Snowflake. Maybe I realized you did offer a suggestion. My mistake. But you do seem to follow me around taking a an awful lot of offense to comments I make to other people.

Which I did. Fighting with 32bit abandonware just isn't something I consider productive. But then, I'm more interested in making music than conquering IT challenges. Thus my solution is to ditch it and move on. I am woefully not well informed regarding chiptune music and the subtleties and intricate nuances of the genre so am unable to discern what might be considered authentic or not. Therefore I shall refrain from making any specific recommendation other than "Don't waste time with 32bit abandonware," which is something I can do with confidence.

I'm going on the assumption that the OP has internet access and knows how to use a browser. Should I go over to his house and install it for him too? Good God! My advice is to not waste time fighting with 32bit abandonware. Maybe you need to be less sensitive on others' behalf. He's a big boy. I'm sure he can find something suitable.

I seriously doubt the Bakers are going to waste any effort into getting 32bit abandonware working. If you just can't live without crappy 80's video game sounds there must be some 64 bit VSTs out there that do work.

multi channel midi routing from a single insrtument

Why would you need to hack this?

It is not a bug. That plugin is 32bit abandonware last updated in 2007. Ditch it and move on. Not worth the trouble.

Need help mic'ing snare from underneath
Byron Dickens replied to Skeptik's topic in Production Techniques
Engineers who use a bottom mike on the snare spend a lot of time and effort to get the positioning correct. I have gotten good results from using a modified version of the Recorderman technique. https://www.wikiaudio.org/recorderman-technique/ I moved the OH mikes farther away b/c I'm afraid of whacking one of my AKG 170s. I think that also makes the cymbals less drastic if I get too excited. -
I had no idea. I've been using my Focusrite 18i20 for years. Parts of these discussions should be collated and made a sticky.
-
Frankly, I think they should be more forthright and honest about what is really needed to get good results rather than pushing what you can "get by" with.

Perhaps. I think I would have the track recorded quicker. The proper interface solves both of those issues in one swipe. A real ASIO driver and no Bluetooth. Except for fiddle-f***ing around with latency, clicks and pops and ASIO4ALL bandaids.... Shouldn't have any trouble dropping another $100 on a proper interface. I want to head off the troubles before they begin. "Ultimate excellence lies not in winning every battle, but in defeating the enemy without ever fighting." Sun Tzu Friendly sparring. This might go down better with a beer to chase it. I don't like to recommend suboptimal solutions when I know a better one is within reach. By far the most audio issues of all kinds I see are people using the onboard chip or some substandard interface with ASIO4ALL instead of a proper driver. Very little from people who have a decent interface. So of course I go in that direction. ?

if i uninstall bandlab do i lose my account or any uploaded songs?
Byron Dickens replied to niko's question in Q&A
I didn't know they even made hard drives that small any more. -
I would never argue with anyone who said that music was the best part of going to church!

Just make sure whoever you pick carries his gun in a good holster instead of leaving it laying around! ?

I didn't move s***. The OP never said anything about not wanting to record anything until much later. If anyone moved any goalposts it was him. You should have figured out by now that everything I say is predicated on getting high quality the simplest way you can do it. Even if you were working 100% ITB, the converters and a real audio interface are going to be way better than the ones on your onboard chip. Also decent monitors don't come with a 1/8" stereo plug. Even if you're using headphones, the converters.... Besides, why artificially impose the limitation on yourself? You could one day get the wild idea that a live shaker or hand claps is the only thing between your latest EDM masterpiece and perfection. Or you might meet a beautiful woman with a beautiful singing voice.

Yeah, and when you do that make sure you record live instruments and have a whole mixes worth of about 25 tracks too. Make sure you mix it on those cheap-***** laptop speakers too and see how well it translates.

Harmonisation (either manually or VST)
Byron Dickens replied to Mark Baker's topic in Instruments & Effects
Just play the melody in one pass and the harmony in another. Requires 0 downloads and 0 minutes of editing. Sounds 1000 times better. -
BURN THE HERETIC!

You never know. My old place had a big bay window. I stood in it and my guitar sounded GLORIOUS. So naturally I thought I'd stick a mike in there to capture some of that sonic heaven. But when I played it back it sounded like pure canine fecal matter. Bigger room just might sound better, though.

You do know that's the law, right?
