  1. I never use partition anymore. I only did this fall to prep for a new HDD. That way I could check how it worked to move Toontrack/Native Instruments samples to a new drive before having the drive and setting it up. Windows also has this thing where you can merge drives together to one unit. Can be handy when you need just to expand for more samples. Also, I would say. Newer toss away old SSDs. They can be handy for Page File and so on. They are not mechanical and can be put away on the back on the computer if you have no more space for drives. 30GB SSD for a sample pack is great for speed.
  2. Just want to ad that I have gotten the Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i RGB PLATINUM and I have clocked the CPU to 5 GHz without any problem.
  3. Answer from NI Hi, the Windows 10 Updates KB4487017 and KB4487044 from February 12th, 2019 block certain NI hardware devices from being recognized. Please see the following Knowledge Base article: My KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series Keyboard Is Not Recognized after Updating Windows 10 Best, Michi
  4. I have done rollback of this update 2 times now, and with one of this updates, the NI software cant find the keyboard, just the MIDI parts. I also told NI just now…
  5. I had to roll back today. Seems to work again now. What happened is that after a Window Update, no app could see the Keyboard for more than a MIDI keyboard. But a quick rollback with the System Restore tool fixed it. Trying to reinstall today to see if that was the case and not that I installed a new cooler and something there wrecked NI KK hardware control.
  6. My pleasure! Try reinstall. Might be something wrong in some samples.
  7. Works fine here. I use the Komplete Kontrol VSTi that runs Kontakt. Just a tip! The Symphony Series tend to put the Dynamic wheel to bottum if you do not program in some CC/movement. I always start wiht puting in a Dyn W recording in in front of my recording som that it is at least have sound when playback.
  8. This is not at critic or anything. Just wonder why you go for a Intel m.2 and not Samsung. I use Samsung myself, but I am not a fan of it. Just use it. Don’t hate it either. Just wonder. And I know your CPU will be real cool. I am saving the envy till you actually get it…
  9. I use my old SSD as a Page File Drive.
  10. I watch OC3D and Tiny Tom. Here he shows some grafts about MSI Z390 MEG ACE. Seems MSI is good on the new CPUs from Intel. These are not tests abut latency, but I guess the timing of games will be sort of coloring latency. It is how fast the card are handling work. Would be great to see latency in the tests tho. Do anyone tests that? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxBMpK7-Tyc
  11. I love watching documentary’s like this. Its like new Insight. In the 80’s I’ve heard that the drums on “this” album was not played by the drummer and so on, but newer knew it did go that deep.
  12. Yeah. But I wasn't that lucky in the silicone lottery. I could buy a new one and maybe get what you say. But really, it is a lottery, and i don't have that money. By the way, the Corsair cooler isn’t that more expensive than an ordinary cooler. But the main reason for me to use AIO watercooler is that it takes more time for the heat to build up. The one I have now, does not have a good enough pump. So, I hope the Corsair will be better that way. Fan speed is one thing, but if the water does not circulate fast enough it doesn’t matter if the fans run at 2000 rpm. And PC building is a hobby of mine. So, I care a little how it looks inside the case too. Big block right in that hides everything is not an option. Not that I look for the RGB tho. I will put the light on white. Esthetics is also up there. Tho my PCs is on tight budget in that regard.
  13. I am serially thinking of installing Linux Qubes OS on my Acer Switch 2. It is a 2 in one thing. I tried installing latest Ubuntu but it failed. was something at the end that made the installation hang. So instead of trying to figure out what went wrong, I will go all way out and force a Linux Qubes OS on this little machine. Do anyone of you have any Insight and or experience of installing Linux on a machine that is hard wired to not do so? Here is link to the homepakge of the distro: https://www.qubes-os.org/
  14. I don’t think the first use for two way communication will be used by synths, but I think it will be MIDI keyboards with screens like the Native Instruments I have and others, with non-analog drawers (motorized or not) and to show what the synth on the other end is doing. And in the same line controllers. Now you have a standard everyone “must” fallow…
  15. I am overclocking now tho. My Intel Core i7 8700K is clocked to 4,3 GHz (3,7 GHz).It is stable up to 4,9 on my cooler, but the cooler sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I have the cheapest of the Coolermaster. The Master Liquid Lite 240: http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-liquid-cooler/masterliquid-lite-240/ Waiting to get a Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i RGB PLATINUM 240mm Liquid CPU Cooler the 20th this month. http://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Liquid-Cooling/Dual-Radiator-Liquid-Coolers/Hydro-Series™-RGB-Platinum/p/CW-9060039-WW It said this is a real improvement on cooling, at least by corsair, since it is not a stock Asetek AIO but a more in-house design and made by CoolIT. And i dont have any space for a 280. Could put in a 360 but then i had to use a dremmel du demove the CD/DVD drive holder.
  16. I'm an Asus guy. Had a Gigabyte MB way back. I think that brand does not say that much anymore. Everyone fallows the standards pretty well. I know Gigabyte had problems overclocking theirs x99 line way back. So, I picked up Asus because of that. I didn’t overclock tho.
  17. My friend said, "it will be a waste buying rock on CD because you will only benefit with classic music". We were born in 74 and it was 81-82 so we were not that old, but ohh so funny.
  18. In the 80s we had the "B" sides tracks. I often liked those as much as the hit songs. I find it hard to just listen to one song when listening to enjoy. It must be an album. But one album that is really too long is Dream Theaters "The Astonishing". It might also be that I am not smart enough to comprehend the greatness. Tho... But for the analog LP, I am glad I can listen to album from a CD or HDD. It is cool with analog, but I remember the noise to well. One other thing is that I don’t want to buy HD tracks anymore. I don’t see the need. I would more buy the stem files for mixing, but just a few sells that. Here is our Rob S recording on wax cylinder. Its cool, but for me, Its just that. LP and all that is just cool but not what I want to use for consuming music.
  19. Lol. Yeah. Well the other songs are missing Michael Jackson saying "No thats not what I've been saying about that. That's not what I'd said. Thats ignorance". Just saying.
