Yeah, and when you do that make sure you record live instruments and have a whole mixes worth of about 25 tracks too. Make sure you mix it on those cheap-***** laptop speakers too and see how well it translates.

Harmonisation (either manually or VST)
Byron Dickens replied to Mark Baker's topic in Instruments & Effects
Just play the melody in one pass and the harmony in another. Requires 0 downloads and 0 minutes of editing. Sounds 1000 times better. -
BURN THE HERETIC!

You never know. My old place had a big bay window. I stood in it and my guitar sounded GLORIOUS. So naturally I thought I'd stick a mike in there to capture some of that sonic heaven. But when I played it back it sounded like pure canine fecal matter. Bigger room just might sound better, though.

You do know that's the law, right?

Only disagreement I have is that if you don't have an audio interface that supports ASIO, you need to get one. Stay away from ASIO4ALL. It tends to be problematic.

Cakewalk not finding an amp plugin
Byron Dickens replied to tfontenot's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Probably not the problem, but there is no need to add any of the subfolders to your scan paths. I couldn't even find a link for that VST. -
Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is a law firm. Gibson Brands, Inc manufactures and markets musical instruments and related stuff. The word "Gibson" is the only thing they have in common.

Um, what makes you think that Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP has anything to do with Gibson Brands, Inc?

And you said you didn't believe in God....?

Beat me to it!

Cakewalk is not really intended as a live performance tool. You would be better off using a VST host that is designed for the purpose. I think you can probably set up your keyboard controller to do what you want

No audio from line in with Sonar Platinum
Byron Dickens replied to Jean Claude's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Point taken. If weak, anemic and noisy is your aesthetic, go for it. And had line level outs, no doubt. -
VST Scan Extremely Slow On 2 Computers - SOLVED
Byron Dickens replied to Lee Jackson's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Which brings me back to my first question: why are you scanning your vsts over and over? Once they've been scanned, there's no need to do it again. If this is a Cakewalk issue, then how come you're the only one reporting it?- 17 replies

No audio from line in with Sonar Platinum

Not to mention you WILL NOT get a decent sound plugging a bass or guitar into that 1/8" input. -

1: Its well past time to update to CbB 2:Its well past time to get a proper audio interface with proper ASIO drivers. 3: Only disagreement I have is that if you don't have an audio interface that supports ASIO, you need to get one. Stay away from ASIO4ALL. It tends to be problematic -
I got plenty enough messy already between arthritis and mangling several instruments...?

That's fine.
