  1. I would say the Calkwalk user forum actually consists of four different parts with almost waterproof bulkheads in between when it comes to users. The Deals forum has its dedicated followers, the Coffee House has its own, the Songs forum has a third group of followers – and then there’s the rest, active in the Cakewalk specific sub-forums. Not that many are active in multiple parts so this kind of duplicated posts are becoming increasingly common. And in the near future maybe we should expect yet another division; those that have bought Sonar and those that have stayed with the last version of CbB.
  2. You’re getting there! However, I would suggest that the Arm and Arm All Tracks buttons are also turned simply black and white. To me, that dark red on black doesn’t give much contrast. Also, the disabled Freeze and Archive buttons are using shades of gray. I guess all disabled buttons follow the same colour scheme. But to quote the OP: “And the fancy track coloring and shades of gray are lost on me. They only make it difficult to see.” To get away from different shades of gray, maybe all disabled buttons can be made with say a 45° slash or some other visual cue that they’re disabled? Just to play around with the idea, I made a go with the Arm button, displaying the states Not Armed, Armed and Disabled. I think it might work, but as the OP isn't around, it's anyone's guess.
  3. Great initiative! The OP hasn’t been logged on here since he created this thread, but as he is the only one who can say for sure, let’s hope he notices your post. Otherwise I would recommend you to send him a PM which most likely will result in him getting an email. One thing I noticed is that the OP specifically said that he needed a theme that was “black on white”. I don’t know if it matters, but to me your theme looks to be white on black. But of course, only the OP can say for sure. I also agree with Colin; for Mute and Solo the letters M and S are probably much more distinctive than a recurrent circle with different colours. I don’t know about the OP, but other users who suffer from colour blindness and also would prefer a high contrast theme might have a hard time to distinguish between red, green and yellow if the icons otherwise are identical. Because of that I would also stay away from having multi-coloured icons like the Erase tool in your screenshot. I think that contrast is king. But once again, great initiative!
  4. I think you’re both right; it simply depends on which browser you’re using. In Chrome the logo looks good enough, but in Firefox it looks quite pixelated. <nerdy-details>It's because BandLab in the css selector #logo used the declaration “image-rendering: crisp-edges”. Chrome says that's an invalid property value and simply ignores it, while Firefox accepts it but turns the logo into an 8-bit experience. </nerdy-details> Oh, well. There are bigger problems in this world right now.
  5. I assume these vector images are stored as svg files. May I ask, are these images stored as SVG in a resource DLL (which of course is what an *.sth/theme file basically is)?
  6. I guess the GUI options will be: Light, Dark, and … well, that’s about it!
  7. I had a hunch in March that SONAR was in the works. And no, I'm not part of the Beta team. Just observant.
  8. Well, seeing today's announcement, I don't seem to have been that far off.
  9. And for those of you that have an active Groove3 subscription, Eli Krantzberg has released a 2 hour 25 minutes long tutorial called EZkeys 2 Explained. Of course, my subscription ran out almost a month ago.
  10. This, the theme from Schindler's List. John Williams once again. Simply perfection.
  11. I noticed the tutorial on Groove3 last Saturday and also created a thread about it, but alas in the Tutorials forum. Stupid choice, I know. And for the benefit of worthless knowledge, I've made a quick check on Groove3 to see how much coverage some of the currently active DAWS have. Quantities are in number of tutorials available in descending order. Logic Pro: 91 Ableton Live: 54 Pro Tools: 47 Studio One: 41 Cubase: 32 Reason: 29 FL Studio: 13 Reaper: 8 Digital Performer: 7 Bitwig Studio: 3 Cakewalk by BandLab: 1
  12. There’s more than one way to skin a cat. I’ve always filtered by Manufacturer, but that obviously doesn’t work anymore.
  13. That’s odd. When I filter on Manufacturer, Cakewalk has been removed from the drop-down list. Instead they’ve added a Bandlab entry, but that will only show this one recent video "Bandlab Cakewalk: Getting Started". If I instead search for Cakewalk in the Search field (like I did yesterday) I get four hits, namely the four videos I mentioned in the OP. However, if I search for Platinum in the Search field, I will indeed get the two videos you mentioned: "SONAR Platinum Advanced" and "SONAR Explained". So the old SONAR tutorials are obviously still there. Groove3 have in their infinite wisdom just made them harder to find.
  14. I just noticed that Groove3 recently has released a two hour long 26 video tutorial called “Bandlab Cakewalk: Getting Started” (sic!). That’s the first new Cakewalk tutorial at Groove3 since “SONAR X3 New Features” was released some 10 years ago. At the same time, it seems like most of the old Cakewalk tutorials now have been removed, except for the aforementioned SONAR X3 video and tutorials for Rapture Pro and Z3ta+ 2. I think it’s great to see that CbB is finally getting some long overdue attention at commercial tutorial providers as well. I’m actually surprised that Groove3 hasn’t done it before, especially considering some of the rather esoteric videos that has been released there recently.
  15. I think it was $199 from any version of Vintage Vault back in February. Guess it's inflation.
  16. I went to my UVI account to see if I had some special upgrade discount, just to realize I already have Synth Anthology 3. Oh, well. And yes, Synth Anthology 3 includes (at least) all the content from version 2. The new v3 presets are listed here.
  17. All I know is that the Authorizations tab in Toontrack Product Manager under EZK1 is no longer present after the upgrade to EZK2, but if you’re looking for an official statement I'd suggest you ask Toontrack.
  18. EZkeys 1 is still available as a plugin/standalone on your system. But I very much doubt that it's an independent license that can be resold, if that's what you meant.
  19. I really like the sound of the built-in EZkeys 2 Session Grand. It’s so much better than the EZkeys Studio Grand which I already had, but honestly almost never used.
  20. Well, people in that part of Sweden are domestically known not to be stressed or rush into things. Everything has its time. A time to code, A time to test; A time to deploy, And a time to have the morronfika. Little do they know that the natives are getting restless.
  21. Mm, I don’t know. I bought Cubase Pro when Gibson abandoned SONAR and I do regret it. In a weak moment I once even upgraded. But here I am, five years later, still using Cakewalk. Go figure.
  22. You’re not very specific, but as your problems seem to be related to manipulation of the GUI it might be a graphic issue. Massive X requires OpenGL 2.1 or higher or DirectX 9 or 11 so the requirements are pretty modest; it’s hard to believe that your PC doesn’t match those. However, in addition to Mark's suggestion maybe you should try to reinstall your OpenGL and/or DirectX drivers. And if that doesn’t help, maybe checking that your Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable packages are up to date. FWIW, I don’t have the problems you are describing, using Massive X version 1.4.2+254 VST3 and CbB version 2022.11.
  23. Thanks, they’re all handcrafted in Adobe Illustrator. I should know. That knob for example consists of 129 different positions, each one moved 34 pixels horizontally with the indicator turned 2.33 degrees clock-wise relative to the preceding knob, making up an image with a total size of 4386x34 pixels, finally saved as a transparent png file. You really have to think it’s kind of fun to actually do it.
  24. He has? Well, that would explain a whole lot.
