  1. Great work on the video Gary. You really brought it home with this.
  2. @Jon Sasor After I have installed this version of CbB, this Early Release version, when the final public release version comes out, will I have to uninstall the Early Release to be able to install the public release? Or will I be able to just install as is?

    Spider-Man

    Dat's what I'm talking about!!!
  4. Yes, thanks to all for the listens and the very heartfelt comments.
  5. Thanks for the replies and for listening. Gary will get up in the morning and see this. @bjornpdx every time I look at that pic I smile!! : )
  6. I have my number keypads 'Key Binded' to 1 = Previous Measure 2 = Next Measure 3 = Previous Marker 6 = Next Marker If I need anything with more resolution, I use Snap To. I can move around my project with ease. [edit] Pressing J puts the cursor in Jog mode. : )
  7. This is a song that the lyrics were wrote by a friend of mine that was going through an illness that eventually took her away from us. I used EZ Keys to come up with the song's chord progression. I also added the vocals to it. I then asked Simeon to play the piano part instead of using the EZ Keys stuff, and also asked if he could add some strings. Well he took this song and turned it into a beautiful piece of music. He did a fantastic job. I came up with, recorded a vocal part and was able to let my friend listen to what she inspired and contributed to before she lost her battle. But I couldn't give it the emotion that it really needed. So I asked Gary to help out and he accepted. He has done what I believe to be a fantastic job and can not thank him enough for the enthusiasm and talent he gave in his contribution to this project. He also did the mix! Much better than I had done. This is dedicated to you Dina, RIP girl.
  8. That's a wrap!! Put this one in the bag! It's done!! Don't mess with it!! : ) Leave it alone. Time to let it go! I listened to this last version on my monitors and this version is really clean and clearer than that other version. And the loudness was about the same that I could tell. Just listening with my ears. Didn't bring up any meter. Just from my ears they sound real close. Like I said, let it go!! You done good!! : ) LOL!!!
  9. Haven't used Autotune in years. But Real Tune is a real time tuner. I have never used it for anything other than pitch correction on vocals. I will adjust the vocal with Melodyne, then stick this plugin in the fx bin, set it up like I want, and it really smooths things out.

    PA Announcement

    Even that would be iffy!!
  11. Sweet deal. Waves Real Tune is under the radar people. And you know what Voc Rider can do.

    PA Announcement

Back ot. There is nothing in the emails I got from PA that interest me. With what I have from Melda, Waves, and IK, I can do without thier prices. Props needs to go to Larry for getting me in on all the great PA deals when they were available!!

Never thought of this!! You are probably correct too!! 😉 Poor guys!! Here they are working hard to give us a good product, and I'm out here throwing them under the bus!! 😁
  15. I just wish it would allow us to name it what we want, no matter where export it from. Master buss or individual busses. Or at least give us the option of 'Do you want to name these files? Or do you want CbB to name them? If CbB names them, this is what CbB is going to call them. Would you like to modify this name?'

Gary, I definitely hear that there is less reverb. I think you could add some more. Or maybe add some side chain to the reverb so when the vocal gets strong it lowers the rev, but it's still there at the ending of the phase. There were just a couple of minor spots where I noticed it. But had you not said anything, I probably would not have noticed!! It sounds like a good take to me. Give it one more shot and see which you like better then post back again.
  17. Nice song. Love the solo guitar tone. His vocals are good too. Pleasant tone. Mix was good too. Nice fine production. And your bkup voc was spot on!! Really took the song up a notch when they came in. Your voices sound good together.
  18. I like this tune. Being from the New Orleans area it didn't even phase me about the drums. I've heard it a lot like that out this way. A tuba would be cool in there though. That's a good idea! : ) I'd leave the drums in as is. But with the tools we have, throw some marching drums in there as Kenny suggested and see what you get. If you like it, post another version for us to listen to.
  19. Michael, I pretty much stand by my first post. It's a god song, done very well and mixed well also. I don't remember what the drums sounded like before, but I still like it! : )

Won't ever throw any rocks your way Larry ol buddy!! It's not as easy as your saying it is. That's all I am saying. There is a reason they are still using it, as Mark has suggested. Mark could explain it better than I could, he's worked with that kind of stuff. Not if Windows code don't support it. And what you think is the 'same menu' in the other DAW's maybe totally different code. Or as Piotr was saying, libs ( I think he's refering to ready-made-libraries) But after all said and done, the whole point I was getting at..... putting in a feature request has already been done. We got 'User Created Plugin Menus,' and 'Most Recent Plugins Used' features added. I think that's about it for that feature request! : ) I will also add, that I would be thrilled to be wrong!!!

I agree with you 100%. But you do have to remember, this was implemented when nobody had hundreds of plugins!! Ahh the old days!! : ) And I do like PA amp sims. I got the Rack and a few others also. But that IR menu is a PITFA!! I can understand Noel haveing come to Cakewalk as a new dev and this menu was already in place. He's stuck with it. Maybe something he wouldn't have used for all the reasons you stated. But for PA to use this nightmare of a menu knowing how many IR's there was going to be, is just plain bad design, I agree. I beta tested for a small amp sim outfit that had lots of IR's in the sim. And using that menu was not an option. They ended up creating a totally different program to accommodate all the IR options. Why did they go to that extreme? Because the beta testers complained about it enough that they saw the logic in what we were saying. Now PA can't tell me, not one of their beta testers didn't complain about that menu. I refuse to believe that. And you are saying that you have also told them something, so I have to assume others have said something too. But still, there it is. You just gotta SMFH!!! : )
  22. When I go to Export I don't ever remember how the naming scheme plays out, and I always end up with some really long names on the files, when all I really want is Song Name/What kind of instrument/stem. Example: I Wanna Hold Your Hand_Bass_Stem, and not all that other stuff that's added.
