  1. I'm going to build as new computer as well, and thinking of about the same lineup as you, but maybe with 64GB memory if afforded. Now I'm still on a i7-2600 with 16GB and EWHO Platinum is often slow and almost of of memory if I use all the mic positions.
  2. This is fantastic Daryl. Perfection from arrangement to mix. 10+/10 and the only tiny thing I can find to remark on is the upbeat of the last tambourine hit. But you probably wanted it that way... 🙄 And I love those guitar fills by James!
  3. Liked the instrumentation, good mix of sounds. Nice groovy 7/8-feel, sometimes 7/8 gets stumbly without flow but not here. I would love to hear a flute solo in this one. Good work!
  4. Groovy! Really skilled work putting it all together like this. Loved the jazzy arrangement. The bass sound sounded a bit wierd (unclear), did you octave it down or used synth sound there as well?

Thanks Kenny. Wait until it goes on sale, I have the feeling that happen pretty often.

At least the development of the piece was lead by the synth sounds. Glad you liked it. Good luck with your chromaphoning!

Thanks! It's a distorted synth sound on top of a bass sound, so it sounds like the bass is distorting. The third time it is layered with a percussive sound, and then I think it sounds more like a timpani. The world of layering is endless.

Thanks a lot Daryl! But I guess you wanted more distortion on the lower end, right? Yes you do! Maybe some of the more expensive synths like Omnisphere is all you need (I don't have it), but Chromaphone is fast, easy to tweak, niched so when you need a plucky sound, you don't have to search through 3000 sounds to find one close to what you want.

Thanks Tom, glad you enjoyed it. I love 7/8 since Genesis days, or at least since I started listening to them a decade later. Don't use it too often, though. Maybe 7/8 will be the new 4/4?

Thanks! Ok, laptop... I have a base line there I assure you... 😛

Thanks for listening, John. Lounge Lizard is nice too, I agree. Strum is hard to get a realistic sound I think, but I haven't tried it so much.
  12. Very slick! A mix of Steely Dan and Yellowjackets. Best of two worlds! Do you write in this style nowadays or was it a "phase"?
  13. This is so great sounding, nice blend of instruments and fantastic guitar sound and performance. Maybe someone earlier had made a comment about the harsh piano? Well, I blame Elton John of why they exist at all...
  14. The subject is very close to me, too. I found the song comforting, strangely enough. You are a master at lyrics! Other than that - just another great song, I guess.

This short track is made purely with one of my go-to soft synths, AAS Chromaphone 2. I like it for the analog feel and it got a lot of nice, plucky sounds. I guess many of you have some of the AAS synths, which is your favorite? Additional FX used, mostly Soundtoys stuff.
  16. I'm really sorry to hear that, Ken! Styrkekramar till dig och din familj.

    I'm back!

And big thanks for that! I haven't bought any plugins for about 3 days now...
  18. Lol you did great on your own. Maybe a collab later on. "Nordic fury" suitable name? 🤣 I have my "studio" in the livingroom with a second child coming in about two weeks, so not much time for daw-ing now. We have planned the top floor for about 1,5 years and in august it hopefully is ready for moving in. Then I will get an own music room again.
