  1. I remembered this was asked before. For example (click on "msmcleod replied to a topic" to get to the specific post in that lengthy thread where he mentions using the Inspector to set Foreground and Background) :
  2. I only know about stuff that I explore. Generally I defer to others who know more than I do. As for the lists with the colors, I only had those on my PC while I was exploring some of the Early Access Releases as I mentioned. Some background, Cakewalk has a lot customization possibilities. Some are relatively easy to do as a Cakewalk user and can be done within Cakewalk itself. Some require a deeper understanding. Cakewalk has a theme editor which is handy for those really users into developing full themes and for customizing themes. I have old-age related vision issues. That's why I decided to learn how to use the theme editor--to try to make things easier on my eyesight. As for the colors in the list (VST, VST3, DX), it helped my eyesight to have the bright colors and was hoping the general releases would keep the ability to customize them, but I assume the developers (who I admire and respect) had reasons not to keep it that way. Sorry to confuse you (and maybe others), I was trying to pinpoint for you the approximate time frame for when I really noticed the font difference that you were asking about.
  3. It was around March or April of 2021 that they were presenting it in Early Access releases. At one point, I was exploring what kind of theme-able customizations were in the EA versions. However, the official release didn't have the colorizable options I explored. After that, if I recall correctly, there were some more tweaks to make it easier to see the flyout boxes. Just so you know, fonts are not customizable. PS: To my eye the font in the EA release (see link above) seems the same as today.
  4. I noticed the slight different fonts before but it never bothered me. PS: I think I noticed it when the fly-out menus for FX plug-ins were introduced and refined. I think someone called them flatbed menus at one point.
  5. Joe Walsh, Ringo Starr, Benmont Tench, Waddy Wachtel, Lee Sklar and Russ Kunkel
  6. Not based on anything I read, just based on some Roland gear I have, but I thought TTS-1 used the PCM samples Roland used extensively in hardware ROMplers. I never did a systematic comparison of things like the MT-32 sounds with the M-GS64 sounds, but I seem to recall from using them a while back that the PCM sounds were far less dull.
  7. I never used my bundled XLN AD2 perk that came with SONAR way back when, but the drummer in that section has inspired me to finally get off the fence and get the MALLETS pack! 😜
  8. Traffic's version of Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys was from 1971. So was Graham Nash's Military Madness. So much sadness . . . BONUS TRACK!!!!!!! Traffic live version from 1972 (13'46" concert video).
  9. (1) Do all of the controls respond to MIDI CCs? (2) Do all of the control have MIDI learn?
  10. I tend to get issues like some of these due to Microsoft's so-called energy management. Even if I fine tune all my system settings ("Windows, don't ***** with the settings I intentionally chose!!!"), there will be an update that undoes my preferences because . . . . [well, just because "they" can].
  11. Not free as in free beer or free as in freedom, but free as long as you cancel the subscription for the other things in time.
  12. I like the beats! We all have different styles. My mind's ears hear some sections of different layers, such as various mellow, evolving swirling swooshes of different textures. But its your creation. Maybe the ideas from my mind's ears will resonate with your creative impulses; maybe not. Thanks for sharing.
  13. I found this odd considering how many forum members here have mentioned using Cakewalk and the fact that Cakewalk is listed here [see Supported Hosts] and includes "Bandlab" underneath Cakewalk. Maybe the person who did those tests and that page might no longer be there. It even says: "X1 and newer is highly recommended. There were known problems when surround was enabled." Someone at some point evidently wrote that.
  14. I had CbB open, got the toaster pop-up, and did the latest update. It was smooth and seamless. Thanks. I am on Windows 10 Pro PC (21H2; BIOS = 2011).
  15. I don't know the official answer. But, ever since I started with CbB, it has been connected to my Bandlab account. I thought we needed to have a Bandlab account. Back in the days before the in-app updater, I needed to use Bandlab Assistant. Therefore I had to be connected via a Bandlab account. I didn't know that wasn't true for everyone. Plus with recent Cakewalk updates, I can now publish to and download from my Bandlab account. See File > Browse Bandlab and File and File > Publish to Bandlab. I just assumed that the ease of transferring between the two requires synchronization of the accounts. Personally, I have gotten used to the YYYY.MM format (as in 2022.02). Update # 1 seems more user friendly than referring to a build number.
  16. Not sure if it will solve the problem, but might be worth trying to fix. As for a CAL script to help, I defer to others who use them.
  17. The first mashup I ever heard. Go Home Productions "2000 Light Years From Bolan" Rolling Stones-T.Rex . I haven't listened to this in a few years, though. So thanks for the reminder.
  18. Am I misreading your event list? I am seeing duplicated notes. If I am reading that correctly, are the duplicated notes intentional?
  19. Yup. That's what I am afraid of: WWIII, world-wide nuclear destruction (direct and indirect) , fallout, etc. The nuclear weapon threat is totally abhorrent. Musicians of the World Unite!
  20. Maybe Musicians of the World need to lobby the UN to get protected status that transcends geo-political divisions. Kind of like: PS: Feel free to send this statement to the political leaders where you live, but please don't make it political (i.e., favoring one party or another, etc.). Thanks.
  21. That is the unfortunate thing about war. Lots of totally innocent people get hurt. As I used to say to my kids when they were small, "I don't care who started it, it has to stop."
  22. I also saw it at KVR maybe a month or so ago. IIRC it was not for existing products, but for new products though I could be misremembering that. If it was for updating existing products I might have gotten through more than 7/8 of the NDA. UPDATE: Confirmed; new products (at least the notice I saw).
  23. Just my opinion: "The forum" is a collection of individuals. Not all forum members agree on the same things as other forum members. Some individuals come into the forum and automatically assume the frustrations they experience are "caused by" the software (and therefore they "blame" the software). Some individuals come to the forum with the assumption that they did something "wrong" or lack something from their personal knowledge bases. In diagnosing issues and trying to help others solve problems, it is often best to rule out certain things. Some people who reply are more terse than others. If you were to do a content analysis of replies to requests for help making better use of the software, my guess is that you probably would find diversity in the responses. As for me, I usually start from the assumption that I either don't know enough, I missed something, or I did something wrong. We are all different.
  24. Apologies for suggesting something you already tried. I read your posts from Feb 22 about CAL but didn't realize that was the same thing I was suggesting. Now I know.
