  1. I use Melodyne timing adjustment to do this.
  2. I participated in that thread I think. My emails to Melodyne produced zilch - their position is that it must be a problem in Cakewalk. It's certainly a pain; I keep meaning to un-install and re-install the old version.
  3. Sounds like the designers have focussed on the interesting, sexy bits, i.e. the sounds and UI cosmetics, and badly neglected fundamentals like usability. I'm hanging fire on this upgrade for now.
  4. I'm still seeing no ads here. I'm using a laptop and desktop with both Firefox and MSEdge. Odd.
  5. A load of old PC bollocks. Everywhere I look now for news all I see is wimmin moaning, well, the liberal elite variety who have nothing better to do. Give it a rest ladies... 🀐
  6. Thanks for the heads up. 😊
  7. I might have bought a couple of new drumkits but they're not in the sale. Hrmph. πŸ˜’
  8. And could you let us know if you find a lot of new stuff please? I'm hesitant about buying as I don't know if I'd get a lot more usable sounds than what I already have in ST3.
  9. I just clicked to check for an update. It ran, then told me a can't register a further computer?!?!? I don't want to register another computer. I never got that before. Not really an update then, so I just exited. 🀬
  10. Thanks. I can't see any links yet to the change log.
  11. Thanks, I hadn't realised that. Looks like 4k is the way to go.
  12. There is NEVER, repeat NEVER a free lunch. The global players cited either make advertising revenues or saleable data collections or both. In the run up to doing that they may well peddle something that appears 'free' but that strategy is related to 'land grab', plain old monopoly building, in order to do the above later on. Companies make acquisitions to either (1) speed up the above process and/or (2) take out potential competitors. I always assumed BandLab acquired CW for the aforementioned synergistic reason(s), e.g. to improve and enlarge the BandLab music sharing service which will eventually carry side bar adverts. It's not my place to question the validity or otherwise of that. I'm not criticising our capitalist system, just sayin' how it tends to operate in real life, that's all. Good luck to Meng and his crew and many thanks for the vibrant return of CW. Caveat: I do think the mega-corporations need reigning in. They've taken the piss in the last few years in the full knowledge that governments are slow to act when they see dangers that need legislating against. And like monopolies of old their rampant greed quite literally knows no limits. They hold themselves out as cool hip Leftie dudes just trying to make the world a better place. (That's probably true of most of the naive starry-eyed drones who beaver away in the trendily-furnished bowels of these outfits.) That may have been the naive original aim but it long ago went by the wayside. They now use that pose as a disguise for their true characters and in that respect they are no different from the rapacious mine and mill owners of the Victorian age, despite the bean bag bollocks. I'm glad this week our government in the UK has read the riot act to the social media giants about their carrying posts inciting self harm and suicide in young people.
  13. Thanks scook. No, there no attachments. Thanks for the link, I've sent a support request via that.
  14. I found another page inviting emails for support but that says:- We're sorry to learn we were unable to answer your question. Our support team is here to help! Please send us an email if there is something we can assist you with further. Under Construction We're sorry, this part of our website is currently undergoing maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try back again later. Come on guys, support now nil? What happened?
  15. How do I communicate with Support when my email is bounced as 'spam' ??? "Message not delivered There was a problem delivering your message to support@cakewalk.com. See the technical details below. LEARN MORE The response was: Your email to group support@cakewalk.com was rejected due to spam classification. The owner of the group can choose to enable message moderation instead of bouncing these emails. More information can be found here: https://support.google.com/a/answer/168383."
  16. Hi Grem Many thanks. Yes, restart fixes it. I had it again this morning. It must be a bug of some kind. I can't see how and why it happens though. 😑
  17. If I click and move the Now time in Track view and then press 'D' to open the Piano Roll View the Now time there is different from the Track view. I'm sure this wasn't like this before. Have I accidentally altered an option or something? πŸ˜•
  18. My monitor is 27" and I want to go up to a larger one. I've Googled, but there seem so many with different models and technical attributes I don't fathom. I don't want a curved screen, but what about resolution? What other things should I avoid/looking for? All advice very welcome!
  19. The choice of how Melodyne interprets the data, percussive, melodic, etc. You can choose a default (that should get saved) so that you don't have to select a type every time you load a clip to work on.
  20. I just received an email announcing the changes: "Improvements in the current Version 4.2.1 Melodyne 4.2.1 brings the following improvements and numerous minor optimizations all of which make your use of Melodyne more enjoyable, reliable and swift. New functions and improvements Faster loading with ARA: In DAWs with ARA support, extensive projects now load considerably faster. Bug fixes Fixed: During ARA operation with Mixcraft and Cakewalk, blob monitoring and scrubbing were no longer available in Melodyne if you started playback in the DAW. Fixed: With Melodyne in Player Mode (i.e. without activating the program on the computer being used), the ARA plug-in sometimes crashed when you switched from Track Edit Mode to Clip Edit Mode. Fixed: If the detection was aborted after a transfer with the Melodyne plug-in and you subsequently tried to move audio material whilst holding down the ALT key, a crash was sometimes the result. Fixed: If an audio file was selected in the track pane of the stand-alone implementation of Melodyne studio, adjusting the fine tuning in the inspector sometimes led to a crash."
  21. They haven't fixed the issue introduced in the last update whereby the default algorithm isn't remembered. It's frustrating as they list Cakewalk as a supported DAW. 😑 Behaviour is ok in Studio One 4 but there's still an issue when I use it in Cakewalk. I emailed Ulf at Melodyne querying whether this issue is going to be addressed, but sadly he replied: "So far we cannot reproduce this issue. We need to be able to do this first before we can know if the issue is with us or Cakewalk." However, in October he told me: "Alright. We’re on it. But it may take a while." Can Noel perhaps chime in here and shed some light on this issue? It is an elusive glitch: I get it every single time, but I understand some CW users here don't experience it at all? πŸ€”
