1st scenario: With Enabled and Controller selected, sound and recording stop once the pedal is activated, so there is no track data to play back. 2nd scenario: Mine is set to Computer and Key and have never had issues, so I assume this is the default.

So what was the fix? Or did I miss that?

My experience mentioned above has occurred for 20+ years even with standard equipment. I'd like to know exactly what's happening with the OP when his mouse is no longer functionable.
-
I assume you're hitting "Spacebar" then "W", and that works. The OP wants to "stop" transport and RTZ by hitting STOP, or "Spacebar", 2x. When selecting Track View > Options > On Stop, Rewind to Now you only need to hit STOP, or "Spacebar", 1x to RTZ. Then when you want to "pause" or "stop" at end of transport, use "Ctrl+Spacebar". As mentioned, when you deselect Track View > Options > On Stop, Rewind to Now, those actions are reversed.

@IndieDev 1. As far as I can tell, Spacebar is reserved for Start/Stop only. 2. They have to be selected manually so select as many as you like. 3. Default recording mode is Comping which MUTES overlapping clips when recording. You can 1. open Take Lanes and unmute them ("K") before recording or 2. set Record Mode to Sound On Sound. 4. CbB has no idea what you want to do when selecting a track. 9/10 time I want to play/edit, not record. Would hate having to unarm a track every time I select it. @Will_Kaydo If you're accomplishing RTZ by hitting Space 2x, I'd like to know how.

The cursor disappears when click-dragging any fader, knob & etc. eg. Fader all the way down. Click-drag all the way up. Cursor disappears while fader moves up. Release mouse click and cursor still at the bottom. Apparently by design so their movement is unobstructed as the cursor can sometimes get in the way of what's going on.

Or how about... dynamic track strips? Some DAWs allow for the rearranging of track modules to create custom signal flows.

ProChannel isn't just a pretty face on a dolled up FX bin. It basically replaced the EQ section of a track channel with far more versatility.

Yes. Save regularly while working. Also, Save As a copy at days end because, tho very rare, it IS possible for a project to completely disappear when certain crashes happen.
-
Not sure, but if not you can add a dead note or CC at each end to maintain length when bouncing.

Where are the instrument def that were on the old forum?

Cakewalk Utilities maintained by "Elffin" has a few. -
Looking for a VST that allows to hold on a note
sjoens replied to sergedaigno's topic in Instruments & Effects
Yes. However, the Hold (TAB) key requires a key stroke for each ON and each OFF. Would be better if it was a "momentary" switch - press down for ON & release for OFF like a pedal. -
SI instrument sustain is working as expected with my pedal controller here. Not all MIDI devices behave the same. 1st try changing your Input to the Focusrite > Midi Ch. 1 instead of All. If no change, disconnect the 2nd keyboard and try playing the SI-EP using only the Roland & pedal. Then vise versa using only the 2nd keyboard & pedal MIDIed directly into the Focusrite. One minor "bug" I notice with all keyboarded SI instruments is the GUI's inconsistent key velocity when playing with a mouse. Velocity increases the closer you click/play to the front of a key - softer as you go towards the back of a key. White keys play - as expected Black keys play - not as expected. Since black keys are half the length of white keys they can't reach full velocity with the mouse. Apparently a one-velocity-range-for-all-keys approach is being used. Addictive Keys suffers the same.

Set up your controller in Preferences MIDI then select it and only it in the track Input. Not a fan of using All Inputs when recording MIDI but occasionally CbB/Sonar likes to select them all.

Gotcha. Since they're only file libraries it won't hurt to leave older ones intact in the event some app may need them, tho.

inspector looks different in some projects

As mentioned, hover your mouse over the Inspector and scroll up or down with the wheel to find hidden areas. Works in Console View also. -

feature request Feature Request - Great additions to CbB
sjoens replied to NForced's topic in Feedback Loop
Double left click does this also with Smart tool. Right click notes opens menu. Use Draw tool for one click repeat notes. Touch any note (cursor changes to glue bottle) to duplicate it's size on next note drawn. -
You have to set up your sound source in Preferences. Then you will see Hardware Outputs (E) to the far right in Console View.

Interesting. Just did a search if ok to remove older ones and found most recommend not to. Maybe older apps need them? I donno. Will reinstall the latest for kicks.
-
Appears I have the latest and always have. Don't they install with CbB? Seems they did with Sonar. I have 25 versions plus "Tools for applications" dating 2022 back to 2005.

Yep. How often do I end up with a sliver so small I can't see it, save for the dots. But if someone wants 'em gone, who am I to ask why??

Just opened a fresh instance of CbB, clicked File. clicked New, clicked Basic, clicked OK. CbB started to open the new project then disappeared off screen without a trace. It did the same a few hours before after working a while in another project. This happens occasionally without warning for no apparent reason at any time in any place.
