Any good?

I have heard good things about it, here are a couple of reviews from good sources...

I haven't checked it out yet myself, got too many irons in the fire at the moment.

Bitwig Studio is listed as $149?

Does Bitwig go this cheap? The upgrade is $129, only $20 difference...? I wish upgrade price were cheaper.

With Version 5 Bitwig introduced three versions (actually two new versions and did away with 8 track or whatever the more limited offering(s) used to be).  Producer is selling direct for $149 right now.  "Bitwig Studio"  is $299.  You might be fine with that, but be sure to check the differences!

Want to save a couple of bucks with Bitwig Studio?

Get an 8 track license, register it, then upgrade** to Studio - $129.  Edit/Correction $259.
If you can't get one from a friend - search KVR
https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=43
for "8track" or Bitwig  - you might score a free or cheap license.

Note if you install 8 Track version of Bitwig - you'll get version 5.
It's still 8 Track (not Essential version) but aside from missing unlimited track it looks like has all the v5 features.
**Looks like upgrade price is valid till July 21st.

I have Bitwig Studio 8-Track and the full upgrade is $259 for me ($359 - $100 summer sale discount).  Is the above the price for upgrade from 16-Track?

Indeed it is...
You're right 8 track to full Studio is $259.
Don't know what the heck I was thinking... (multitasking mental error)
Still better than $299 non-upgrade price.

I have BT studio 8 track ver 3. I see following prices.

259 USD / 259 EUR for studio

129 USD / 129 EUR for producer

69 USD / 69 EUR for essentials.

I see an offer for upgrade to 5 which I guess is free. Should I bother? Did they remove things from 3 that were useful?

Upgrade is free if you see something like this saying it's included in your plan:

otherwise the message is an advertisement to upgrade.

Bitwig installs each version in a different folder.  At least the Windows versions do, so I assume the Mac versions do as well.
Older versions remain on your system till uninstalled.

To run an older version of Bitwig in Windows you'll need to create shortcut for it.
If you haven't installed the newer version yet - copy the current shortcut and rename it to, for example, "Bitwig Studio 3".
Otherwise the current shortcut gets overwritten with each install.

If you've already installed a newer version then you'll need to create a shortcut to the older one from scratch.
Here's a screenshot from my system with the shortcut properties shown.
