Hi John

I hope you've been well mate.

This is really cool - you're stuff always reminds me of Donald Fagen.

Hi Daryl!  Great to see you back.  I've been successful (knock on wood) so far in eluding the dreaded "C" word.  Came close but managed to keep healthy so far.

Your compliment is of the highest order.  I love the Nightfly!

First impression for me was Tony Bennett backed up with a Big Band. Really.
This is a different vocal approach for you John, like there's more flair or pizzazz, something like that.
Whatever, I think it works very well.  Great lyrics and orchestration as usual.

Gonna have to agree with my primate Daryl on this one.

John,

Good track, you did a fantastic job on the backing track too.   Like the transitions from blues to a jazzy swing style.  Horns are convincing too which is no easy task.    Well done.

Thanks so much, @markno999The horns took me days between the arrangement and then the mix.  I appreciate your mentioning it.

I think maybe this is your strongest tune John.
Very well done, solid in every respect.

t

tiny, tiny little crit; the first Can, in the first Can you see your way... , is barely audible.
Too much de-es on the C?
