  1. Your unique style is always interesting for sure. Lyrics are very good. I thought you could change it up a bit but that's just me. -Bjorn

    It's About Time

It's About Time I like this as an instrumental but decided to add some vocal bits here and there. Not sure how well they worked in the song though. Thanks for listening/commenting. -Bjorn
  3. Nice one David. Really good orchestration. -Bjorn
  4. Freddy, I just love the traditional blues progressions going on in the background. "Too much time for thinking" fits right in with the blues theme. -Bjorn

    A Soft Parade

That main synth reminds me of the 70s somehow, maybe Wendy Carlos? I like how the machine gun percussion seems to turn the page to another theme -Bjorn
  6. Nigel, boy I really like the visuals in this one. Fits the music perfectly. Hope things are going well for you. Sounds like crazy stuff going on where you live -Bjorn
  7. Steve, Such a beautiful song! Makes you appreciate how the accompanying parts can add so much to the main melody and lyrics. -Bjorn
  8. Lynn, A reminder that the seemingly insignificant has a huge impact when they're gone. I really like how the song builds up to a powerful ending. -Bjorn
  9. Very nice! Enjoyed listening to this on a lazy afternoon. I'm not familiar with Jon Hassell. Will have to check out his music. -Bjorn
  10. Steev, I must have heard this song a million times but never as a cover. Great job on what you did with it! You kept a lot of the original sound but also made it your own version. To my ears the bottom is lacking a bit so I think I would tweak the lower freqs up or lower the highs. Just my take, that's all. -Bjorn
  11. Freddy, I really like the sentiment in the lyrics. Some kind of disconnect between the voc and instrument not quite synced up or something? Bluesy guitar is excellent as always. Looks like that hurricane is headed your way? -Bjorn
  12. I was into Tai Chi for a while. All we had for music was boring New Age stuff, nothing like your kind of JM Jarre style track. Really good use of those synths at your disposal. Very relaxing, relaxing ... and then I became alert ~4:00 ? -Bjorn
  13. I really, really liked this one John. May be the best one I've heard from you. And I know just what you mean about the Northern Lights and Wonderment. Beautiful. -Bjorn
  14. I'm not into guitar talk much but I will say this sounds really good. Maybe that's the "tone" you guitar guys are always on about whatever I enjoyed the listen. -Bjorn
  15. Doug, A+ and thumbs up. Great job. -Bjorn

    Tigris

Paul, thanks for the comment. I had a lot of trouble with the intro bit and I'm still not sure if I like it or even if I needed it for that matter. Jack C thanks again Steve, thanks I do appreciate the comments. Yeah, I knew the flute was used a bit too much and I tried to balance it out with the saz, but I just couldn't come up with a good way to do it. Maybe I should have strayed away from using mid east instruments there dunno. Anyway, thanks again. Mark thanks for the suggestion. Will definitely look into the flute volume - hadn't even noticed that! John B Thank you! Treesha Yeah, I wasn't even sure about the vocals being in there so I appreciate your comment. Nigel thanks! Doug thanks. I'm sort of jack of all trades master of none. Yeah, the Syria voices has that nice mid east mystery to them. Hidden Symmetry Thanks!

    Love is Bliss

Well, don't have any useful comments except your songs always sound so radio ready. Very professional production there. -Bjorn

    Fairfax

Mark, this is really nice. I like how you used the cello in a couple of your other songs and it would sound great in this one too. So, "Fairfax" as in the drum kit in Addictive Drums? Maybe you've already seen this, but Creative Sauce has a great tutorial on AD https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/31039-how-to-use-addictive-drums-2-in-cakewalk-by-bandlab/ -Bjorn

    Tigris

I have the Discovery Series Middle East instruments from NI Komplete so I decided to try for a middle east sounding kind of song. I also have East West Voices of Passion that I bought a long time ago during a sale and never used it until now. Thanks for listening or commenting. NI Discovery Series Middle East - frame drum, kudum drum, saz string instrument Syria voices from East West Voices of Passion Diva - flute Zebra - keys
  21. Love how you take an old traditional tune and bring them back to life using modern instruments and techniques. -Bjorn
  22. Sven Welcome to the forum. I'm listening through headphones. Sounds good overall but I think the low end could be boosted. -Bjorn
  23. Steve, I really like this one! Lovely melody, a bit classical sounding. I think the strings need to be toned down a bit and maybe not so much swell to them. I thought the tempo was too fast on first impression but now I'm not sure. I like the bird like high pitched flute (?). Hope you do more of these. -Bjorn
  24. Very nice. I'd suggest bring up the flute a bit and add a little reverb to it. -Bjorn
  25. I'm still stuck in the previous century so I had to Google hyperpop. Did you use the matrix view in Cake to make the song? Seems like it could be useful for this genre. -Bjorn
