HELP! PRV Snap Resolution not working!!
scook replied to Corey McNulty's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
To use the PRV snap settings, the snap button ("A" in the image below) in the snap module in the control bar must be enabled. Note: the image shows snap off. -
That would be the manual activation process documented on page 6 of the user guide pdf installed with the plug-in. By default the documentation is installed in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Z3TA+ 2\Documentation" It is repeated on the old Cakewalk website https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013384/Offline-Activation#Z3TA

Racing the clock - could use guidance on a fade out gain question
scook replied to Robert Bone's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Automate the gain knob. May want to add a limiter to make drawing the automation a little easier. Depending on how (the curve of the fade) and what (changes to the mix, reverb, etc) was done during the fade, it may sound strange. -
This is covered in the documentation http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Mixing.13.html#1750532 CbB always records the signal at the track input. To record after the ProChannel and FX rack use a patch point to connect the output or a send to another audio track or create an aux track and route the output or send to it. I would use a pre-fader send and also record the original track to have the dry signal just in case.

Blue Cat's free gain plug-ins can do plus or minus 60 dB -
Yeah append instrument is a relatively new function. Of course the extra MIDI track in the appended instrument track is not necessary if all the MIDI data is in the original instrument track.

Plug-in out 7 is the 7th stereo pair. In the audio input that is 13+14
-
There are 12 stereo pairs. Pair #2 is made of 3+4 out.
-
It is as easy as this video shows: add an audio track set the track input set the output in the synth BTW, it does not matter if the synth output change or the audio track is done first.

Blue Tubes Oilcan Echo FREE with Purchase at Don't Crack
scook replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
SONAR also included the BlueVerb DRV-2080 which is not part of the current Blue Tubes Bundle. The plug-in is sold separately. -
If you have any of their commercial plug-ins look in your account for a custom full bundle price.

It is easier to add the tracks when adding the plug-in but not necessary. Additional audio and MIDI tracks may be added at any time and pointed to a synth.

Installing software on external drives is a bad idea. If the directory junction for "C:\Cakewalk Content" was made correctly and "C:\Cakewalk Content" opens as expected, the error message may mean there is a permissions issue creating folders on the external drive. Not sure what this means Directory junctions in the post you quoted eliminates the need to change preferences in CbB.

SessionDrummer has 12 stereo outputs. The outputs are at the bottom of each channel in the mixer. Set the channels as desired and add audio tracks for each of the audio outs used by the plug-in. Open the plug-in use and use F1 to bring up the help. Maybe this video will help too. I've queued it up to the mixer page part.

What you need is separate audio outs from the drum plug-in. This works with one or more MIDI tracks. However, some drum plug-ins have only one stereo out. If the drum plug-in is stereo only, you can use "Split Notes To Tracks.CAL" to break out the MIDI data into separate tracks and use each track to drive different instances of the drum plug-in. You will need also need extra audio tracks for each install of the drum plug-in. It is also possible to leave all the MIDI in one track and use a drum map to point to multiple plug-ins. It will still be necessary to have an audio per plug-in.

I prefer the name used in the documentation Add Track menu Instrument tab. Asking for the Instrument tab to have more of the Insert Soft Synth Options dialog options is not a new request. It was requested around the time of the addition of the menu to SONAR.

The plug-in must be there because it is listed in the scan log it loads in old projects The plug-in is not an effect so it will not be listed in plug-in effects list. It is a synth so should be listed in any of the "Sort by" plug-in layouts for synths. If you are using a custom layout for synths, the plug-in may need to be added to the layout using the Plug-in Manager. By default, CbB displays plug-ins using names manufacturers assign in the plug-in files. Sometimes this name is not what one expects. There is an option to change the names displayed in plug-in layouts. This option is set using the VSTPlugInNameFormat in Preferences > File > Initialization File. This preference page is normally empty. To set the option to use the plug-in dll file name: Enter VSTPluginNameFormat in the Option entry, Enter 1 in the Value entry, click the Set button, restart CbB.

Use Cakewalk Web Installer instead of BA.
