  1. When you look in the Event List view, do you see the extra notes or only the ones you recorded?
  2. There is an ACT preset for the axiom 61. Follow the instructions posted by Mark and post back if you experience any problems.
  3. @msmcleod beat me to it. Follow his instructions to use ACT. Let us know if you experience any trouble.
  4. You mean this old site?
  5. Have a look at my response in this thread. It may help you.
  6. Depending on the implementation, the notes might still be treated as distinct notes (you'll hear each note's entire envelope) but the second note will start at the pitch of the previous note and slide to its own pitch. If this is what you are hearing then you will probably need to use pitch bend to achieve the result you want.
  7. To see how to assign different channels to different tracks so that they don't interfere with one another, see MIDI files, projects, tracks, and clips Then, to change instruments, see Controlling which sounds you hear
  8. Once you've created a free account to download the MIDI 2.0 specifications you can also ask MIDI 2.0 questions in the forum where I see MMA members providing official answers.
  9. @Jim Fogle, yes the article you link to is an excellent one. The article I linked to talks about concepts (like MIDI, plug-ins and loops) and gives some examples of software, including GarageBand for Mac but also Sonar Music Creator and Acoustica Mixcraft for PC. The word "PC" appears more times than the word "Mac", I personally don't get the feeling they're biased toward the Mac. However, if you feel I should remove the link I will. It's not as detailed as the article you linked to. Let me know what you want me to do.
  10. You're welcome. 😀 Let us know if you're still having trouble.
  11. You don't need to copy it anywhere special. Carefully follow @Variorum's installation instructions. 👍
  12. That is a better fit. Thanks for chiming in.
  13. If you prefer to watch a video, have a look at How to Connect a MIDI Keyboard to a Computer in the tutorials section of this forum. 🎓
  14. Welcome to Cakewalk! For starters, have a look at Hardware setup in the documentation. Then have a look at Controlling which sounds you hear in the documentation. You can also download the documentation as a PDF document from the "Cakewalk by BandLab" menu at the top of this page.
  15. One of the first questions beginners ask is "What should I get?" For starters, I generally point them to How to Set Up the Ultimate Desktop Recording Studio, despite the hyperbolic title. 😉
  16. I am not aware of any. I began writing a technical reference several years ago, but it's not finished and the project has languished. Go ahead and ask as many questions as you like. The answers will help other Axiom users too.
  17. You first need to know what MIDI messages the VST recognizes. These will differ from one VST to the next. Then you can program the M-Audio Axiom to transmit the recognized messages. The M-Audio Axiom is highly configurable, which eliminates the need to use anything to translate MIDI messages on the fly. I have a first generation M-Audio Axiom 25. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
  18. @Stephen Simmons see my reply (5 replies up) in this thread. It is what @Soft Enerji was responding to.
  19. You might also want to make sure that the "Allow applications to take exclusive control" check box is not checked.
  20. Can you successfully record from the mic in any other software on your computer?
  21. My recommendation would be to allow the Microsoft updates. If you experience problems afterward, and you can definitively identify the update as the source of the problem, then Windows allows you to roll back updates. I personally keep my workstation as up-to-date as possible and I have yet to experience a problem with CbB that was caused by an update. As always, your mileage may vary. 😜
  22. It is. The Matrix 4 is in pre-production. ...oh wait... Please post feature requests in the Feedback Loop forum. This thread is about topics for Craig to write explanatory articles about. 👍
  23. There is also a link to the latest reference guide PDF file in the "Cakewalk by BandLab" menu at the top of every Web page in this forum.
  24. @Jaime Ramírez unfortunately, that's not enough info. What build of Windows 10 are you running?
