  1. Frankly, I think they should be more forthright and honest about what is really needed to get good results rather than pushing what you can "get by" with.
  2. Perhaps. I think I would have the track recorded quicker. The proper interface solves both of those issues in one swipe. A real ASIO driver and no Bluetooth. Except for fiddle-f***ing around with latency, clicks and pops and ASIO4ALL bandaids.... Shouldn't have any trouble dropping another $100 on a proper interface. I want to head off the troubles before they begin. "Ultimate excellence lies not in winning every battle, but in defeating the enemy without ever fighting." Sun Tzu Friendly sparring. This might go down better with a beer to chase it. I don't like to recommend suboptimal solutions when I know a better one is within reach. By far the most audio issues of all kinds I see are people using the onboard chip or some substandard interface with ASIO4ALL instead of a proper driver. Very little from people who have a decent interface. So of course I go in that direction. ?
  3. I didn't know they even made hard drives that small any more.
  4. I would never argue with anyone who said that music was the best part of going to church!
  5. Just make sure whoever you pick carries his gun in a good holster instead of leaving it laying around! ?
  6. I didn't move s***. The OP never said anything about not wanting to record anything until much later. If anyone moved any goalposts it was him. You should have figured out by now that everything I say is predicated on getting high quality the simplest way you can do it. Even if you were working 100% ITB, the converters and a real audio interface are going to be way better than the ones on your onboard chip. Also decent monitors don't come with a 1/8" stereo plug. Even if you're using headphones, the converters.... Besides, why artificially impose the limitation on yourself? You could one day get the wild idea that a live shaker or hand claps is the only thing between your latest EDM masterpiece and perfection. Or you might meet a beautiful woman with a beautiful singing voice.
  7. Yeah, and when you do that make sure you record live instruments and have a whole mixes worth of about 25 tracks too. Make sure you mix it on those cheap-***** laptop speakers too and see how well it translates.
  8. Just play the melody in one pass and the harmony in another. Requires 0 downloads and 0 minutes of editing. Sounds 1000 times better.
  9. You never know. My old place had a big bay window. I stood in it and my guitar sounded GLORIOUS. So naturally I thought I'd stick a mike in there to capture some of that sonic heaven. But when I played it back it sounded like pure canine fecal matter. Bigger room just might sound better, though.
  10. You do know that's the law, right?
  11. Only disagreement I have is that if you don't have an audio interface that supports ASIO, you need to get one. Stay away from ASIO4ALL. It tends to be problematic.
  12. Run up unsustainable amounts of debt and then declare bankruptcy. ?

  14. Probably not the problem, but there is no need to add any of the subfolders to your scan paths. I couldn't even find a link for that VST.
  15. Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is a law firm. Gibson Brands, Inc manufactures and markets musical instruments and related stuff. The word "Gibson" is the only thing they have in common.
  16. Um, what makes you think that Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP has anything to do with Gibson Brands, Inc?
  17. And you said you didn't believe in God....?
  18. Really? You must have reading comprehension issues because your bitch was answered in those posts. One of them was by a Cakewalk staff member. Just how many people have to tell you to use the new web installer and give you a link before you get it?
  19. Cakewalk is not really intended as a live performance tool. You would be better off using a VST host that is designed for the purpose. I think you can probably set up your keyboard controller to do what you want
