  1. I agree that if you can get the saxist to redo it without the metronome, that would be the way to go. I did see videos showing how one of the Melda Production plug-ins could be used to analyze certain guitar noises (hum, string scrapes, etc.) and sort of remove/minimize them. I have not used that plug-in and I don't know if you could use it to isolate and analyze the metronome clicks and then apply that to remove them from the track/clip. If you absolutely cannot get a retake, an analyze and remove plugin might be worth a try. One time I had a nature recording (birds and things) recorded on a little recorder which produced a little "bzzzt" like every few seconds. I was able to edit those out in a short sample by finding the zero-crossings for the artifacts and removing the artifacts. That kind of repair work is also a last choice option.
  2. This doesn't make sense to me. If you pay 49.99 for the GB and $149 minus 30% in Jam Points (roughly $104), the total paid is roughly $154. Why did you subtract the GB entry fee? Maybe there's a reason, but I don't see it. Are you saying that if you enter the GB and then buy MAX, IK will refund you GB fee? If you are saying that you can purchase MAX to get more SYN2 instruments IF the GB doesn't go all the way, to me that's still addition: the GB fee plus what you pay for MAX.
  3. Holy Crappola!!!! How many different places have discussion threads on Syntronik 2? And maybe someone can give a brief overview of them--kind of like what each is best for. At the moment I'd be interested in a discussion group where participants exchange ideas related to synth engine uses for sound design, real time performance, etc. (including the other current and recent IK Synth Engines--Syntronik, Syntronik 2, ST 3, ST4, and also the IK Sample Editor). (NOTE: Not Twitter and Facebook)
  4. How's the momentum going? On track for 33 for the price of 1 by the end of the GB?
  5. PS: Even though its late in the day, I had not yet rebooted the FW-1884 so Windows 10 would do its Audio Endpoint Builder double check. As a result, Cakewalk did not see my ASIO Driver / audio lines, but ASAPI (Shared Mode) had them all! After power cycling the FW-1884, rebooting Cakewalk. and then switching from ASAPI to ASIO, Cakewalk running with the FW-1884 sees my plug-ins!!! (Including 26 new ones I must have forgotten I added.)
  6. Re: The FW-1884: While it cannot be ruled out as an issue on the OPs PC (regardless of whether or not any such issue might impact VST3s not working), I just want to add a few things as long as @John Vere raised it as a possible issue. On my system (recognizing all systems are different) sometimes Windows doesn't see the driver (v1.80) at the start of the day until I reboot the FW-1884. I suspect a few things things but on my system: the only problem I have seen if I need to reboot is that the ASIO lines are not seen by Windows (and therefore software that replies on some of Windows' Sound Services). on my system, non-ASIO audio modes work until such time that I reboot the FW-1884 and Windows sees the ASIO lines. VST3s work as they should--even if I have not rebooted the FW-1884 to make sure Windows sees the ASIO driver properly. Let me be clear, blaming the FW-1884 for the OPs problem is premature. It might be problematic, but it is not necessarily problematic as concerns Cakewalk, VSTs, etc. On my legacy 2011 era system Cakewalk works quite well. And while I could push the PC beyond what its resources can handle, the PC, running Cakewalk with the FW-1884 can handle tens of hundreds of plug-ins -- probably not all at the same time, though.
  7. Interesting. I never listened to the presets, though I got it as part of TS2 MAX. In ST4 it looks like I am seeing 100 presets which use sounds from Obie One and C30P samples.
  8. Since the vst3s are in the OP's Plug-in Browser, doesn't that mean they were scanned? Related Question: does the Plug-in Browser show plug-ins that were not scanned? Or are you suggesting that if the default scan paths are not in the list, other plug-ins that have been scanned might show up in the Browser but might not work?
  9. That SYN2 FAQ page seems longer than when I last looked at it. Might be a good idea to check it every so often. Thanks for posting the link, @telecode 101.
  10. Yeah. That's why I like to rename stuff so I know what's what so it makes sense to me: HP (front) --> FW-1884 (7/8) (High Definition Audio Device) HP (front) tells me the audio is coming from my HP's front jack that runs into lines 7 and 8 on the FW-1884 but which Windows would just call "High Definition Audio Device" if I didn't personalize it. I really like need and depend on friendly names!!
