  1. Now I know you're full of s***. Cool Edit got bought out by Adobe in 2003 and renamed Audition.
  2. I guess RTFM is a waste of time too.
  3. Oh, no. I hope it isn't one of those garbage USB guitar cables. I didn't think of that. PS: Beat ya to it!
  4. https://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/ 30% off everything. Among other things, they have the old E-mu and Ensoniq sound banks. The company is run by one of the guys involved in the original development.
  5. Also make sure to completely uninstall ASIO4ALL!
  6. First thing is you should be using the ASIO driver that Focusrite supplies. You also don't say much about your computer. Laptop? Desktop? What brand? Some are much worse than others about loading them up with bloatware that hogs resources. You gotta uninstall all that crap.
  7. File> Open> [Folder]> [File name]. Just like every other Windows app in existence. http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Introduction.23.html#
  8. Yes, you are missing something. Cakewalk and the BandLab app are two entirely different things.
  9. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve Pay very close attention to the system requirements or you will NOT have a good experience.
  10. I think you both know what I'm getting at. They are an invaluable aid in editing but it is a bit overblown to have such consternation over their aesthetics. I, for one, am not prejudiced. The content of their character is how I judge them, not the color of their skin.
  11. And, this coolsoft thing appears to be some sort of replacement for the MS wavetable. There's only about 935,632 better software synthesizers available....
  12. I am trying to comp a multitrack drum part. Is there any way to simultaneously select across multiple tracks? It doesn't seem to work; I would have expected to be able to select across multiple take lanes on multiple tracks the same way as on "regular" tracks.
  13. Richie Faulkner and Glenn Tipton are both Powerball users, if that helps any.
  14. Being a big Iron Maiden fan, I actually want that clackety noise. Steve Harris gets that with flatwounds and fingers. I'm not him; roundwounds and a pick is the best I can do.
  15. First thing I do when things go weird is close CbB and then turn my interface off and back on. In the rare instance things are still weird I reboot.
  16. Nope. You have to have the MIDI track pointed to a VSTi and the output of the VSTi pointed to an audio track. Sounds complicated but the way RBH described it this is quite transparent to the user. "Input echo" is so you can monitor your playing in real time.
