  1. I use the Sonitus delay but this might be spot where you need to use someone else’s delay.
  2. I personally believe it’s futile to discuss how Bandlab can cut features to allow them to sell a perpetual Sonar license. They aren’t going to do it. The answer you got was the standard “Oh we’re thinking about it. Stay tuned.” Oh sure we will. There is no reason or value to Bandlab to offer a perpetual license. If they thought it made financial sense, they would have already done it. It doesn’t make financial sense. Stand-alone Sonar isn’t financially viable. There is no ciphering, calculation or marketing survey that will change that. They know they can’t get back many of the users they lost. Why do you think Cakewalk got passed around so many times? Multiple attempts were made to make money of it standalone. It didn’t work. If a person is going to try and use the “We will get your music out there and you’ll be famous!” come-on then using Sonar makes sense. It’s a damn good product but if you just want a DAW that won’t stop working if you stop paying, there isn’t anything compelling to use it outside of Bandlab. If you like the product and don’t mind rental fees, use it. It works very well. But wishing for a perpetual license is futile in my opinion.
  3. I still get a request to use Google (I don’t have Facebook) but my workaround still works.
  4. Wow, has it already been a week? Time flies.
  5. I get the Google login but if I close it and refresh the window, I am logged in already. Not sure why this is happening, but we are the product.
  6. I tried all permutations of talking nice to it. It’s just not usable anymore. Haven’t tried the new Sonar but history suggests it will be flaky. But hey if you can get it to work, cool. There are alternatives though.
  7. It’s TTS-1. It’s no longer stable in later versions of Cakewalk for whatever the reasons. Many of us gave up or switched to different GM VSTs. You’ll get it to work randomly but it will always give you grief.
  8. In Sonar 8, I had to load old wrk files in the 32 bit version, save and then load them in the 64bit version. They wouldn’t work in 64 bit directly.
  9. I wouldn’t be surprised if the new versions aren’t locked to Sonar. They work well in others DAWs as they are now.
  10. I've found it often sounds "canned" but it's good for inspiration and working our chords and changes. In the end, I replay all of the parts myself but can't play as well as many of the Real stuff. Once in a rare blue moon BIAB will create something I can't reproduce even if it's just for the feeling (e.g. I am a terrible steel player) and I will keep some part of it. But I avoid using too much of its output. But as a buddy said, if I tried to sound like myself I would fail. But the inspiration is the best part.
  11. It’s not unusual to have to go looking for the blobs.
  12. Well thank you for the encouragement! I’m going to go hit F4 multiple times for my own satisfaction!
  13. Is don’t think all Real Tracks have a corresponding midi track. When I have switched, the midi was different or nonsensical. But often it does work. BIAB is a good composing tool.
  14. Yeah, if they are green the midi wont be a direct copy of the Real Tracks. It’s often nonsensical. Read in the BIAB manual about MIDI instrument assignment and hit up the BIAB forum. You can switch any instruments to MIDI or select a style that doesn’t use Real Tracks.
  15. Export the midi from BIAB, then export the wave instruments from BIAB (select file per instrument. ) Next import the wave and midi into Cakewalk tracks. Make the tempo in Cakewalk match the tempo in BIAB. Watch that the midi and wave clips are aligned. You might need to slide one to match the other. Now you have some choices. You can apply whatever instruments you want to the midi tracks plus you have the wave stems to mix in if you want. You can also go back into BIAB, change the style and extract various new instruments as you like. It’s great for getting away from the canned BIAB styles. Finally, you can add the BIAB VST into Cakewalk, load the BIAB VST with the SGU file (File at the top left) and see the chords as you play your song in BIAB. It will also play the BIAB audio if you want.
  16. Ah, good point. I don’t use Sonar and didn’t think about 4k. So my comments are wrong.
  17. I have to admit, if SoundCloud said I needed 2FA, I’d wonder why. They never did. I dropped Pro Nov. ‘24.
  18. When I got Producer 8, I had to load my old .wrk files in the 32 bit version, save them and then they could be loaded into the 64 bit version. 64 bit wouldn’t open them.
  19. It wouldn't surprise me if some slower i3 or i5 processors might benefit some. My earlier i7-4790 didn't need the card. The VSTs themselves did a fine job of grinding that processor into the ground. Arturia's Augmented anything was usually the cause. It wasn't the graphics load. Anywho, no harm with a card. Have at it. It's doesn't need to be an expensive card.
