  1. I hear ya. A bass does things no keyboard can. At least you could get by while you look for someone. "...piano/string/organ/synth parts - which often require two hands by themselves...." That sounds like some damn finel arranging skill. I have yet to figure out how to cram two-handed keyboard parts into two guitars, bass, drums and vocals without simply doubling the bass or it turning into a mess.
  2. It looks like both of your MIDI inputs are the same device. That might not be the problem, but I'm pretty sure that's not right The multiple outputs shown for the Realtek are puzzling. I only know enough German to get myself into trouble and not enough to get myself out, but it looks like you have "show mono outputs" selected. I'm guessing this is showing what amounts to two stereo pairs; Cakewalk shows no change to My Focusrite when I select different options. Perhaps that you have all the outputs selected is the issue. Try selecting only one pair.
  3. Got one more pick to make. @InstrEdReally enjoying my new keyboard! Its a Korg Minilogue. Gotcha!
  4. You're a keyboard player, right? A real keyboard player? Put that left hand to use! ?
  5. Did you select "Manual Scan" in the drop-down box? And what are your scan paths? You're not scanning your entire computer are you?
  6. I get in trouble when I tell people that ASIO4ALL is garbage, so I won't tell you that ASIO4ALL is garbage. With the onboard sound, you should be using the WASAPI driver. You sure aren't going to get a decent interface for 13 Euros. You're probably better off sticking with the Realtek chip.
  7. That's wrong. Your interface is where sound goes into and comes out of the computer. Your headphones and/ or speakers need to be plugged in to the interface, not the laptop. I guarantee that Tascam tells you that if you had bothered to look at the documentation.
  8. Um, I don't know. Maybe go into the preferences dialogue and change the VST scan settings. Took all of two minutes to find it in the documentation.
  9. You're worried that firing the bass player might destroy your band? Keeping him WILL!
  10. Yeah I see that. You said you have to plug in your headphones in order to hear anything. How are you expecting to hear anything without the headphones plugged in?
  11. What speakers do you have hooked up to the interface?
  12. You can change that in the preferences.
  13. Get rid of him. Fire him. Now. This will not get better. Everything you need to know is right here. Ditch him now. Find a replacement later.
  14. I did miss the Bluetooth bit, but a proper interface would eliminate that. ?
  15. That's exactly why I made that crack. If the OP is crying about Windows, he don't know how good he got it.
  16. Why do you keep scanning your VSTs over and over?
  17. Cakewalk is not meant to be a live performance mixer.
  18. ^^^^^^^ Shameless shill
  19. I think if you have something to sell, you should post in the deals forum and be honest about what you're doing.
  20. It's always a lot simpler to handle this sort of thing in pre-production.
  21. There's still two days left.
  22. You could switch to Apple....
  23. My thoughts? There is no reason to be in a hurry to jump off the deep end just yet. They call it the cutting edge because you can bleed to death. On the other hand, I found I am a lot happier living in the world of what is rather than the world of what if. Things evolve. You have to evolve as well or go extinct.
  24. Only disagreement I have is that if you don't have an audio interface that supports ASIO, you need to get one. Stay away from ASIO4ALL. It tends to be problematic
