What I'm not hearing much about is how mixes are turning out it. Sure, I can get my cans to sound great using it but how will a mix translate? I'm waiting for the 3rd pack coming next week that has the car & other environments to try a serious mix. In the meantime I'm testing & tweaking. The trial period lasts about a month, I should know by then if I'll purchase.

You can demo it, it's in Aquarius. I'm checking it out now.. I'm getting some great results too but not near the fence yet!

I tried the Guru plugin for a few hours with my spot checking phones, dialed them in & it sounded pretty good. Better than SonarWorks which is the only other software I have as I don't really don't care to mix on cans. This isn't 'select a preset & you're transported into a million dollar studio' type software, you need to spend time with it & set it up..I am curious about the environments they have planned to release, cars, different speakers etc..hopefully some will be included in the demos.. The trial period should roughly a month so so I plan on casually using it from time to time.. I still find mixing on my mono cube more gratifying!

The headphone profiles will be but not the added studios, rooms or environments. Keep in mind early bird pricing with Acustica equates to a working beta release. They might change that policy down the road, add & include certain ones for free.. Personal discount codes should work on these packs too.

Well you never know with Acustica.. I find it too convoluted for my uses. I only like using cans for spot checking, hate them for mixing or tracking guitars. You can make your cans sound good using the guru plugin but I want them flat.. I will say they sound better than SonarWorks which have that pre-ringing / phasey sound.. I'll keep the demo installed until it runs out & after they release the 3rd pack that has other listening environments; cars, speakers, etc... *also Tuesday they're releasing VolumeB ( extra$)

He's been adding different features since it's release. I mainly use it on tracks or my 2 bus either to check a plugin or chain's pre/post diff or to gain stage. Once set I usually remove them altogether. For typical reference A/B I prefer & use PA's Metric AB.
