We do too.

I found that I have to add it early and freeze whatever I played. At some point, it will decided to go south. Noel or Mark gave an explanation of the cause sometime back. I finally switched to the Munt MT32 even though it has output routing limitations and you can make Cakewalk think it's the TTS-1 for midi only files. It certainly sounds far better than the original MT-32 since it doesn't do the 14/15 bit chopping stuff the original hardware did.

Yeah, his performance shtick didn't work out but his analysis videos are very interesting. He's also a quite capable player. -
Like the girls playing guitar solos where the dots on the fretboard keep coming and going? The fingering makes no sense in places? Apparently the Gibson guitars with the large square fret markers are easier to keep stable in AI. No, that ain’t AI. Right. The movie ones were cool at first but quickly became redundant and boring. Only a couple were needed.

Yeah, I’m surprised he hasn’t been murdered by now. But he does give credit to the singing greats. His Karen Carpenter analysis was very interesting. I think word of mouth is better than making them add a disclaimer. As one of my friends said, “Well that ruins it for me.” -
What's your favorite song of all time & why?

Todd Rundgren's Utopia Ikon. You get your money's worth. (Yes I removed the snarky answer.) -

Try posting this in Feedback Loop section although it might get moved for you. -
They need new "subscribers" (renters), not sustain the existing ones. I got the offer too. I originally signed up but cancelled before it renewed. I didn't try to see if this 60% discount would go through since I don't like the rental model. Based on your experience I suspect it would have failed anyway. I am a tad surprised the discount is that high though. But if you want in, it's a decent price cut.

I get that on a couple of VSTs that are found by an alternate DAW program. I just block them. Sounds like Splat isn’t seen as a valid program for some of the newer Sonar VSTs. But many do work. They’ll fix that.

What’s interesting is just how good many of the fakes are. I’ve play several and they are very nice. The fake branding needs to stop though. The builders in Asia need to start pushing their own brands and not lean on copying the big three. There is no reason their quality products can’t compete but it will take a long time to get people to see it. But many people are still hung up on the shape. If it’s not the same shape as one of the big three, they don’t want it. Ok, maybe four.

And to the weirdo Canadians that always beat us to it!

Someone go to your house? J/K. I agree. They do the best they can given the circumstances. The products are dang good. Happy T-Day US!

Make sure the drum kit has a local sound generator otherwise the latency even with super small blocks will drive you nuts. My buddy has to listen to the local sound module while recording the midi. The midi itself is dead on timing wise but the time for the VST to generate the sound is too long even at 16.

I don’t know. There were a lot of people on the old forum and now here, but the current numbers are unknown. I just believe that Bandlab’s future is more driven by new subscriptions to their service vs old users. It appears many moved on and that why I believe the revenue from sales might be low. Who knows.
-
I think at this point, if Bandlab gave us the option for a perpetual license, the number of people that would buy it might pay the bills for the developers for maybe a month. After that, then what? They will still be dependent on the rental revenue or as a loss leader. Why bother. I think they are best off just sticking to their original decision for rental only. That is either financially successful or it’s not.

I just do an xcopy to another drive. No compression. Just a copy. -
Looks like something didn’t see the null. They’ll fix it. Or feature it! 😀

Looks like we are loosing another long time user.

The new Sonar has come a long way but it lacks the “Gotta have it regardless of the cost and terms” factor. The improvements are great in some cases but they are incremental to what CbB already does. The new engine is great but it merely allows you to go from a stupid number of tracks and VSTs to an absurd number. But the visuals are coming along nicely. Lots of good work there. But it’s not compelling over the other offerings given its current terms. I think that’s what he was leaving unsaid. -
I think that qualifies for a good chewing out by the hairy one too.
