  1. I reported this awhile ago. Apparently there is a problem when Melodyne 4 is invoked in a project for the 1st time. Like John, when it happens I just click the clip and it appears in Melodyne.

    MIDI Track Mute Q?

My thought was the controller is sending data thru the track and then "out" to the synth so the Mute should stop it from doing that. But that's not how it works, I guess.

    MIDI Track Mute Q?

Thanks guys. In this case there is no Audio track. I guess I was expecting a MIDI track's Mute to mute no matter what. From what I've read Sonar/Cakewalk is using Input Echo as a MIDI track Mute. Is there a MIDI track flow chart like the one for Audio? I haven't found one yet.

    MIDI Track Mute Q?

When triggered by an outboard controller thru a MIDI interface with no internal routing... Muting a MIDI track feeding a soft synth will mute the synth. So, shouldn't muting a MIDI track feeding an outboard synth also mute that synth? Seems like it should since Cakewalk is routing all MIDI. Instead, Input Echo must be used to mute it.
  5. Noted anomaly for page 33/34 Track view / Track Pane / Menu Button: All 3 use the same button but the Input/Output buttons are displayed squished by 2 pixels in height The theme button labeled "Edit Filter" is actually the Custom Button Display button at the top of the Track Pane.
  6. Can be frustrating for sure. Clicking anywhere within a clip will highlight it. Click an empty spot above or below a clip, below the last track, or in the timeline itself.
  7. Would be nice but not available. Appears the played color is a variation of the key color, which is changeable. Download Collin's PDF in the Themes forum. It shows the items currently known to be changeable.
  8. Cakewalk remembers the last saved Screenset or Workspace. Screensets are per project, Workspaces are global.
  9. Why not put the entire Windows/System32/Drivers folder there? BTW, I've excluded every Cakewalk folder I can find. Even so, Key bindings is still slowing Prefs down upon opening.
  10. Save & close the altered project and reopen it. If still an issue. since you've removed the synth in question, I'd start a new project with the piano vsti and drag or copy/paste the MIDI clip to it. If that solves the issue the original and altered projects may be corrupted.
  11. Add a DELETE button to the Marker Module. While you're at it, make double-click name changing available there too.
  12. Thanks. I removed the DLLs and reinstalled thru Native Access.
  13. I updated Kontakt 5 to the lastest 5.8.1 thru Native Access. The standalone EXE file updated fine. The plugin DLL files did not update at all except for the AAX files in the Avid folder. How do I get NI to update the DLL's?
  14. BitBridge Server Configuration can support up to 32 servers but the Preferences dropdown only shows 16?
  15. All Multidock/Inspector/Browser views can be individually floated. Multidock tabs can be double clicked or simply hit "D" to open full screen, then again to return to a shared screen.
  16. You could also try a different VSTi on the same MIDI track which can eliminate one or both of those two. When playing mid stream, pitch wheel events will also wreak havoc on note tuning when MIDI Events Chace on Play is not checked in Prefs, Random or not, I'd also check the Event List for erroneous data. - I've recorded outboard sequencer tracks into CbB only to find a host of unwanted MIDI data.
  17. In my cases visual & audible corruption occurs, thus the need to undo &/or bounce.
  18. When editing audio clips under certain circumstances, the content can become corrupted to the point I have to undo a series of edits and start over. Bouncing between edits seems to help.
  19. or google 'cakewalk video'. there's tons of 'em out there.
  20. Are you asking to stretch the main window across both screens with both views open? Currently TV & CV cannot be open full screen in the same window. Split screen, yes. You can put both Inspector & Browser to left of Multidock so CV is on the right, but TV must be toggled. FWIW I dock Multidock at top as docking at bottom seems way more difficult to manage other views where I want them.
  21. Could be he/she tried entering notes on the fretboard and it didn't work for him/her. He/she may now be scratching his/her head because after trying it again it does work. No doubt he/she still maintains this would be/is cool. FWIW, mirroring the fret board only flips it top to bottom, not giving lefties the same point-of-view righties enjoy: Mirror Fretboard - Inverts Fretboard so highest-sounding string appears at the bottom. Flipping it left to right might be more advantageous to lefties, but he/she probably isn't left handed and so may not be completely sure about that. His/her comment was probably just a passing thought as he/she was checking out the Staff View which he/she said he/she never uses. Of course, I... er, he/she could be totally wrong about all this. ?
