  1. Great song! I especially like the bassline which is mostly heard during the quieter parts (which could be due to my listening environment). -Bjorn
  2. Well, hardly a train wreck. And anyway, you've been blessed with that great country voice that grabs all the attention. If you hadn't mentioned the pedal steel, I guess I wouldn't have thought it was missing. But since you mentioned it, I think it would sound really good here. I like the Indiginus Steel Guitar which is fairly easy to control the various articulations, it sounds pretty good and the price is right (though you need the full Kontakt sampler) -Bjorn
  3. Lynn, Thanks for the comment. Appreciate it. Steve, Thank you. I had to stop and think about what you said and yeah, it really has been years getting together in this virtual place with you and several others. I think I know some of you better than my real life friends. -Bjorn

    Zaragosa

Steve, thanks! Actually I did more piano roll editing than playing here. Jack, tom Paul - thanks for listening and commenting. David, it started off sounding a lot like Malaguena but not after all the edits I made.

    Zaragosa

This started off as a Malaguena sounding Spanish guitar song. But I couldn't get the guitar to sound the way I wanted so I tried different instruments (Joshua Bell Violin was close) and finally settled on piano. I could have spent even more time tweaking the melody and esp the accompaniment but you have to call it finished at some point so here it is. Thanks for any comments/suggestions. -Bjorn NI Kontakt Grandeur Piano Omnisphere Strings Heavyocity Vocalise Gravity Pack 02 NI Raum reverb.
  6. Thanks everyone David, the voice is from a free sample library from Future Music Mag (I think) a few years. I think the artist's name is "Coady" judging by the name I gave the folder. And yeah, I don't go to downtown PDX much anymore either. -Bjorn
  7. tom, I used to live near Recreation Park at that time. So you were the guys making all that racket over there? ? -Bjorn

    phone

Jack, I can hear a very promising song in there but there's extraneous stuff keeping it down. Not sure if I can give you better advice than others already have except to say you should keep at it on this one. -Bjorn

    Agua Fria

The Yamaha (and your playing) sounds really good Kurt. It transports me to some idyllic place far away from the world. ? -Bjorn
  10. Simple but engaging melody. Very nice -Bjorn
  11. Beautiful and melodic. I like the arrangement of flute and whatever stringed instrument that is. ? -Bjorn

    Poison

I had trouble understanding the lyrics so wasn't sure what the story is about. But the song has an ominous tone to it which maybe explains the singer in the lake. Very strong vocal performance. -Bjorn
  13. Sound textures is a good way to describe ambient pieces like this. Nice! Thoroughly enjoyed it. -Bjorn
  14. tom That wouldn't be the Recreation Park in Long Beach, CA would it? Nice job on the cover. I like the guitar work and the extra expression you put in the vocals. ? -Bjorn
  15. Hey Nigel, I'm not seeing any reason why YT would ban the video Pretty sure you can appeal the ban and an actual human will look into it. Anyway, I like the video and song. The production has a different look to it than what I'm used to seeing from you, so maybe that's a result of your newer camera person. -Bjorn
  16. Very strong production. Your voice fits the genre extremely well. I thought the vocal is too upfront at the beginning. The panned voc at 1:54 and 1:56 is just a bit gimmicky. I enjoyed the song very much. Very well done. -Bjorn
  17. I like covers that don't sound exactly like the original so I'm liking your made-it-your-own version. I thought the voc could use some (or more) treatment like reverb or double tracking (or bit of delay - not sure) Anyway, very well done. -Bjorn
  18. Very good. Couple of suggestions (just my 2 cents): Need to change it up or maybe use less of that same refrain at the beginning and elsewhere. Or make some cuts to bring out the quieter sections which have a very nice airy feel to them. Flute is a bit thin. I thought I heard a human voice in there? I was expecting it to make another appearance but don't think it did. -Bjorn

    Elevator

Definitely not elevator music. Hard to comment on genres that I'm not really into, but have to admire the musicianship and arrangement that went into this. So very good. -Bjorn
  20. Your music always has a lot going on in the background which works quite well, especially with your unique voice on top. I always discover more layers with each listen. Clever lyrics too make for an all around great song. -Bjorn

    It's a D thing

Yeah, D is okay but Dm - wow!. ? I like the exploration feel to this - try something, see where it goes, that went well, continue on. Always enjoy your songs Wookie -Bjorn
  22. Sounds like something Ricky Nelson might have done (way) back in the day. I like the heartfelt sentiment of the song and your straightforward delivery. Very well done. -Bjorn
  23. Jesse goes Beastie Boys or thereabouts. Nice! I found myself tapping my foot like a dog wagging its tail. -Bjorn
  24. So it's just the same phrase and video clip over and over again? -Bjorn
  25. Thumbs up. Very well produced and arranged song. Sounds pro to me. Just my opinion and it's a matter of taste, but I thought the chorus could stand out a bit more from the verses. -Bjorn
