  1. This is the first time I've heard of Stream Deck - does it work with (i.e. 'control') any software? or is there only a specific set of apps that work with it?
  2. Good point. Even with the download manager, downloading the whole thing is a pain... I kinda wish they had a (pause-able) way to just batch-download all of the sounds in one click.
  3. With TS3 Max, does anyone know if the 'bigger' collections contain the 'smaller' collections - more specifically: Do I need to download/back up Miroslav Philharmonik 2 CE if I download Miroslav Philharmonik 2 Do I need SampleTank 4 and SampleTank 4 SE if I download SampleTank 4 MAX Do I need the various Syntronik modules, e.g. Syntronik Blau, if I download Syntronik Deluxe

    JST 50% off Code

Never bought from JST before so I just went through the checkout process to see what it's like (didn't actually pay). It reminds me of another website that I occasionally 'buy' freebies from. That one has around four steps in the checkout process, three of which are adverts to add discounted products to the cart. Oddly, that one feels less annoying than the JST one; I think it's because with that one, you know exactly how many steps are going to be involved.
  5. And this is why it's so important for plugin developers to sign their binaries. Certificates cost money though, and so for a smaller dev, I can understand why they might not do so. However, there are some larger devs out there that I'm fairly sure could easily afford a certificate, but still won't sign their binaries for some reason.
  6. If Cakewalk still comes with the ProChannel module that's based on Overloud's TapeDesk (can't remember what it's called), you can use that.
  7. Even though I kinda get what it means, I find it mildly ironic that the AI assistants giving you more control is a new feature; all the controls and settings are there (and have always been there) to tweak. Looks like it's exclusive to Music Production Suite Pro and Producers Club subscriptions for now; maybe an update for MPS 5 (just my speculation)?
  8. According to the feature table, the only difference is: Mass-export hundreds of MIDI files to a folder. License to sell exported MIDI files to other people (e.g. in the form of a MIDI construction kit). If you're planning to sell construction kits (instead of just completed musical works, as most product EULAs allow) that were made using this, I think the price difference is reasonable - especially with the 50% discount that's currently going.
  9. You get freebies for full Kontakt; not so much for Player. Also you can make your own instruments if you're that way inclined - that means you can also grab a bunch of loops/one shots from your favourite sample pack and turn them into something 'playable'. (If you do this, make sure you use it for personal use only - you'll probably violate the EULA of your sample pack if you distribute it)
  10. If you mean storage-wise, it'll depend on the version you get; the larger versions will come on a bigger drive.
  11. They should've made the dial go up to 11 😁
  12. Just wanted to point out two things: Unlike some other companies, there is no time limit on when you have to download your software by; you don't have to worry about filling up your drive/s with stuff that you aren't using now, but might want in the future. Even if you don't need the physical drive, you might want to order it anyway. It's a nice USB3 external portable drive that you could reformat and use to back up your other libraries (from vendors with less generous download policies) if you wanted to. Granted, somewhere between 0.25 TB and 1TB of storage (depending on which edition you go for) isn't is the biggest of backup drives, but it's pretty good for the price difference.
  13. I think it came supplied with a standard 'Y' cable, i.e. 1/8" TRS to L/R RCA jacks. It's actually how I have it set up: the TRS in the iLoud; RCA-to-1/4" converters on each RCA jack, which then goes into the outputs on my interface. It might be considered a ghastly setup, but it's good enough for me right now.
  14. It was ages ago since I bought mine, but IIRC the answer is no
  15. Don't know how these compare to 'proper' full size monitors, but I really like them (and I think my mixes don't sound too bad either). They operate as a pair of stereo speakers (one power supply to power the pair), and despite their size, can go really loud with a good (but not hyped) bass response. Bluetooth connectivity too, so they can double as something to (casually) listen to your music on.
  16. This is a music related deals forum, and this post is about a (~66% off) deal on a pair of headphones. There isn't a minimum quality or standard that a product needs to be for a deal on it to be posted. Maybe the headphones are good; maybe they're not that good. This is a public forum open to everyone including those new to music production, those who might not have much gear at all, and those that don't have vast amounts of money to spend on their gear. As with all deals, everyone is able to choose whether to take advantage of the deal, or to let it pass. Just because a product may (or may not) be inferior to some gear that you already own, it doesn't mean that a deal on it doesn't deserve to be posted here.
  17. Choosing the type of pencil would be like answering an existential question: 2B or not 2B; that is the question...
  18. Just an observer/layman's opinion, but you might be able to get it on subscription soon
  19. I wonder if this means that the Summer of Sound is imminent?
  20. Does Cthulhu ever go on sale (e.g. Black Friday)? or does Xfer Records have a no-discount policy?
  21. Sure it does - wait long enough and those points will expire...
  22. Or go nuts - feed the output of Riffer into Chordjam and see what comes out 🤪
  23. Are you doing an impression of a dial-up modem connecting? 😁
  24. Looks like they have a pick-your-own-bundle scheme: Bundle of 10 SuperCabinet Libraries: € 149.00 Bundle of 3 SuperCabinet Libraries: € 49.00 Not sure if they'll discount these during sales, or whether or not you'll get a discount on future purchases (e.g. like with GEMs/Rematrix libs)
