Found the culprit! I had installed LoopBe MIDI but never used it. However, Cakewalk decided to assign it as IN port for my interface/controller instead of the interface/controller. Deselected it in Preferences so hopefully that won't be happening again.

I wish it were that simple. I almost never use it or even near it to accidentally click it. Today the bug is back, so I'm removing the [FIXED] sign. And again I'm not editing projects but changing themes back and forth while working on a new theme.

Remove Or Replace Theme Editor Import Size Limitation With A Warning Window

Better yet, invoke drag and drop ability for importing new graphics. -
First CPU core is spiking more than other cores
sjoens replied to synkrotron's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
So many variables! I would think "Adjust for best performance of: Programs" would be the choice. Mine is set there and I've never had audio issues. Also in that window is the paging file size (virtual memory). Mine is set to auto manage but in the past (pre Win10) I've always set it to a permanent size as I didn't like Windows messing with it. Now I run 16 GB of ram and don't have any huge audio projects so for me probably not an issue. Core meter never hits over 25% and mostly stays just barely visible. -
In Preferences > Colors, go to Rules then Time Ruler Tick Marks and Track View Time Ruler Digits. Most, if not all colors in Preferences are also in TE. Time Ruler background has to be changed with TE or a color set file saved from a pre X series version of Sonar where all colors were user changeable. OAN, that's quite the Performance screen. Either you're CPU is about to blow or it's showing a row of matches.

No, I mean forum software spam filter that removes unwanted posts before we see them.

I would like to see the Import file size constraint either removed or replaced with a warning window that let's you decide if it's OK. When a user already has a set of files ready to go, the Import function is the quickest way to create a theme in TE. Simply right-click a file in TE, select Import, and pick the new file... as long as it's the same height & width. If it's not, TE won't let you import it. While you need to be aware of size constraints, in most cases you can change a graphic file's size by a few pixels either way without incident. You can get around this by opening a graphic from within TE, change it's size, save it, click OK in TE and it will accept the new size. Only then can you import another one of a different size.

Do we have Spam filter like old forum had?

Release notes said VST3 Text is now changeable in TE so how do I get the latest TE to do that? BA has it pre-checked & grayed out so I can't get it from there. Do I need to install one of the other add ons to get it? Current TE dated 4/26/18

And yet there is. So the question remains. This is the only track behaving this way, so it could be a corrupt MID track. Or maybe another incident of editing a project started in an earlier version of Sonar. Seems this always brings on weird behavior for me.

CbB 2019.01 Never seen this one before. 1. Project has 10 MIDI, 10 Synth, & 3 Audio tracks. 2. One MIDI track outputs to a Synth track with either Acoustica Instruments or CW TTS-1. 3. If I SOLO another track and hit PLAY, the above MIDI track will also play sound unless I MUTE it. 4. Muting the MIDI track's Synth track does not silence it. (How can a synth produce sound if it's MUTED?) 5. This MIDI track plays sound no-matter-what if output to Acoustica Instruments or CW TTS-1. 6. Does not happen if Synth is Dimension, SI, or others. 2nd CbB strange behavior in a month. 1st one was certain faders reverting to half volume when hitting STOP in 2018.09.

I updated to 2019.01 but the Add on TE selection is grayed out (tho checked). Do I have to install one of the other listed items (SI Suite, Drum Replacer, Melodyne) to get it? Currently TE only has VST2 Text.

Updated to 2019.01 and issue seems to be gone. Maybe aside from reverting to DEMO mode, things like this are set to go wanky if you don't log in or update.
-
Seems to be growing. Now it also affects certain MIDI tracks, moving them to 64 on STOP. Interestingly, -8.7 & 64 are the fader's mid points. Virus? Worm? Malware?

Today I have to relog in if I log out but still without the Cake logo screen (nice).
-
No & no. To my knowledge Mains can't have automation. I've never seen this behavior in 18 years of using Cakewalk. To recap: Only the left Main fader of output 1 and the track faders of certain instruments are affected. It's the STOP button that triggers the faders to move to -8.7, so something went screwy inside the box. What was I doing when it happened 1st? Working on a new theme - switching themes back an forth as I went.
-
No ideas?? It's driving me nuts.
-
Today I'm logging in without the Cakewalk logo screen showing. One less click. Also, I can log out and later back in without entering name & password as long as IE stays open.

Request to lighten the default unchanged item label text when in Dark view. Gray on gray makes it almost impossible to see.
-
No way to do that yet.

Clicking a piano key will select all the notes in that row. Clicking one note should only select that one note. FWIW, you can change note properties in the Control bar Event module. Handy when changing muliple notes simultaniously.

Resize Multiple Buses Similtaneously, Like Tracks
sjoens replied to William W. Saunders, Jr.'s topic in Feedback Loop
I didn't know this, but why the different procedure? Make more sense if they were the same.
