the MIDI note track until you enable the Midi input on the plugin.*
  2. I've got a project that is fairly complex with many plugins and sidechains that will open completely, then after about 3 seconds I get the hour glass and it exits to Windows. There is no error and setting the sensitivity in the initialization file doesn't appear to generate anything. I have projects that are far more complex than this one that open fine. I've tried loading in safe mode and it will stay open if I excluded everything but if I exclude them one at a time (or common groups like soft synths or FX) it will crash. Only loading with no FX and synths keeps it from exiting. If I'm quick, I can start it playing but it bails out after a second or two. I looked at the Event Viewer and see this: 2281215597166793434 4 APPCRASH Not available 0 Cakewalk.exe 28.11.0.21 6387726b StackHash_b4ee 0.0.0.0 00000000 c0000005 PCH_29_FROM_unknown+0x0000000000000000 \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER8FF.tmp.dmp \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WERA29.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WERA39.tmp.xml \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WERA37.tmp.csv \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WERA57.tmp.txt \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_Cakewalk.exe_49f901855dfc38b7a24d15255f7e2bb35cc8b_3a505869_d681d648-3951-4881-a327-ed0e0152210a 0 7c145382-c31f-4148-8404-24c905b17497 268435456 fe55d34db251ca1dcfa8817fcd3512da 0 Faulting application name: Cakewalk.exe, version: 28.11.0.21, time stamp: 0x6387726b Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.19041.2788, time stamp: 0x2f715b17 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000002faad Faulting process id: 0xfb4 Faulting application start time: 0x01d97af031f5e7cc Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Cakewalk.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 50850872-87b8-4f01-99e3-3670e499ee6d Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: The C0000005 tells me someone is trying to access a memory location they aren't supposed to (that someone being Cakewalk or ntdll but it could be on behalf of a plugin.) Any suggestions how to investigate this further? I ran the deep hardware tests and they all pass. Terry Edit: I got it to open by opening two other projects with it at the same time. Well there's a usable solution! LOL. Resaving it and trying the new file didn't help.
  3. I've used the Ample M Lite to great results with effects including overdrive. It just depends on what you want. Like running a clavinet through a Phase 90. only different ... The fact he's using the Ample M Lite doesn't slam the door on the conversation.
  4. Oh, I thought they wanted a slight shift, not a transpose.
  5. Try Melda Productions MPitch. Also Pitchproof.
  6. After a bunch of testing, I agree ... it's hype. There are certain things I like about like the three band EQ and the limiter/compressor/leveler being on each track (albeit rather hindered.) The saturation controls are interesting but not a must. But I can essentially achieve the same thing in Cakewalk even though the ProChannel takes up a lot of room. I also notice that most people record in their favorite DAW and then mix in HMB. They don't record on it. I think one thing that fools people is they export the tracks from their favorite DAW and then wind up not putting as much FX on the tracks (by amount or quantity) and they say it sounds cleaner. Well, yeah. You didn't slather it with FXs which is very easy to do in some DAW and especially in Cakewalk. Yes, and them saying "Every resistor, capacitor, and transistor is included in the model" is the dumbest f*@&ing thing I've heard all year. But hey, that's just me. Thanks for the reply!
  7. It's because you put the mic in one input of your interface but didn't change the track to record only that input. So it thinks you have a stereo input but there is nothing on one channel. You can bounce it to mono if you want.
  8. It would help if you could tell us the instruments (VSTs) and plugins. There are plugins that inhale the processor but don't really show up in the performance monitor. Lots of experienced people here might be able to point them out.
  9. Is there any sonic difference? I hear some people claim "it's got the sound of the original analog board" but what little I've played with it, the results sound no different than Cakewalk.
  10. VSTs like Artruria's Augmented Strings and Augmented Vocals can bring a processor to its knees and the meter won't show it. I use it as an indication but things can go crappy and the meter won't show it. But I do think that meters that are slamming the top are usually accompanied with a horrible sounds. As Noel said, what does it sound like.
  11. Check out Roger Powell and his time with Utopia.
  12. I see what McLeod is suggesting but I think it would be easier to use automation to turn on and off the effect at the times you want. This assumes the effect plays nicely when you bypass or set the mix to 100% dry depending on the effect itself. So don't like being switched on and off and click or make a noise. Bounce to a clip when you are happy with it. What effect are you working with?
  13. I see this too quite often. While the developers will need to chime in, I think it works as intended. I lose the clip if I click on a different clip or track (or some combination of that.) I suspect they feel they've lost track of what I am doing. As long as I stay on the same track I don't lose the clip. Not a technical explanation but I think the issue it somewhere around that.
  14. Agreed. There are various solutions but right now I can't always tell what the digits are. Maybe even a separate display up in the control panel. But make them easier to read.
  15. Move the aim assist digits in front of the assist line. Right now, you can't always ready the numbers.
  16. Sonitus Delay in manual mode will do what you want. It will go down to .1ms and up to eternity.
  17. I do the two step method. Assuming you want to keep the song in tune, I change the pitch first and then change the length. Each half step is the 12 root of 2 or 1.05946309436 so use that to calculate how much to speed it up or slow it down.
  18. I've had unfreezing crash with the latest release. I only recently started using freeze more to remove CPU load and have noticed weird behavior. also, as I posted elsewhere, unfreezing doesn't always position the clip correctly.
  19. I seriously doubt we can "rush" them. But what the hell, let's try it!
  20. The futures so bright I need a metaphor.
