  1. I'm not aware of a way to "load" meter range changes into an existing project. But for future projects, just create a new project, set all the meters and save it as a template (.cwt). You have to set each View's meters thru their Menus: Track View, Console View, & Inspector. Very tedious. Right-clicking and changing won't retain upon saving. I once Feature Requested having all the meter settings in one place with a Set As Default button in Preferences so you could 'set it and forget it.'
  2. Thus a simple Yes or No may suffice. Or in this case: "Simply add the folder paths to Preferences >File >VST Settings.... then upgrade to CbB."
  3. Will try that. Link Tab says: "Sorry, you do not have permission..."

    Sonitus Plugins

The "average" user can't do this as it requires a special editor to extract and reinsert the graphic files. But it's not hard to do and won't hurt the plugin.
  5. My Behringer UFX1204 USB/Firewire has worked well for several years. A couple small issues like scratchy headphone pot and getting a bit warmer than I'd like but otherwise a solid unit. It has: 4 mono/mic, 4 stereo, & 2 AUX channels giving me 8 stereo pairs to record from, great for digitizing analog multitracks. 2 stereo channels can be used as USB/Firewire Main outs which allows the other channels to be recorded "wet" when using outboard FX. An onboard multitrack recorder with thumb drive port and a 3 year warranty make it a pretty good deal for home use.
  6. 1. There is quite good space available on the console beside the fader to make the meter a lot bigger and more detailed. The space is shared by both styles. So while true with non-segmented meters, it's not with segmented meters. What could be done is place the non-segmented meter digits beside the meters like they are with the segmented meters. 2. I would also really like to easily (not using any theme editor) set values where the meter changes colors, so you easily see where the signal resides. As far as I know, to accomplish all that, the meter code & graphics would have to be reconfigured. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ With segmented meters you can repaint the color change point with mixed results as the default point of change is -6 and everything below that point repeats/extends itself for the larger scales. A larger flyout could be added to existing code.
  7. That would be difficult as-is due to how they function.
  8. Hey, hey, Jonny, Go to Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts and Export your custom set. Then you can Import them after each update.

    Loop Point Minimum

The minimum Loop duration is an 1/8th note. On occasion I'd like to loop 1/16th or even 1/32nd note. Is there a reason or can this be changed in a future update?
  10. Was TTS-1 ever offered as a standalone? Yamaha XG brush kits have both brush hits and swirls.
  11. Yeah, I renamed a wrk file to read cwp but since CbB opens both it probably just ignored the change. No doubt renaming a cwp file to wrk and using Home Studio 9 to open it won't work.
  12. I always thought it'd be nice to have a project file for GPO's Pocket Prince demo song. Doubtful they used Cakewalk to create it tho.
  13. Were the Expansion Packs part of Garritan's sounds? To me the GPO - Flute V Legato sample sounds identical to the Expansion Pack 1 - RGC Flute in The Venue minus a little reverb?
  14. Was this mentioned? Check your track "Input" button to make sure the Yamaha is selected with (channel 1 or omni) instead of the CW virtual controller. My Yamaha PSR540 also Keeps the MIDI interface light lit continuously. Must be a Yamaha thing. Since I don't use it as a controller, I leave that cable disconnected.
  15. In fact.... .. ....... . the file formats are so similar (if not exactly) you can change "wrk" file extentions to "cwp" & vice versa with little to no incident. Kinda like "cwres" (cakewalk resource) files are really "ini" files. You can open a "wrk" file in CbB, but you can only save it as a "cwp" file. ?
  16. What you call "playlist" is actually "Track View." The Playlist is an entirely different window in the "Save As" menu.
  17. Similar story here with a 1992 Ensoniq SQ'2 & Home Studio 9. When you think about it, Cakewalk still does the same MIDI stuff it originally did. .cwp files are very similar to the old .wrk files and have always been compatible. Old .bun files not always so much. Definitaly move your old ESQ files to modern media as old media can fail over time. I put mine on CDs before the original floppies & the disk reader no longer worked.
  18. Right. And thanks Promidi for your explanations. I actual understand all that, I'm just dreaming about how I'd like it to be. MIDI started in the early '80s and evolved thru the '90s. MIDI 2 in 2017/2020. As I understand it, MIDI 2 will only work with devices supporting it, not our current devices.
  19. Yes. Turn the grid at PRV's top right corner OFF and it follows the main Snap routine. Nice having both tho.
  20. It might be. In 20 years I've never seen this, so I'd also be interested in what the Event List has to say.
  21. There's times when you need one note to bend 1 semitone and another to bend 2, or one up and one down, etc. I don't really understand Articulation Tracks and may never - but - It might be cool if Take Lanes on a single MIDI track could be used to handle this. Or a 3rd lane specific to them.
  22. ^ This. My hardware synth/sequencer has built in option of bending the last note of a chord but cant be done like that in CbB's PRV. And not aware of any virtual instruments set up that way. Maybe the new articulation track can do it??
  23. How to update: 1. Uninstall Assistant 2. Download latest Assistant from: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021665974-BandLab-Assistant-won-t-update-#:~:text=If you see an update, existing version of BandLab Assistant. 3. Install latest Assistant
