Thanks John. I was more interested in search tags like the pic now included in the OP. One of my many problems is not providing enough details in the OP.

Sonar 8.5 Producer: Display plugins by File Name?
sjoens replied to Annabelle's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
That could explain why it's not working for me either, as I have all versions of Sonar from 8.0 onward installed. However, I ran the 8.3.1 update very last thing which replaced the latest Plug-in Manager with the 8.3.1 version. Seeming identical except for an older file date and the Windows 98 style frames and icons. The only way to tell if newer installs are messing with Sonar 8 is to remove everything and reinstall 8. -
My whole life has been a tragic accident... so I can neither confirm nor deny that statement! ? A more relevant question might be why are some smileys missing from the list?

I asked because if this happens before the PC ever goes to sleep it's because the user disconnected it, not Windows. My PCs are now set to never sleep so Windows doesn't mess with things like that. I also set the lid to Nothing happens when closed. Because USB power saving also affects things like my printer I am disabling it as well, but until today it was enabled. FWIW I also disabled the disconnect warning in Preferences > Display so I'm not bothered by it.

Sonar 8.5 Producer: Display plugins by File Name?
sjoens replied to Annabelle's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I see no way to run it as admin inside CbB/Sonar, and all 3 buttons are grayed out when run standalone, admin or not. They are labeled VST Configutation, tho so maybe not so odd. -
Sonar 8.5 Producer: Display plugins by File Name?

Odd that you can't rename DXs with the Plug-in Properties button, only VSTs. -
Makes sense. But 99.9% of users don't have that ability. It looks like we have 2 options: 1) Keep the main view un-maximized to retain their visibility. OR 2) Click the top left hand icon and Enable floating so they float above the main view or on another screen... then save the project/template. When a project is saved, the current layout is remembered by the current screenset. Sadly they can't be docked in Multidock, which would be a major request if I used them. And I would if I could edit/create my own. In spite the manual's comment, they don't seem to be available with Sonar Platinum or CbB installers.

Which "this" worked for you? -
Keep in mind this is exactly what Theme Editor is. It's actually based on Ben Staton's SonarPlus Skin Editor which he made for Sonar X1 back in 2011. There are many editors out there and some are free but I use Restorator which automatically makes a backup of any file it edits. Resource files that mainly affect the visual part of a program have little to no affect on the main program unless you get carried away. As long as the files are outside the main exe file you're safe from doing it any harm. Even if the program fails to run or throws a warning, you can easily return it to normal by keeping the original files in a safe place so they can be reused. Main problem with this is when program updates overwrite the files you edited making you reapply the edits.

You could use a resource editor to change the wording in the String folder contained in the TTSRes file.

The ZEDi 10 only has 2 stereo ins & outs. They are all shown in your screen shot. Analogue 1 = stereo pair 1+2. Pan channel 1 hard left & 2 hard right for 2 mono channels. Why it was disconnected from your system??

Cakewalk Marker Deletion (non intuitive UI) Observation
sjoens replied to Sridhar Raghavan's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Markers View = yes Markers Module = no If nothing else I'd like to see a Delete button when I right-click a Marker -or- click the Module dropdown and right-click a marker to delete. I never open or use the Markers View so it would add time and inconvenience to my workflow. -

Sonar 8.5 Producer: Display plugins by File Name?

It's in Menu Bar Options > Global... > VST Plug-ins, but not sure it's necessary as it's not necessary in CbB. In Sonar 8 go to Menu Bar Options > Initialization File... , fill in the option, click Set and Close, then close and reopen Sonar. Rescanning shouldn't be necessary but won't hurt anything if you do. FWIW, this does work in CbB, but all my attempts to make it work in Sonar 8 have failed. Nothing changes. This may be not do-able, current Windows has broken something, or a different qualifier is needed. If nothing else, you can rename the plugins yourself within Plugin Manager. Right-click FX Bin > Audio FX > Plug-in Layouts > Manage Layouts... -
Cakewalk Marker Deletion (non intuitive UI) Observation

I requested a " - " (delete) button for the Markers Module awhile ago. -
Ah hah. Thanks Mark.

This zombie thread from 2019 is all very FASCINATING as the latest 2022 CbB manual says this on page 1405: Cakewalk includes a wide variety of StudioWare panels for popular MIDI devices, with new panels constantly under development here at Cakewalk, by equipment manufacturers, and by Cakewalk users. It lists 19 panels. I have 34 installed all dated 12/30/2011. They open in Sonar 8.3 but nothing happens in X1, 2 , 3, SPlat & CbB/Sonar. What's the trick to open them? [I zombied this thread because it seemed the most appropriate one for this post.]

Is the external insert an actual plugin? If so, where is it or is it hardwired into CbB?

Most Toast notes have white text and are easy to read. But some (usually warnings) have black text and aren't easy to read at all. Is this by design?

Re-Activation needed after just 18 days ?

I've been getting the Sign in to BandLab toast for some time but have been ignoring it, without incident so far.