  11. I am looking at the settings on my PC now. I usually rename my devices at the Win 10 level. Not sure if I use Device Manager to access the Properties page for that. I'll have to track it down. I have my one of the two audio output jacks on the front of my PC renamed HP (front) --> FW-1884 (7/8) (High Definition Audio Device . . . .). I am looking at a Windows Sound Settings page that looks different than yours. Mine says "Choose your output device" and has an arrow in the box that allows me to choose. It doesn't say "Select a device you want to enable or disable." JMO: Windows doesn't make finding the right page easy. That's part of why I rename the devices at the Windows. I also change icons if possible. For example, if I have a PCI Card and I am using that, I use a PCI Card icon instead of the default. I will have to retrace my setup steps. PS: I am assuming you have something plugged into the headphones jack. I just pulled mine plug, Cakewalk detected the change (because Windows and/or the MoBo "Chip" said it was no longer connected), and Cakewalk asked me if I want to change my setup. This might take a while, so if something I say in the meantime solves it, please let me know! Double check: You are using WASAPI Shared, right? NEW: When I went into Device Manager after unplugging the headphone plug, I see that the MoBo/Chip/Windows system now lists the device as hidden. Not sure you know how to navigate there. On my system (might be different on yours): Device Manager > Audio inputs and outputs (expanded) shows what Windows sees and reports as my audio I/Os. Device Manager Menu Bar > View > Show hidden devices Since it is unplugged, "HP (front) --> FW-1884 (7/8) (High Definition Audio Device)" is greyed out. When I plug it back in, it takes about 10-15 seconds but: the MoBo/Chip/Codec detects the change, communicates somehow with Windows 10, Device Manager does an automatic refresh, and the "HP (front) . . . " device is no longer greyed out. [I assume that when I reboot Cakewalk it will be there] - sec Rebooted Cakewalk (I had closed it before.) Cakewalk detected the change and asked me about accepting the change. I think I said "OK." "HP (front) --> FW-1884 (7/8) (High Definition Audio Device)" is now in Cakewalk!!! Hope this helps. If so, I will revisit the above to prune it down by getting rid commentary on the process and just leaving the important steps.
  12. Now that there is agreement, can this thread be closed before the hostilities escalate?
  13. JMO: If you are serious about wanting help solving what might be a user error problem, you really should stop starting multiple threads on the same exact issue and do some of what others have been suggesting.
  14. Thanks for checking and for reporting your results! I found one CS Synth where two of the three presets had 6 buttons. I had a different CS Instrument that crashed/shut down ST4 when loading the preset. It had 6 buttons once I rebooted ST4! Random, based on the preset, or QA issue, installation issue? All bets are off! ? Yes, I saw there was no way presently to access the wave sets from the ST4 UI, but I had fun with some of the layer controls that are available--esp. pitch/fine tuning as a preset thickening agent!!! I am now no longer inclined to think the 6 buttons is a glitch of some sort. Again, thanks for the feedback.
  15. I'm still on the fence, but I might hold out for Syntronik 2.5 (or 3.0) and 6 Osc layers (or maybe ST 4.5 / ST5.0)! ? Although until the newer versions or updated bundles come along, SYN2GB would provide me with more long-term gratification than the same amount of money spent on groceries. ? Adding Wave Set layers to the new instrument presets for my 22 Syntronik synths has been personally rewarding. SYN2GB is sooooooooooo tempting! BTW, can someone with any of the 11 new instruments who has ST4 do me a favor and let me know (a) how many oscillator layers the presets have, (b) how many are selectable, and (c) which instruments (if any) allow access to more than 2? With the limited presets in CS, I see 6 osc layers with some of the new synths, but only the first 2 are selectable. If a number of the 11 new instruments access 6 osc layers of Wave Sets, I will be a participant in the SYN2GB after I go through my account and pay my monthly bills.
  16. From what I read in the SYN2GB terms, there are some logistical differences if you later want to transfer them. From what I read in "the fine print," with the GB you cannot transfer the freebies and the one you purchase has to remain in your account otherwise the freebies evaporate. As I understand it, if you purchase a software product such as Syntronik 2 MAX, after the requisite holding time, you can buy a transfer credit and transfer the MAX version as a complete product. NOTE: I am not an expert in this subject; just reporting what I read. I will defer to someone if they understand the rules more thoroughly.
