  1. I find it way easier to play it in and quantize to get the midi in cakewalk . An even better way to to scan it in. Their are some great music scanning apps. They work extremely well. (Unless it is hand written). If it is difficult to play, you could slow down the tempo and the play to 1/2 or even 1/4 tempo. I have played in 100’s of 4-10 part songs. The good thing about playing them in (even with a mediocre performance) is that you could quantize 50% and still have something that’s not robotic sounding. You could use one of those scan apps for a 2 week trial and get a ton of songs in the computer. (They will be mechanical sounding). You could randomize them for a more natural sound.
  2. I’m looking for a different way to listen. I see some big studio guys with earbuds. I want to do some listening that way. Bass is way fuller and different on earbuds. I want to move out of the studio too. I have an old EV guitar wireless I could put on the boards headphone out(if I can get the gain low enough- I think I have some transformers somewhere???). I can put the receiver and hardwired buds elsewhere. I think I’ll try using it this way and see how the quality is. Thanks for this idea! I’ll let you know if/how well this works lol! Oh yea and I didn’t have to buy anything!
  3. I was concerned about latency. Is their one that has good drivers or are the drivers actually the Bluetooth t device.
  4. I was thinking about wireless. Do wireless earbuds have good and bad drivers? Are most Bluetooth drivers the same?
  5. TC helicon https://mediadl.musictribe.com/media/PLM/data/docs/P0DEH/VOICELIVE PLAY_M_EN.pdf starts Page 21-26 Copy the text blocks for the effects To make the ins file https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/create-own-instrument-definitions-cakewalk-sonar/ cake- https://legacy.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Instrument_Defs.16.html i think one of the links on this page has the ins you want
  6. I do what you are asking for. I have a cakewalk song with 1 track. That track has 5 sends to 5 reverb/ echo buses. When I save it as a track template and insert it into a song, it creates all 5 buses with each reverb/echo effect with all the plug-in settings just the way yiu want them. Also all the buses that those reverb/echo tracks use, plus the Main bus , Master bus and effects buses. All I have to do is just delete the track and all the reverb buses and sub buses and master buses stay and are ready for use. I have another with saturation buses that I am tweaking now. I have another with my version of a bus compression technic by Michael Brauer called Brauerizing. It is my version of multibus, multiparallel compression technic. I have also use a bunch of FX chains. FX chains can contain any vst, not pro-channel related at all. Some of my FX chains are just a Renaissance EQ and a Renaissance Compressor. Some are complex like my snare with Pro-Q3, Rbass, Vitamin, Kiive Xtressor, SPL Transient, Root One, bx_subsynth and Denise-Noize. I don’t usually use all these on every snare. I just turn them off and on, and tweak them till I like the sound. When I’m finished I delete the ones that didn’t fit this song. I don’t just have one reverb bus template. For instance I have several reverb/bus templates for different styles of music. I have some with Elvis style slapback echo and some with Acustica’s Lemon set to super long echo. Some of those are so long I think they bounce all the way to the end of the next song lol!!! These bus/track creations is how you build “your” sound. This track/bus templates will save you a ton of work a stimulate your creative juices. All this and we haven’t even talked about fancy routings that can be included in these with Aux buses and patch points. Then we have Cantable and waves Studio rack. Now the routing can look like a 10 story office building network phone patchbay.
  7. How do you pick some earbuds with descent latency? How about Soft silicone ear fittings? Does Bluetooth have ASIO drivers? What are some of the better brands? List your favorite in any of these categories $24 $50 $100-$120 $200 Thanks for any help! Max
  8. I’ve done my share of fixing bad tracks for people. I wasn’t insinuating anything about you or this guys playing. Just trying to help. What mettlus said Did you read what Noel wrote? He is one of the Main programmers of cakewalk. Set/Measure Beat At Now could help you Do this once per measure or once every 2 measures. I would probably do quick groups and edit the really bad parts with quick group edits. With quick group you can simultaneously edit as many tracks as you want at one time. Then I would pick one track that is the best and do Set/Measure Beat At Now. Lastly I would do individual edits to move the worst timed parts/notes/phrases closer to the correct timing.
