  1. A 1 pixel area right below Control Bar has always had some sort of peep show going on since X1 and before themes. It should be a solid color. It comes and goes at will so there's no scenario to reproduce it. Curious if Sonar does this too.
  2. Before colors we had the track Number & Name at the bottom of each Inspector strip.
  3. Good to know tho if it happens again here probably won't remember to check. For me these are one-time-only glitches. There's another SOLO/MUTE glitch that happens all the time in CbB: In PRV clicking solo or mute on either of a paired synth/MIDI track results in the other one not responding "visually" to the changes until the mouse hovers over it. Clicking one should affect both. Not sure about new Sonar.
  4. I never got the "blurry on 4K monitors" thing with CbB. Maybe it's the monitor but I only have one on a 17" laptop and it's crisp at all settings. Only issue here is 17" @3840x2160 is too small so 250% zoom or 1920x1080 is used.
  5. Funny how some software makers use titles for their updated versions resembling virus or disease IDs. or is it?!
  6. Obviously, a MIDI track routed to an outboard synth that hasn't been recorded to track will also not be in the mix.
  7. Thanks, so the friendly name # removal is a good thing especially now I know how to use them.
  8. I'm probably the only one who never got this, but you prompted me to read the manual (pg74). I NOW know "|" delimits -or separates- the name you type. Since they use "/" in the "condensed" Preferences description, I did too, so the separation never happened. So... Onyx 1|Onyx 2|Onyx 1/2 =
  9. Preferences gives you 4 ways to display the drivers. The 1 L, 2 R, 1+2 S, 3 L, 4 R, 3+4 S etc. with UNfriendly names helps a lot but I use friendly names which removes the channel numbers defeating the whole purpose of adding them. ← Edit (user error) unfriendly friendly
  10. Yeah I suppose Home Studio could make a PC-less temp as it only has Style Dials. I don't have it installed and won't at the risk of messing up my current installs. Didn't know about the txt file trick either..... so much to learn. Not sure if the stripped down EQ could cause issue with newer versions of Sonar's PC but only the devs would know for sure.
  11. BTW, only X1 can add and retain PC-less tracks to a project. Other versions will add the default modules when adding tracks and the EQ cannot be removed once added unless you do an Undo. FWIW my PC-less projects have never crashed from the template or preset. That may be a New Sonar thing or something else entirely.
  12. No. I don't use it and until you mentioned it, didn't even know how to activate it. Funny thing is it only happens occasionally, like during my last post but not this one. It's like the posting header doesn't fully load sometimes and so far this is the only place it happens.
  13. Ooops, I was thinking Channel buttons, but they all use dropdown arrows that DO take up space . Maybe the button format could be changed to mimic the FX Rack buttons where arrows are hidden until you hover over them... Still I think Input buttons could loose the " - Ch." or use something like 1:LX88 or LX88:1; LX88:Omni which uses less space.
  14. I still get this. No one else?
  15. I normally use Omni, but honestly can't see why the Input button doesn't follow the same format as Output. If a channel is selected it should be the first thing you see so a quick glance is all it takes to confirm. Especially when using multiple controllers on multiple channels. 0️⃣ 1-Yamaha ℹ️ 3-LX88
  16. I'm learning stuff. Old bug that was fixed or not, I made an Empty.pcp ProChannel preset with no modules in X1 that still loads in X1 but not in X2 and above. If Empty.pcp was loaded & saved in a project created with one of the default templates already having PC modules, it will open empty in X1 but not X2 or above. In X1 you can save a Project Template with Empty.pcp and any project made and saved with it, even in CbB, will retain the empty PC in every version of Cakewalk you open it in. So the empty status seems to be retained in the template, not the project made with it. Makes sense then this would also apply to templates made in 8.5 and earlier that had no PC at all. So... if you have an old project with no PC modules, CbB & Sonar should reload the modules when you open it IF it was not originally created with a PC-less template. If it was, you'll be reloading them manually. Or... this may work:
  17. There was a glitch in X1 that allowed us to remove the EQ from ProChannel strips. It's since been fixed so you can no longer do that. EQ is the default module for ProChannel and can't be removed which is why it's normally not in the list and why there is no icon for it. If you had removed it, back when you could, and now open the project in any Cakewalk program, it will appear in the list with a blank icon.

  19. Don't know if this helps but Google Reason and Cakewalk: https://legacy.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013042/The-Complete-Guide-to-Using-Rewire-Part-1 specifically: https://legacy.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013045/The-Complete-Guide-to-Using-Rewire-Part-4
  20. Sorry SirWilly, our posts overlapped.
  21. Explain. When you are in another view, you can hit D or Alt+1 to return to Track View.