  17. Alternative Guess: Syntronik 2 uses a different graphics system (methods, libraries, etc.) than Syntronik 1. I'd suggest a friendly wager, but we might never find out the cause. ? I know, if you're right (and someone admits it!!!!), I'll make a Syntronik 2 Patch named after you and PM it to you. ?
  18. I have had this on all my KV331 synths since I got them. Max MIDI inputs = PC Keyboard + 16. Typically my main usb keyboard is higher than number 16 and therefore is not visible to the synths. But I have a work around in two parts. Part 1: One of my devices is an iConnectMIDI4+ which has its own set of 16 MIDI device ports. It has an on/off button on the front. So if I have it switched off, KV331 synths see my main usb keyboard and I can select it via KV331's Edit > I/O setup menu system. Part 2: Once set up, I leave the configuration alone! This includes software updates!! KV331 asks if I want to reset my config file, I say, "No." I am pretty sure I reported this when I first got KV331 synths, but after getting and trying the standard advice (uninstall/reinstall, etc.), I decided it my workaround met my needs. Obviously, this solution might not meet the needs of other users. (But maybe you have a similar workaround.) @Bulent Biyikoglu Hi. As long as I typed this issue up, I thought I'd add your name in case you get a notification. The workaround I described meets my needs, but if the midi device limit can be fixed, others might benefit. Thanks.
  19. Based on my experience we can still edit "Generation 1" presets (those from Syntronik and Syntronik Deluxe) using the virtual hardware style panel. To get there in Syntronik 2, I usually click the Effects button twice. I can also get there by clicking the Player button twice. Clicking the Edit button tells me, "YOU CAN'T GET THERE FROM HERE!!!" (Not those exact words.) But after that happened a few times, I got over it. ? From everything I have seen, we can edit new presets recently created for the old synths (e.g., the 17 instruments in Syntronik and the 17+5 instruments in Syntronik Deluxe [SYN]) with the new Edit Panel. Based on Syntronik 2 Full, I counted Generation 2 presets [SYN2] as follows. If these don't jive with what others have found, please let me know and I will remove/update the tables. G2 = Syntronik 2 presets listed under "Generation." WS = Wave Sets listed in the new Edit Panel Wave Set Browser. NOTE: There are several different categories of Wave Sets: Single Oscillator, Multi Oscillator, Octaves, Sync, PWM, Full Patch. Don't ask me about these. I spent so much time counting and re-counting the number of presets and wave sets and playing with layering the four Osc layers, I didn't explore the different types of wave sets, yet. Section 5.2.5 of the Syntronik 2 Manual says: Personally (based on my interests), I'm spending more time playing with the G2 / SYN2 presets in the new Edit Panel than the older presets.
  20. HUH? I read the whole thread just to get to your new post. It seems that the problem was solved when users changed UWP to MME. With my older gear, UWP causes issues, so I also use MME like others mentioned above. You seem to be calling Cakewalk idiots. I thought it was a Windows issue. ("Windows 10 introduced the Universal Windows Platform (UWP), which provides a common app platform on every device that runs Windows.") So what is "It" that you will be deleting? Windows 10? PS: Good luck pasting your hair back in. ?
  21. Maybe he liked what you did and appreciated your creativity with those musical elements that sound somewhat similar. If it were me, I'd let sleeping dogs sleep and choose to believe he liked it. Thanks for the update.
  22. Are you going to tell us what the data is?
  23. I can relate. The continued massive slide in the value of my retirement funds on Friday says to me, "WAIT!" Of course, other current events tell me, "Go for it as if there won't be a tomorrow." No, but I have noticed over the past few months that some of the files that are supposed to be zip files are dmg files and vice versa.
  24. Honorable mention (from a FZ song): "She's just like a Penguin in *****. BOING!!  (Oh yeah, oh yeah, Awwwwhhh.)" (association with some songs posted a few minutes ago). EDIT: It looks like one of the words in the title might be offensive. Listener discretion is advised!