  9. What mettelus said works. It can be labor intensive. You can google a video. I have watched a couple. Once you get the hang of it you will be able to move fairly quickly thru the song. If is doesn't sound close to correct there is no software that will fix this. You have to manually cut sections out and scoot things around. Once you have it close you could use Set/Measure Beat At Now. It works great. If it’s a great song or he is paying you well for you services, I can understand why you would go to the trouble to fix it. Good songs can rarely be created by fixing things. You can get the notes to line up with a beat just fine with software, but good music is not usually lined up perfectly to a beat. It usually has small ebbs and flows. It pushes the beat on a chorus then falls back on a verse. How could you line this up? If it is electronic or such it’s ok to have exact timing. On the far other side is a ballad which probably does not lock to the beat. Here is a very good explanation of Set/Measure Beat At Now by Noel Borthwick https://noelborthwick.com/cakewalk/2014/09/12/sync-your-daw-audio/
  10. I couldn’t find mcclouds, but here is one from a google search https://youtu.be/LF8g-3KdzcE? talkin about low floor noise lol!
  11. I usually use markers for the verse/chorus/prechorus/other. This way I can 1 select the tracks I want to work on 2 click between the markers on the ruler 3 while holding down the CTRL add a clip gain 4 move the mouse to a darkened area caused by the marker selection. The cursor changes. Drag this area down and it will automatically add the nodes and move the selected env area down on all selected tracks. You could drag up or down. Mccloud made a great short video clip on it. I wish I could locate it for you. you can : add all types of envelopes automate multiple envelopes change multiple effect/reverb sends You could change the volume of 50 tracks at the same time! You can do a ton of stuff with this. It is called quick group if you want to search and study it. Edit - quick groups is a good thing to learn, but adding a group bus to use for volume automation is simplifying things not making it more difficult.
  12. Yes. you could add gain envelope to multiple tracks. While hold down the CTRL key you can then select multiple tracks and lower volume use the new gain clip volume tool. The CTRL key will make it happen on all selected tracks. You can do other things too with multiple tracks and the CTRL key like: change the reverb levels, lower the gain or volume knobs., add multiple sends. Keep the CTRL key down when making edits.
  13. Dust is an insulator. I think heat from clogged heatsink fins could slow the processor. If cooling is degraded enough, your components could thermal throttle or even shut down. Dry ice would be better than dust. 🥶 you could really over lock it then. 👍
  14. Wow this is a HAPPY DAY. It’s also sad I have been clocked at 3510-3512 for who knows how long. I can’t wait for 4500!!!!😊
  15. Hey Jim - I am running at 3.4 Device Manage says Core i7 2500K @ 3.4GHz. Can This be upped?
  16. I read the fine print. It has some weird stuff in it. Thanks,
 Max Arwood
  17. Is this a real deal? It seems awfully cheap.
  18. I am demoing it too. I can’t decide.
  19. Thanks for this thread/info!
  20. No extra coupon here either. I did get Voxbox a couple of days ago. It is definitely worth $39. I have everything offered in PA, Waves or other versions, but I was thinking about getting one more. What is your favorite of the $89-$39 variety?
  21. I don’t have any UAD plugins so, I’m wondering 2 things. 1 how bad are they on CPU? 2 how much better are they than other vendors like Schep 73, Puigchild, Puigtec, CLA2A, CLA3A, PA Lindell,PA others?? Thanks
  22. It doesn’t really work that way. The program has to be installed. If your songs are missing, look in the recycle bin. If you projects are not in the recycle bin, you would have to use an undelete/recovery program. https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva
  23. Lustrous plates is my least favorite of their plugins. It was fun playing with the different metals, but it never ended up in a template or song.
  24. I use the plug-in menu save sometimes, but I save to a folder with subs for different plugins/vendors. You will not loose presets this way! Nothing like after the fact suggestions. Sorry. Did you modify the preset very much?
