  1. Modeled after a famous hardware compressor, the UA 1176.... but which one? There were 3 or 4 variations. Or is it a limited/combo of the different models?
  2. Colors are stored in the registry so it MAY be possible to change them there, but only if you know how. Hex numbers seem to be backwards so you may get opposite color. Always "Export" original registry folders you want to change first. I'd be curious if someone tries this.
  3. The only registry entry I found for "Region FX" is for clip background color.

... then choose the desired resolution. FWIW it will change visually as you zoom in and out of the window but snap value won't.
  5. VocalSync is part of the main install. Melodyne installs toward the end of the process, so order is figured internally. Possible if you are able to avoid VocalSync from being installed but latest installers don't give plugin options like they used to.
  6. Not likely he'll respond. You can hover over his name and see when he was here last.
  7. OP - maybe closing/reopening CbB was only necessary for setting up 1st controller as it hasn't been needed after that. Or maybe just a fluke.
  8. Good to know. Todays message: After deselecting "ACT" in the setup window I get this: which is the 1st assignable control in Dimension Pro on track 1. It never changes when track banks are moved, so - useless info. Creating a surface entry for Roland V-100 displays the 1st plugin on track 1 which is Dimension Pro. but includes no WAI indicators for tracks and also never changes, so - useless info. Creating a surface entry for TascamUS-428 or Mackie displays what should be there: track status - useful info. So Nektar is clearly not providing track info or Cakewalk is misinterpreting it as gibberish. Roland owned Cakewalk so not sure why V-100 doesn't communicate as expected. Tascam, Mackie, and maybe others do it right. BTW, none of these others required me to close/reopen CbB to work. OAN, Nektar is programed to think the 1st Bus is the Master bus (Master 1) but I always move it to the far right, so unless I can change that somehow it's also useless.
  9. I may know nothing about it but see my post in the OP's other thread.
  10. For some reason I can no longer find his response so I can't verify what he said specifically. Majority of characters are square blocks which a font will display when there's no character for it. Otherwise there's an EURO dollar sign and a funky p. Every session is different. Today I get this:
  11. Saw that. Uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin. Works now. Probably a registry glitch caused by me. BTW, the blurry GUI is a separate image that displays during startup for a brief moment. If something goes wrong during startup, it stays.
  12. Installed it. Played with it a bit. Forgot about it till now. Just put it in a project and Windows flagged it limiting some of it's functions. Don't know if I did something wrong but It now loads with a blurry GUI.
  13. Sometimes emptying the waveform cache helps issues like this.
  14. 1) This isn't Cubase. Just left-click with the Smart tool and drag mouse to draw freehand nodes. Alt key is for creating one node. Hold mouse in one place and left-click. Left-click dragging the mouse when holding Alt key lets you float the node until you find the right place for it, then release left button. That's why it "sticks". Holding Shift invokes Line tool. Hold left button and drag mouse allows you to move the mouse to the right position while creating a perfect straight line of nodes. 2) Snap can be turned off if you don't want it. Snap resolution determines how many nodes fill the space. No snap allows maximum nodes to fill the space but many times all those nodes aren't necessary. 3) This is true but may be fixed in the future.
  15. Most of the time this is what it shows. Only once it actually displayed the name of the track it was focused on. Oddly the maker (Nektar) said they've seen the same thing. They also said Cakewalk handles controllers differently than most DAWs so I have no fantasies of it ever working 100% as expected. I've never used it with other DAWs but I might try it with Mixcraft. However, I don't think MC displays things the same way so maybe Cakewalk is asking more of it than it can do. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  16. 12 years I think... when X1 came out. I'm still not sure what the trouble is but you shouldn't need to lock a screenset to keep things from disappearing.
  17. Rapture Session Instrument window has 8 macro knobs, a pan knob, a volume fader and a LIMIT button that can be mapped to a controller, but there are inconsistencies between the standalone and plugin versions. 1. Standalone allows you to map controllers to the instrument knobs using MIDI learn, but when used as a plugin the mapping is already set and can't be changed. - Is that right? If so... 2. The plugin's mappings are all over the place and difficult to remember which controller knob does what. Can that be overridden or is it a bug? 3. When mapping the standalone version, none of the parameters respond to my 3rd controller "pot" (which "works" in CbB as a pan knob). edit: System reboot seems to have corrected the pot issue - As a plugin the 3rd controller knob is hard mapped to the LIMIT switch. However, in standalone the LIMIT switch is not even mappable. Is this a bug? 4. In any usage, you can't map a controller to instruments that aren't already pre-mapped. Is this only doable in Rapture Pro? edit: System reboot seems to have corrected this also. ATM anyway I can map controllers in standalone at least. Then there's times when standalone doesn't respond at all to any mappings. edit: Probably due to system glitches. Sometimes it works great, other times not at all. 5. Is there no way to save settings made in the Instrument window? Thanks.
  18. In the past (CbB?/ SONAR Xx?) it showed up as soon as I set it up in Preferences without closing the program. Is this normal?
  19. Copy the new folder to: C:\Cakewalk Content\Rapture Pro\Programs then hit F5 to repopulate the directory. A custom icon.png can be used for the new folder to show in the browser but it should have the same name as the folder.
  20. I create programs in Dimension and Rapture and save them in custom folders. F5 makes them appear in those browsers. Rapture Session has a "User Imported" category but haven't figured out how to make them show there. Thanks for any help.
  21. Probably your worst option. Another name for Inline PRV. Click the Clips button (A) and select Notes. Clip changes to a mini PRV, tho not the best for editing notes in.
  22. Obviously PRV doesn't display individual Take Lanes. Only ways I know would be: 1. Use Track View Notes mode where Take Lanes reside and can be separated. 2. Drag each Take Lane clip to it's own track where PRV can single them out. or 3, Record takes into separate tracks to begin with On another note, how cool would it be if copied & pasted notes and clips appeared in a separate Take Lane? Would make finding and removing them so much easier.
