  1. If you haven't gotten it yet, there's still time to get and try the free CS version before the SYN2GB is over. For the most part it only has less than a handful of presets per instrument, but it would give you some hands-on experience with the new Syntronik 2 Edit Panel, the 4-layer architecture, etc. It has somewhere around 100 SYN2 presets. Personally, I don't think the presets in the CS version showcase the new instruments as well as others they could have chosen. The Jordan Rudess videos give a better idea, but even then, they are not intended to showcase the full diversity of the presets. PS: At one point I did an installation of CS in a separate folder: SYN2_CS on an SSD Drive. I just checked: Its 3.26 GB. I mention this in case you try it and want to set it up in a separate folder for easy deletion if you decide its not for tou.
  2. Just did a basic test and this worked. Track 1: Created a bass line (1 measure + 4 measures looped). Track 2: Played successive test fillers over measures 2 -> 5. No splits in the take lanes for basic tasks. Thanks.
  3. Did you add the 1 for the first on purchased? Nope; 32 promos not there yet for me either. 1 purchased + 10 promos downloaded + 21 available. Where's Deloitte, Haskins, and Sells, or whatever they are now called? Looked it up: "Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu" . In any case, congratulations to all the winners!!!
  4. In my experience, yes, MODO DRUM 1.5 SE picks up the MODO DRUM 1 kits. What we don't know (so far as I can tell) is if MODO DRUM 1.5 Full has something (such as a feature, etc.) that the combination of MODO DRUM 1 + MODO DRUM 1.5 SE doesn't have. From what I have seen, it is not safe to assume that just because we have all of the kits there aren't other differences.
  5. Thanks. This is only my 2nd GB ever, so I didn't realize remember I couldn't double up on ones I already had. The two shades of grey (chosen and not yet chosen) look 99% the same to me, but the 1% lighter ones cannot be selected. (Can't call them greyed out!!) Your rationale for not letting them sit and rot in cyberspace makes sense.
  6. So, let me ask for some thoughts on this, I have Syntronik 2 Full as part of a TS Bundle and I picked up the 11 new SYN2 Packs with the GB. Is there any reason for me to use the additional promotions--other than for the potential to try to sell the TS Bundle? If so, are there reasons to get duplicates (from the GB) for the 22 Classic Packs v. duplicates of the 11 new ones?
  7. Interesting. I never tried having CbB try to convert different types of files at the same time. Thanks for the tip--just in case I am tempted to do that for real. I tried as a test, and the presence of an mp4 file caused CbB to have an immediate shut-down type crash. Nice to know that even at my age I still have room to lean new things! (Thanks for that, too!)
  8. I deleted a question ("By any chance are you trying to import a compressed file?") after I tried Menu > File > Import with the zip file I was using as a test because CbB didn't even see it. I just tried the drag and drop method with an mp3 file in a zip file and all I get in the circle with the line through it. I am interested to know what method the OP used to get that message. I did get a file not supported message when I tried to import a file that was 0 bytes long. Maybe there's a size limit?
  9. I just did a quick test by dragging some mp4 and ogg files into Cakewalk. It worked. I dragged the files from a file window (I use "Everything") onto an audio track. I also tried the Menu Bar > File > Import > Audio method. That worked, too. Its hard to tell what you might be doing wrong because you haven't stated the steps you took. http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Recording.32.html Have you looked at the format of the files under the file's Properties > Details? Maybe that info might be helpful to diagnose the problem you are having.

    New release

Since the current release caused problems for you, have you tried rolling it back to the previous release since that seemed to work for you?
  11. Looking forward to trying the Comp/Take Lanes repair. I stopped using Comp Mode to try out ideas and preserve them in lanes because the splits were trouble some.
  12. I just did a couple of quick tests of the MODO BASS 2 CS VST3 plug-in within CbB (an 8 bar pattern and a 4 bar pattern). Both recorded and played back OK.
  13. Another issue (in addition to a tendency to focus on negativity), is that earlier posts get "lost." I suspect my post from 4 hours ago (citing the same portion of the MB2 Manual) got "lost" because JT Music's reply (which I responded to in such a way to try to avoid seeing another round of JT v. Peter "Are We Gonna Go There Again?") was replied to by Peter and then JT again and then . . . . This feature seems to make having to scroll past the new locked basses worth the extra effort, but the CS version might not have this feature. (I couldn't get it to work.) I'd be interested in knowing if anyone can add user bass MIDI files. When Peter chose to escalate the confrontation beyond what JT Music had started, despite my polite comment asking them not to engage (maybe I was too polite?), part of my frustration with the drama these two were creating stemmed from the distraction it took from legitimate questions, including mine. JT Music was the only one who replied, although it was not helpful in addressing my specific question and in the "volley" I was hoping wouldn't happen, the question got lost. With the LOL dollar sign face I was trying to deescalate my own frustration at the distraction as if to say the good-cop-bad-cop thing was an attempt at humor. DAMMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think both of these guys work for the same team and are doing a good-cop-bad-cop kind of thing using a tag team promotional/marketing strategy. Why else would they repeatedly engage in this behavior? ? For what its worth, I have given up trying to get User Patterns to show up in MODO BASS CS on my own. UPDATE: Despite prior experiences, I asked Support. While IK's rules preclude sharing what they say, if I find out how it can be done, I will share my own process if successful. If it can't be done, maybe there will be something on IK's website or in a FAQ or something saying the feature has been incapacitated in CS and I can post a link to that.
