  1. Everything is relative. A "potential" additional reduction of $5 or $10 is chump change compared to my investments in my DAW laptop, DAW software, audio interface, MIDI keyboard controller, 4 basses, 1 guitar and a couple of amplifiers. A software app either does something beneficial for you or it doesn't. If it does, is it worth the asking price? For me, Scaler is worth it at list price, so any sale price is icing on the cake. The last thing I need is to wait for a more deeply discounted sale price, only to have it return to full price and missing out on the savings that were offered. THAT would really toast my buns. I purchased Scaler 1 when it was released. With the possible exception of Studio One Pro, which I first purchased as version 2, Scaler's regular updates have added more value than any other music software app I've ever purchased, and I've purchased a LOT of them.
  2. Another The The fan? Cool! I'm not the only one. Matt Johnson does good work!
  3. Scaler just keeps getting better. Excellent bang for the buck. Check out 41 Fingers YouTube channel for some excellent videos using multiple instances of Scaler and reMIDI together to create his orchestral template. He's now working on RTS, his Real Time Sketching template. Lots to learn from him! 41 Fingers YouTube channel
  4. Same here. Big fan of the first seven albums. Some of the later ones were also quite good.
  5. Key Suite Acoustic has also been updated. - [FIX] Missing G#3-v3 sample in Model D As much as I like my UVI instruments, I think it's f'ing stupid to require a full download (12.x GBs for Key Suite Acoustic) to fix a single sample. UVI need to find a better method.
  6. I own one 250 ohm 880 and two 250 ohm 770 cans. Thanks for finding this video!
  7. Bundle owner here, too, so nothing for me again this year.
  8. Jumped the gun, they did.
  9. "for" sale does not equal "on" sale. Looks interesting, but I'll wait.
  10. Spot on, Craig. I've had nothing but bad experiences with Slate. Years ago, but not forgotten. He's one arrogant mother. That April Fool's Day video IS pretty funny, but it can't hold a candle to this classic!
  11. I think Steve Slate covers this issue the best. 🎸
  12. Yes, it's new. Designed for modeled EPs. They mention that you'll hear a blowing sound if used with sampled EPs.
  13. That worked without needing NanoHost. Sheesh. I'm an engineer by education. I tend to make simple things much more difficult than they need to be. Thanks for sticking with me on this.
  14. I have AD2 and AK installed, but haven't used them in a long time. I HATE the way XLN insists on installing everything (AAX and 32-bit, neither of which I would ever use), and then claims the AD2 and AK installs need to be repaired when I manually delete the AAX and 32-bit files.
  15. Thanks for the idea. I already had the NanoHost executable, but hadn't thought of trying it. Just did. No luck. Still the same small, unusable size. The only differences were: a) the Tone 12 splash screen and b) the cursor did change to the double-ended arrow for resizing windows, but didn't have any effect.
  16. The standalone version is still unusably small in 4K screens scaled to 200%. Disappointing. At least the VST2 version is usable on my system.
  17. I'm on Studio One and don't expect much change in their pricing, especially with Sphere subs going for $15/month. I can't remember the last time, if ever, that I heard the two words "Fender" and "free" used in the same sentence. I have a Reaper license good through v7, but don't expect to ever use it again.
  18. Best price I've ever seen for this bundle. I paid US$99 several years ago, and never saw that low price repeated until now. The best sale price since my purchase was US$199. These are excellent pianos (American, Italian, German), different enough from each other to be worth having all three, but as Fleer said, once you have these, you'll want the Ravenscroft 275. I had to wait a couple of years to pick that one up on sale. Now, I' still waiting for a decent sale price on their newish upright release, ModernU.
  19. Voice heard from the back of the Dane County Coliseum in Madison, WI when the lights went up after the opening act for a Jethro Tull concert: "Does anybody know me?"
  20. Pat contributed just a few tracks in Set 195, but they're nice to have. Pat Martino Real Tracks demos in BiaB Here's the lengthy list of all professional musicians who have contributed Real Tracks. All artists Real Tracks in BiaB
  21. I replied to your PM. I made the transfer request and paid the fee. It was only 14,24 € since I live in France. I attached my bank info so you can transfer that amount to me.
  22. I have an unused Artist 5 license that came with my purchase of an 1810c audio interface. I've been on Studio One Pro since v2, so have no need for it. I just checked my account, and a $25 (22.08 €) transfer fee is required. If you are interested, and have a PreSonus account, PM me the email address associated with that account. I would then enter that in the online form that pops up. They would contact you via your account address, get the $25 from you and take care of the transfer from my account to yours. $25 is a bargain for Artist v5. As mentioned above, it finally includes third party VST support without having to pay for the add-on. Plus, it would save you money on an upgrade to Pro, if you want to get that way in the future.
  23. Pat Martino contributed a bunch of excellent Real Tracks for Band in a Box. Much sadness over on their forum this morning.
  24. Soundpaint downloads are in sequential files about 971MB each in size, so .001, .002, .003 etc. It deletes those files once the installation is complete, so I don't have a backup for them that we could test via FC (File Compare).
  25. Installation tip. Install Soundpaint first. Create a Soundpaint directory on your samples drive and point Soundpaint to it via settings. When asked for a download folder, point to the Soundpaint folder on your samples drive. The Soundpaint downloader will automatically create the “Piano - 1928 Vintage Grand Steinway” folder under Soundpaint (or whatever download folder you chose; I used my normal download folder and had to move the “Piano - 1928 Vintage Grand Steinway” folder and its contents to my sample drive and then rescan).
