  1. Sorry, Had nothing but trouble since I bought it. I own a Tascam us1641 and a Scarlett 6i6 and now a Zoom L8. those 3 interfaces always ran at 128 or 256 on all my projects. The Motu didn't. What else is there to know. My system has always been optimized and I would mostly be working off line. My projects barley have any effects and I only use solid VST instruments. AT the time my Hard drives were all brand new and mostly empty. The icing on the cake was I have been trying different DAW's and Digital Performer had a lot of trouble using it's own interface. Everytime I opened the program it would try and use Core Audio??? And then it would set to 44.1 even though everything was set otherwise. Not impressed. When you try a lot of DAW's together things like this really stick out as being lame. When I first got the M4 it had major issues and I contacted Motu who got back to me promptly and informed me my Computer probably didn't supply enough power to run it via USB 2.0 ports. So I had to spend $40 to buy a PCIe USB 3.0 card. That solve most of the issues. But it still only ran smoothly at 512 and randomly would record distorted. You had to be wearing headphones to hear it but it was there. This is the same issue the guy who did the reviews found and it's related to the monitoring system. A lot of people are probably recording with a tiny bit of distortion and not noticing it.
  2. But how do you get it out of its packaging ?
  3. 50 years for us. Gunna go camping just like the honeymoon but this time in our 84 Chevy shaggin wagon not the back of a Datsun PU.
  4. There’s no such animal? Are you referring to a Korg Krome 88? Korg makes good stuff and it will have proper midi drivers which Cakewalk will be happy with.
  5. I actually like Spam. Goes good with With a little mustard.
  6. Probably was spam he was reporting
  7. This seems obvious- Looks like you are needing a Microsoft VC runtime update. I'm no expert on this but @msmcleod possibly can tell you what is not right.
  8. My conclusion is that Motu is a Mac oriented company and they don't spend any time developing their audio drivers and Software for Windows. On my older Computer which was W10 I had to use 512 buffer of suffer glitches. On my new W11 there's a slight performance improvement and I can use 256. My projects are ridiculously simple. I don't go near any plug ins that are know CPU hogs. My most complicated project will be on the edge of glitching using the Motu as an interface @ 256 but if I switch to my Zoom L8 I can lower my buffers to 128 and even 64. Same computer, same projects. I took some screen shots so you can compare your settings. Pay attention to the box in sync and caching make sure the Motu shows there. Sometimes invasive drivers show up there and you need to delete those in Reg Edit. Also make sure you have the latest ASIO driver from the Motu website.
  9. My question - Are you really that maxed out on memory and CPU that freezing is needed? An option would be to freeze everything and copy the tracks to audio tracks. Then you can unfreeze Kontakt and mute stuff.
  10. Look at the promo for DAWs on the developers web sites. It’s always a Young person wearing headphones sitting at a laptop. There’s the target market. Sometimes you will see a guitar but rare.
  11. It might help if you say which midi slider you are using. And how you are using it. Act? Midi Learn?
  12. OS upgrades always give you the option to keep all files and settings or to nuke them. Myself before I would do this I would spend $50 on a 500 GB ( or??) SSD drive and clone your current system. Samsung has a free app the Magician that I’ve used a few times now that works perfectly for this.
  13. I use a similar app called SonoBus. It has a lot of tweaking you can try to bring the latency down.
  14. The difference there is a musician can be a player and support the song or you can be the one delivering the song. The best gig I ever had was for 4 years I was an activity worker in a care home. I played my guitar every day and sang old songs. This is we’re I learned it’s more about the lyrics to the old songs than the music. Even though I was capable of soloing I never did. The focus was always the chorus. An example was we brought in these friends of mine who had a jazz quartet and they played old standards but no vocals. There was no reaction from the residents. When I did the sing alongs everybody reacted and most tried their best to sing along. We also learned lyrics sheets were a waist of time for all but the few who were still at that level. You might not remember the name of your daughter but you can sing the chorus to Home on Range

    The crush again...

I just learned how to read the dump files so I was looking at all of mine from the last year. Kontakt and TTS-1. Every time. That Quick Quack sounds like a loser too.
  16. Seems like it’s to do with moving the desktop to a different drive. I don’t think that’s allowed??
  17. Amen. It’s worse on the Facebook pages. They are all so very uninformed about the whole show . Who can blame them.
  18. Sorry I should have read you answer more closely as I see now what you were saying is clear. What I don’t know is what this person is using Bandlab app on . It might be totally different when you use an audio interface with a tablet or phone. And Apple doesn’t need ASIO as far as I can tell.
  19. Sorry but that is wrong information. Audio levels are set at the audio interface before it is converted to digital and sent to your Daw. You can turn the track gain right off and the recording level will not change. As you set the levels on your Interface with the track in record standby the track meter should match what the meter on the interface is showing. This is true of ASIO system. On board audio there’s Windows volume mixer involved. Possibly your friend did not check there and make sure they are using ASIO mode. Oh wait a minute did you say Bandlab the cell phone app?? Or are you saying Cakewalk by Bandlab

Did you follow the instructions in the video posted by @reginaldStjohn?

It’s been gone over a million times on all the audio related forums and the conclusion is that in blind testing nobody can hear a difference. Even the super budget converters on a computer sound card seem to work fine. Of course there must be a difference but it will be off the spectrum of human hearing. You won’t hear anything different running the signal through a mixer like a Mackie. They are good mixers and transparent.

the Behringers that have the Midas pre amps are actually one of the best pre amps available. They rate very high on the list. The ones that don’t have Midas are considered garbage and rate near the bottom.

I don’t really review them I just compare price points to features. This video he reviews in detail and has tested a few. The only problem is there’s a few interfaces he didn’t test like Zoom and Tascam that are in my opinion very good interfaces.

I will interpret this as you are saying to use analog gear you have to send it out from the DAW through you audio interface and then bring it back? Yes often people who do this use what are called inserts if your interface supports them. But a regular interface can easily be configured if it has lots of ins and outs. With a good quality interface using ASIO drivers there should be no latency. The DAW and the ASIO driver calculate the latency and adjust for it so everything is in perfect sync. Only ASIO does this.

You won’t normally hear back from them. I never have other than auto generated emails telling me to try safe mode. Which is what you need to try. It will be a plug in you need to remove.
