... freezing a synth while turning computer's Airplane Mode On/Off, clicking on the Start button, or almost anything else. Tested with different synths. Happens instantly.
-
Cool. I searched for an answer to this but nothing came up but similar requests. Only a couple synths do this but Yamaha is the big one I use a lot.
-
This was a feature request but there's already a not-so-obvious solution: For CbB go to %AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Master.ins and change Drum[*,*]=1 to Drum[*,*]=0 for any synths that invoke the diamonds. For Sonar go to %AppData%\Cakewalk\sonar\Master.ins. ******************************************************************************** In standard PRV window, not in Drum Map Pane. Currently when assigning a MIDI track Bank to some synth's Drum Kits (like Yamaha), MIDI blobs turn to diamonds. 1. I don't feel any richer by this 2. They're very hard to see on newer screens 3. At certain zoom levels they completely disappear. 4. Editing notes is difficult 5. I've never liked them. A workaround is to set the track's Bank to your synth's Drum Kits and select the kit, then reset the Bank to None. Then if you have the right INS definitions you can right-click the PRV keys and select Use these Note Names Instead. Now you have standard MIDI blobs with note names. However, this ends up displaying an instrument name in the track Bank field instead of a drum kit name.

Yes. It seems somewhat usable but a little glitchy at times.

Me three. That's why I said what I said. -
User created colored key switch templates for the PRV keys? Right-click keys and add the one you want or make it so they load for whatever softsynth is connected.

There are a few in the USA claiming to be such. studiocat.com PCAudioLabs.com The key to a good DAW system is using it ONLY for that, nothing else. Something the average hobbyist isn't likely to do. -
Easiest Way To Make A Sweeping EQ Effect For 1 Track?

Not sure. CC's only work on MIDI tracks so I would have to go thru my plugins. -

There are custom made DAW specific systems out there but I've never tried one as they are typically 2x or 3x the cost. -
Easiest Way To Make A Sweeping EQ Effect For 1 Track?
sjoens replied to sjoens's topic in Instruments & Effects
Sorry for the confusion but I'm using ProChannel EQ for that track. The synth Rapture Session does have some knobs but none of them give the same effect. MIDI CC would be interesting if it could be used for that, tho. Who knew? z3ta+ has a "preview ribbon" at the bottom (aka invisible keyboard). -

Try googling "rock solid". Many have contested whatever version of SONAR/CbB they use is just that, which I guess means it never crashes or exhibits any bugs. They ignore or never see the bugs the rest of us do because they aren't using those features or they have a clean system that doesn't interfere with their DAW... or they simply live in denial of what constitutes a bug. But more and more users have been reporting otherwise the past couple years. Some of whom used to claim "rock solid" have and some of those have even left the building. I've had nothing but crashes and bugs since X1 but I'm still here. Just the other day CbB crashed right after simply opening with no project loaded. I figure it's the price of using my laptop for EVERYTHING. A DAW specific system might not be so bug prone. -
Star ratings would mean a lot more - and be used more? - if we could see them from the forum page like Votes in the Q&A forum. Currently only visible when viewing the thread and go largely unused.

Is there a way to... 1. Stretch or shrink automation envelopes like Ctrl+Shift+drag does for clips? 2. Reduce envelope nodes after recording them? Too many nodes: Top & bottom nodes for each rise & fall are all that's needed.
-
32 bit GrooveSynth won't work in CbB but 64 bit TTS-1 and GS should work as-is in CbB. Not sure about new Sonar tho.

Seems sound is hit-n-miss unless settings are tweaked during playback.

Easiest Way To Make A Sweeping EQ Effect For 1 Track?
sjoens replied to sjoens's topic in Instruments & Effects
Basically twisting the Hi EQ Freq knob back & forth. I'm playing around with different ideas. On this synth so far the EQ sweep gives the kind of effect I'm looking for but recording real time automation creates a million nodes making it ridiculous to edit. Is there a way to reduce envelope nodes after the fact? -

I've played with it a bit but it seems to quit working after a while and doesn't retain settings as expected. Hopefully the author will improve it. -

The effect: Raise the level of one band and sweep it back and forth across the entire range. Drawing track automation? Tedious and time consuming drawing & adjusting 100's of nodes. Record automation while playing project in real time? Not so accurate. Currently trying to use PC EQ for this. -