  14. Thanks for sharing this additional information. I would still be interested to know if the ability to use user patterns (as described in the MODO BASS Manual) has been incapacitated in MODO BASS 2. Not expecting you to know, @cclarry, but maybe another MODO BASS CS user knows if it can be done, and if so how to do it.
  15. I have often wondered if Peter is at the mercy of what people tell him and is being unintentionally misled. In fact, I seem to remember expressing sympathy for his possibly being caught in the middle (between what he was told by co-workers and what users here experience). My point here (which you did not address) is that Peter did not have to get into another volley as he claimed. He chose to escalate the "debate." I regret that you have brought up "subscribing to a conspiracy." I do not subscribe to conspiracy theories. I was making a point which I thought was quite unique. I don't know that anyone else has ever made that connection. If there others, I have no knowledge of them. ? So, the point was Peter chose to exploit the "debate" and then he chose to defend that choice. Again, I disagree: He did not have to choose to do that. But, to give him the benefit of the doubt, I tried to think of a scenario where he had to escalate the issue as he has done before. And the only way that I can think of that he had to reply is that he had no choice in the matter. And the reason I could think of that he didn't have a choice was that it was mandatory as part of his job description. And the best reason for that is that is that by engaging in the debate, it helps sales. After all, each time he does, he gets to promote the advantages of IK's products. I am sure you are aware (1) that I appreciate Peter's efforts on behalf of consumers (because I am pretty sure you have read posts where I said as much), and (2) that I appreciate many of the fine qualities of IK products (again because I am pretty sure you have read my posts to that effect). As for the Coffee House > Deals forum not being a support forum, I could be wrong, but I do not feel that people asking about installation issues (among other topics related to an announced product) and other people trying to help out is such a terrible crime that it needs to be called out and banned. Peter chose to tell users an issue was fixed when it wasn't. The fallback is always to contact IK support. But in my experience, IK support is not the best place to try to address issues with their products. I could be wrong, but I see a useful role in the forum is the sharing of issues related to products. So when he says that an issue was fixed months ago, when in fact the issue still exists, potential consumers (as well as purchasers) should know that the problem was not fixed.
  16. I disagree. Unless you are admitting that I am right about the good-cop-bad-cop marketing strategy being intentional and your job duties mandate that you engage in this confrontive promotional campaign for the sake of sales. Let me ask: Why did you tell us that the issue with some of the SYN2 instruments not being installed properly was fixed when it was first reported? You said that in January (IIRC) and repeated that here a few weeks ago when it was clear to multiple users here that it was not fixed. Not only that, but users here tracked down the source of the issue while you were maintaining it had been fixed when first reported. Clearly support knew about the issue, let it remain, and you told us it had been fixed. You chose not to reply to the specific evidence users here presented. You also chose to reply once again to JT Music. I am calling them as I see them. You intentionally violated a polite request. You did not have to escalate the Peter v. JT Music debate. Very regrettably I have to conclude that the dictum "When it comes to publicity, there is no such thing as bad news" has been extended to "Good-cop-bad-cop style marketing is good for sales." That's the way I see it based on this repeated behavior.
  17. Apologies to Larry and other participants. I really tried to forestall a repeat another volley of the crap-throwing show .
  18. DAMMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think both of these guys work for the same team and are doing a good-cop-bad-cop kind of thing using a tag team promotional/marketing strategy. Why else would they repeatedly engage in this behavior? ?
  19. Help me understand, because it is too confusing for my old man brain. If I have MODO DRUM 1.0 [with the 1.5 software update], and I get MODO DRUM 1.5 SE for the Memorial Day Sale Price (approx. $40 minus $12 in Jam Points = $28), what more would I get (drum kits, features, etc.) with the $80 version of MODO DRUM 1.5?
  20. After finding I cannot add user patterns, I am leaning towards this ^^^ conclusion. However, now that this is on the table, I am hoping others will chime in to discuss the presence or absence of specific features. (Let me be direct: I will be horrified if my question and comments inspired another volley of "Are we on this again?") Peace!
  21. Since I have MODO BASS 1, I looked at the comparison table and didn't see any benefit to installing MODO BASS 2 CS. Is there any benefit, other than the option to buy ala carte basses? Update: Found it. MODO BASS 2 CS has features listed that MODO BASS 1 doesn't: Reduced number of patterns. No fretless capability. Might be worth installing if it adds the ability to record, save, and load user bass patterns. This feature seems to make having to scroll past the new locked basses worth the extra effort, but the CS version might not have this feature. (I couldn't get it to work.) I'd be interested in knowing if anyone can add user bass MIDI files.
  22. Sorry to hear the unfortunate news. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
  23. I would wait (1) to see if it will make it and (2) to see if there might be another extension.
