  1. It should definitely be fine when you set it up for Mackie Control.
  2. It's possible there might be something weird with the file too if it's not opening in CbB. It should open though- you could try Safe Mode (holding shift when clicking open on the file from within Cakewalk) and click NO TO ALL when prompted about loading plugins.
  3. You probably have Stop at Project End turned on. It's in the Track View's Options menu.
  4. Cakewalk by BandLab is not going anywhere anytime soon. If anything changes on that front, there would be plenty of advance notice. We have no desire to pull the rug out from anybody. All of your projects from Cakewalk by BandLab and before will all continue to be fine in the new Sonar version as well. Also as has been said in a dozen other threads, the current plan for the new Sonar pricing should be very agreeable to most folks. Nothing is fully finalized, so we can't give out details, but the team is still very hard at work on all aspects of the new version and its delivery. This is unlikely as part of the user agreement for having free CbB is that it requires you to be connected to BandLab. All that's required of this is to have access to free software is the login. That's called cracked/pirated software, aka intellectual property theft. There's some plans in the works for some of this, obviously I can't give any details at this time.
  5. @Alan Bachman You can definitely open .wrk files in Cakewalk by BandLab. Obviously ancient plugins might not be there, but the file format is compatible with CbB. As far as some of the plugs go, you might have more luck recovering those if you have a 32-bit SONAR install, but all the actual data will load in 64-bit fine.
  6. Sad news indeed. My dad actually knew Dave back in the day. Their shop in Flemington is where I bought my #1 Les Paul and Jazz Bass (among others), although that location has been gone for a little while now.
  7. You have Pro Audio 7 and 8 serials registered to your email. You'd need an old version of Windows to get those to work properly though. There's no downloads for any of those versions as they long predate making those available.
  8. It's possible the plugin is in a bad state and reinserting it will work. You can always save a copy of the project with a new instance and see if it works any better
  9. @tdehan Looks like the crash is in VSCO2 Orchestra.dll that's corrupting memory. That would indicate it should open in safe mode if you choose not to load the plugins.
  10. If the issue persists you can send us the dump file from the crash and we can check on our end.
  11. I mean, you could do a counter-gain/volume envelope on audio that has a pre-existing fade printed on it. You'll raise the noise floor the whole time though.
  12. This has been discussed enough on other threads as well, we don't need to rehash it again here. Thanks!
  13. I'm going to lock this thread just as this same convo has run its course on... numerous other threads, nothing personal @Rickddd. When all the pricing stuff is finalized, we'll let everybody know, but as of right now (and mentioned elsewhere) the current plans we have on deck should be agreeable with most people here. We can't say much beyond that, but we just ask that people be patient. Thanks!
  14. If you have a dump file for the crash we can take a look into it.
  15. While I would hope a pending fix from them would resolve any issues, but can we please refrain from publicly listing beta installers for third party companies here? Thanks!
  16. Can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing?
  17. Not at the moment, Sonar isn't in open beta.
  18. Discord is more of a chat than a forum. It kind of splits the difference between a forum and an app like Slack
  19. They might not have been registered correctly with the update install. @Promidi's suggestion about redoing the Microsoft redists (either separately or by re-running a Cakewalk install) would be the first thing I'd try as well.
  20. If you're not seeing the sign in page, check if you have your default browser running somewhere. It sounds like there's something stopping the webpage launching with the sign in. Note that you have to use a sign in page that was opened by Cakewalk for it to work.
  21. Odd, I just verified it's still working on Win 8.1 on our end. Possible there's something else going on with your other system locally, but we specifically built the updated Command Center with the old compiler so that there wouldn't be any compatibility issues from subsequent updates.
  22. Command Center should be fine on Windows 7/8. We just recompiled it with the old compiler to update it for the new back end locations. Windows 8 went EOL at the beginning of the year, so the new Sonar will only be officially supported on Win 10 and above, but odds are likely fine it'll be fine on Win 8.1, at least for a while. Win 7 can't do the graphics stuff... display scaling there is a nightmare comparatively. In either case it doesn't really make much sense on our end to put the time into doing OS specific testing on operating systems that aren't supported by Microsoft at this point.
  23. That's just a benign dialog that can sometimes appear with the updated version of Command Center. It's a known issue, but you can simply close the dialog.
