  1. Agreed. This forum is "categorically" bland. I'm really not a negative person or whiner but the old forum with all it's quirk was my favorite place to browse - I knew where to look for what. I like the new home but it is becoming my least favorite place to browse. Reminds me of a Steven Wright quote: "I went to a general store but they wouldn't let me buy anything specific."
  2. Thanks Chuck just making sure in case I needed to do some archiving.
  3. Will we still be able access our bookmarked threads after Jan 16?
  4. I like 8DIO stuff and might have jumped on this but I bought the Orange Tree Samples Mandolin in the last group buy. Watching the video (which I would suggest), the workflow is different but nothing stands out to me. The price is good so if you need a Mandolin it may be just what the Dr. ordered.
  5. Back on topic? I use my DAW to store all the plugins I got on sale but rarely use!

    Ina GRM FREEBIES

    Very interesting videos!
  7. Yep, I purchased Dec of '17. According to that page, "It comes with one year of free upgrades and e-mail support." Perhaps they're just on a post-annual update system FYI, the "new" maintenance release 1.9.8 is for MACOS. AFAIK, 1.9.5 Core Engine is still the most recent for PC. Still a nice piano - was using it just this weekend.

    A new beginning

    What's the deal?! 😀
  9. I know we are creatures of habit and many long-time users were comfortable (even tho it was a love/hate relationship) with the layout of the former forum - myself included just from years of use. However, I like clarity and efficiency (though they have trimmed the fat).... This is a "Cakewalk Products" section so maybe they could add the missing "Studio" section with: Hardware, Software, Computers & Techniques - for me, these (+Deals) made up the bulk of my CW browsing. 🙂
  10. Seems to be unchanged. You and Garrigus have long been Cake supporters and invaluable info disseminators. e.g. you could have just presented the idea to CbB for profit but no, you graciously just do it and lay it at their doorstep. I would only think it would generate even more enthusiasm for this new era. Thanks Craig & Scott for all you do!
  11. I think it is redundant at best and confusing at least as the majority of "general" discussions begin with a question and most "questions" result in a discussion. Clearly not so clear.
  12. Hmm, thought I'd check as well. I sometimes have to reset from Magix Low Latency ASIO back to my MOTU Pro Audio ASIO driver. However, deleting these from the AUD.INI did nothing. While the MOTU selections in Preferences/Devices remains the MOTU driver, the Magix driver still shows and persists in Preferences/Sync and Caching/ even when I change it to the MOTU.
