It's been the only reason I stay with Cakewalk. Cubase and others don't work for me.
-
For me it is true. But I cannot speak for others. I can't even spreche kein Deutsch, so I can neither confirm nor deny if I said what you say I said. But I probably did. Then again, things can get skewed in translation.

Nobody. I mean, nobody, does MIDI better than Cakewalk. But there are some nice features out there that could be implemented.

feature request FR: New SONAR - Scalable Time Ruler
sjoens replied to sjoens's topic in Feedback Loop
Wow. Forgot about this one. Great idea! 😃 -
Cakewalk bought the company in 2005 and there's been hints on this forum from the devs of re-offering some of these.

Why are they're disappearing? Even one I used recently is MIA, so I know it used to be there. So how do I update my system to show them?

An entire project .cwp gone vanished
sjoens replied to onlyinitforthemoney's topic in Computer Systems
I do both! Save after every few edits and Save As after major changes. Hard drive would load up too fast if I only did the latter. . . . or power outages. It goes out at will for any reason, every reason, or no reason at all, here. Always use a BBU or Generac if you're on the grid. -

Possibly it's completely gone. If it's been marked for overwriting: "$ySong.cwp", Everything may find it. -
why doesn't lasso-ing a clip shift focus to the selection
sjoens replied to matt's topic in Feedback Loop
This started when SONAR X2 replaced left-click-lasso with right-click-lasso in TV and PRV. Right-clicking may not have been coded as a focus changer there. IOW, TV doesn't know focus should change when right-clicking. SONAR X1 uses left-click-lasso so not a problem there. The issue happens - IF - you left-click on an FX in the Track Pane FX Rack or insert an FX there before right-clicking in the Clips Pane. Left-clicking the FX opens it's UI, but focus is still on the FX Rack, so closing the UI does not remove focus from the FX. Left-clicking an empty space somewhere else before right-clicking clears it. -
This only happens when inserting a tempo equal to the last tempo but different than the one before it. As long as the new tempo equals the 2 tempos it goes between, it works. IF measure 2 tempo = 150 and you insert 140 at m10, then again at m9, m10 disappears. IF measure 2 tempo = 150 and you insert 140 at m8, then at m10, inserting the same tempo on each measure between them will remain.

Handy when you want individual clips to behave differently from the rest. This is done automatically when creating Region FX for an audio clip. As long as the Region is active, double-clicking the clip will reopen Melodyne, or whatever RFX you've created. After bouncing the clip, double-clicking returns to the default setting.
-
There's a Paste Special setting for that so it may be intended behavior. For me pasting a single note creates a full length clip that can extend to oblivion, which is not intended behavior. The new clip should only be as long as the added notes. I only use SoS.

or. . . "Scammer Website Strikes Close to Home." If I'd known it was worth $100 I'd have never given it away! Just make sure you select the right size when checking out, because "Default" size may not fits all. Be sure to check out all the stolen apparel on this bogus clothing site. Obviously they use screen grabs from real sites like this one.

Not Liking the look of the New Sonar Interface
sjoens replied to mark foster's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
From what I've seen, scalable image based GUIs usually have several sets of images to facilitate the changes. No small task if you have a thousand images per set. -
Wow, thanks Amberwolf! Never knew about the ctrl+/- zoom trick, definitely better than PDF conversion. If only it worked on plug-ins, tho. I knew the Index panel text could be made bigger with Windows Ease of Access > Make text bigger widget (already set to 125%) as it's supposed to make all text bigger, so was disappointed when CHM main text didn't change. BTW, Track View Track Numbers, Browser, PRV Piano Key labels, Staff View, and file menus are affected by Windows text settings in SONAR, CbB, and possibly Sonar. Too bad Time Ruler digits aren't.

It's almost unbelievable how small font size is in these old CHM files on newer screens. Changing screen zoom or font size to a readable level makes everything else on screen too big. Along with older plug-ins, would be nice to have them increased. 17" laptop @1920x1080 with 100% zoom Otherwise, segments can be printed to PDF which makes them easier to read.

Nice! Thanks for the help. Got it working after holding a left-click while hitting F1. Not sure what's going on but it tends to be hit-n-miss. Works, then doesn't. At least I found the chm file in the Documentation folder so all's good now.

I noticed there's no Help file or "About" window. All I can find is a blip in the older SONAR Help files and a CAKETV video.

Thanks. Mine is set to Whole Words Only. But that shouldn't befuddle which word it looks for. Just tried it again with module and got modifying the 1st try. Doesn't happen all the time but often enough. I may be hitting Enter so fast it gets confused.
