  1. Thanks Larry T. I had no idea what to feel about it myself ha but it was fun to experiment with.
  2. I never entered any music competition before, I was kinda bored of the song I was working on so messed around with the desk bell and made this. The rules are to use only the sounds in the free desk bell instrument, and that it be under 2 minutes. I probably would have made it longer if not for that time limit. You can use fx etc to mess with the sounds which I did. It was fun to do.

    I'm stuck with MIDI

You can record the output of the synth triggered by the midi file by routing the synth track output setting to new aux track, then hit record on the aux track. There may be other ways but this is how i do it.
  4. What thickness did you use and who sells this type of wool? Thanks
  5. It looks like the rendered midi has more than one clip created. For some reason sometimes when i render audio to midi, it will make midi from every single track in the project at the area of the clip I actually want to render. It will take a long long time and start producing clips with the rendering appearing slowly on the right end as in your pic. I think this has been discussed on the forum before. Not sure if this is your issue but the pic looks like what i get when this happens. As a work around, i copy the clip I want to render past the end of the song, render it there, then put the midi where i want it. I have studio 5.
  6. Well just set your problems free 🤣
  7. Robbie Shakespeare, acclaimed bassist and record producer, has died at the age of 68. The Jamaican artist was part of the duo Sly and Robbie with Sly Dunbar. He was my inspiration that drew me to play reggae bass. I met him in Philadelphia where he and Sly were playing with Yellowman and Ini Kamoze in a small club. I made a rasta colors bracelet for him and boy did I underestimate the size of his hands so we just had a laugh. RIP
  8. This is from the ni site about unwanted volume changes. Maybe its something like this for patch changes ? not at my computer right now. KONTAKT's Volume Resets When I Press Play in my Host Sequencer Symptom KONTAKT's Instrument volume is reset when you press play or stop in your host sequencer. Cause Some host sequencers are configured to send MIDI commands CC7 and CC10 when you press play or stop. KONTAKT can be configured to respond to these standardized commands to reset the loaded Instrument's volume. Solution Follow these steps to prevent KONTAKT from reacting your host sequencer's play / stop commands: Load an instance of KONTAKT in your host sequencer. Load an Instrument to KONTAKT's Rack. Press the wrench button on the upper left side of your KONTAKT Instrument. Click Instruments Options. In the Controller tab, disable the option Accept Standard Controllers for Volume and Pan. You can alternatively configure your host sequencer not to send the standard MIDIcommands CC7 and CC10 when pressing play or pause. To learn how to do so, please consult your host sequencer's documentation.
  9. When my teen son who was into rock and metal heard me playing this he said with a puzzled look on his face was…..“birds??”
  10. I got this at audiodeluxe along with the db occasionally free uvi digital synsations and for me, who is missing the drummer gene, this solid was easy and way quicker than my usual struggles with drum parts !
  11. Hi Starise, ha. Glad you were pleasantly surprised, I try not to terrify anyone, although my song Red Alert about the time a few years back when I had a mandatory evacuation from a close wildfire is complete with the sirens, helicopters overhead, and newscast warnings. Now that was terrifying. Fortunately it did not destroy my home, neighborhood or kill anyone around here ! Maybe I should keep all the music parts and change the words now that hurricanes are so deadly, and make it about a carnival coming to town...brace yourself the clowns approaching...Thanks for listening and comments
  12. You should be very proud Dad ! I understand how you feel, when my sons were young and I was in bands that practiced at our house they had access to all kinds of instruments and gear plus I "made" them take piano lessons for 6 years. They both have written music, not as important to them as it is to me, and neither ever wanted to be in a band ha. Its really great to share music with the next generation and for them to blossom as your son has. The song and the video are very good and the passion shows ! I hope they find success and enjoy the journey !
  13. Really enjoyed this song, very smooth and well done all around. Your voice is very expressive and has a sincerity to it. I agree about the sound of the lead guitar being a bit different, unsmooth for such a smooth warm piece. Anyways, great job !
  14. Very peaceful and relaxing music. One suggestion I have is when the individual guitar notes have the delay/reverb on them, I would automate the volume of the delay/reverb notes so they are decreasingly lower, so they are more drifty and not competing with the main note which would add to the spacey vibe you have going on. I started with Kontakt Player and Im sure anything else you add will only add to the beauty.
  15. Sounds great, very clean mix, nice changes, enjoyed the ride !
  16. Very beautiful and well done, the mountains do you good !
  17. And you made me smile. Thanks!
  18. Thanks for listening and your comment SupaReels, I appreciate both! It was fun to make and glad you enjoyed it and yes these days hurricanes are very serious.
  19. Thanks David, appreciate the listen and your comment. Glad you enjoyed it even without a chorus, ha, I honestly didn't realize it had no chorus ! just did what I did. I guess I will leave it to the hurricane to break things down. I have had the pleasure of writing poetry for most of my adult life so thank you for appreciating my words too.
  20. Thanks jack c. Pop goes the hurricane! Glad you enjoyed it
  21. Hi PhonoBrainer, thank you for listening and your comment, appreciate both. I will have to check out Tom Tom Club now that you mention it. I expected to get feedback that the drums were too prominent ha. I'm glad you mentioned appreciating the held syllables, I had fun doing the vocals this way. Yes those poor weather reporters deserve a break ! Thanks again
  22. Hi bjornpdx, thanks for listening and your comment. Glad you liked it. Honestly I didn't even notice it doesn't have a chorus and still wouldn't have thought about that if you hadn't mentioned it. As usual I just play around without too much planning most of the time. I will make a mental note to ask myself if I think a song should have a chorus in the future ha. Thanks again !
  23. Thanks for listening and your comment noynekker! Sorry you are in an area that deals with the now much more deadly hurricanes. I am in the high desert of AZ and we have other challenges (fires, hotter heat) but occasionally do get a hurricane here that comes up from the Gulf of Mexico, normally just makes heavy rain. When I grew up on Long Island we had hurricanes, and in PA also that were threatening more like my lyrics as in no big worries, nothing like today. Funny you got a parody vibe, I always appreciate the feedback here on the song forum because it is usually not what I was expecting !
  24. Wrote this one before hurricanes became as destructive as they are now, so its missing devastation. Just wanted to do something a bit more fun after my last two. Thanks for listening and any feedback ! Happy Thanksgiving to anyone who is celebrating it.
