  1. "Close the Door" - Teddy Pendergrass Original album title - Music to make you pregnant !
  2. Well, sure, yeah, and I have the chops....call me lazy but I can spend some amount of time parsing logs and setting up proxy, etc (and always wondering what I missed), or I can pull out the ethernet cord on the network with the gateway. Problem with being blue team is you have to be perfect on defense, whereas red team just needs one play. I already have a segmented network broken out into "Stuff I don't trust or care about" (IoT) and "Stuff I care about and have to be able to trust". For what I need out of a DAW machine, if it IS on the network at all it is already within the perimeter of the trusted side for NAS access to assets on other machines. Of course there is NAT but NAT can be traversed if a system within is exploitable, and even with a firewall, well known ports need to be open within the walls and some to the rest of the internets. In the end, I went for the upgrade to Windows 10 after all, ultimately for the simple reason that I finally felt it was time and it is a LOT more convenient to have the system on the LAN

When you say "Bypass the cab" you mean with an emulator, right? You'll burn out a real tube amp power section if there is no load on the speaker outputs.
  6. The ability to re- download will depend completely on whether you set up an SSO account. If you didn't they can still find your license keys and activation codes (or at least they could find mine) but you're on your own to find an installer. I think the SSO thing came along the time of Platinum, but X1, X2, X3 didn't need it.
  7. "More than a Feeling" - Boston In honor of AWESOME home studio engineering!!
  8. I would have figured Homer for a short-scale guy...

    Ampeg or not Ampeg

Yeah - I think every emulator is trying to create the Jamerson/Dunn B15Ns (erm Motown/Stax?) ...so the 64 or 67 models. Different bias circuit and cabinet between the two, and the 70s model are different again. Those switches didn't exist until the later models like you have, and don't exist on the re-issues (which are based on the 67). It's like the fact that no one ever bothered to model the late 70s Bassman 10 with its ultra-linear transformer and master volume. Despite being a GREAT amp, it just doesn't have any cache. Guitar players generally hate it because it refuses to break up, for bass with a Clean, "piano-like" tone it's everything I want. Even though Jamerson actually recorded into a DI at Motown, the legend persists. He played a Kustom (with tucknroll) out in almost every picture I have seen of him, but did see his B-15N in a picture of him in a later LA session (probably at Sunset from the decor).

    exporting audio

I mean - if you are creating the project in Cakewalk, just use the export function in there, then import the final projected mixed to your liking straight to the iPad and skip Bandlab altogether...maybe use dropbox or whatever. I haven't really dove into the Bandlab export tool to find the "No, you insolent piece of software, just give me MY mix, not what YOU think it should be" button but maybe there is one
  16. are both set for same timing values and sample rates?
  17. I've been very old skool, but am embracing tracking stuff dry now, and doing eq and compression after the fact. Even using off board gear rather than VSTs, it's another layer of control. Back when my interface was just Delta-1010s , the pre-amp had to be offboard anyway so I ALWAYS did the initial compression/EQ up front, but now with good preamps in my interface I am liking being able to non destructively twiddle the knobs until I am satisfied.
  18. "Summertime" - Big Brother and the Holding Company ( I used Billie Holiday last time - but Janis Joplin did a distinctive cover...)
  19. I love this video ...and I rest my case 🙂 Old school musicians just call it a "Normal progression..." What I REALLY love about this, is at 4 bars for each "Song" it isn't even copyright infringment !
  20. "Think" - Aretha Franklin Again...Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn!
  21. First place to look will be your Buffer size in Preverences > Devices> Driver Settings. Slide more towards Safe and see if that doesn't get it.
  22. What do you call a girl that hangs out with musicians? A groupie What do you call a guy that hangs out with musicians? The Bass Player (I am allowed to make this joke...)

    exporting audio

This is in the Bandlab mastering tool I presume? If so, it seems to want to make a lot of decisions for you - I think it's assuming you want a normal mix that sounds "Right" on a gadget or smartphone....Might want to export right within Cakewalk.
  25. "I Don't Think About You" - Kelly Clarkson
