Groove clip looping not working ( for me!)
sjoens replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Nice. Actually... all 4 corners are beveled on a groove clip. -
1 & 2. My settings were maintained. No issue here. 3. I've noted the CV text in another thread.
-
Logging into BandLab is straight forward when done thru CbB's menu. Seems people here either have this issue or don't and won't be able to help. Only other thing that may not have been mentioned yet is to run CbB as administrator before logging into BL. Otherwise I would contact BandLab https://help.bandlab.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404926548121-How-do-I-contact-BandLab

Groove clip looping not working ( for me!)

Options: 1. Right-click the clip and select Groove-Clip Looping (this also checks the Inspector box shown in Glenn's post). Once you see the corners turn beveled you can drag the clip out as far as you want. 2. Click the Draw Tool dropdown and select Pattern. Now left-click the clip to select it and hold the cursor at the end of the clip until it turns into a paint roller. Now click and drag as far as you want. -
Not Liking the look of the New Sonar Interface
sjoens replied to mark foster's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Changing text and line colors can add a lot to the readability and contrast of a UI. This should be fairly easy to do with Sonar as was done in the pre-X series Sonar 4 thru 8.5... (edit): in Preferences>Customization>Colors. -
Exactly. It just came on that day and didn't happen the day before or since... so far. But when I said: "without loading a thing" I mean no template, no plugins, no nuthin', so I'm inclined to think there is/was something else going on under the OS hood that Sonar/Cakewalk is sensitive to. Since I have been using the same plugin set forever, I'm not so inclined to blame one of them each time it happens, especially when none are involved. Before re-installing Windows, older Dimension versions (1.2 & 1.3) were notorious for crashing Sonar/Cakewalk for no understandable reason. After reinstalling Windows and everything else, the projects will open but Dimension gets listed as "missing" when in fact it is available. (Maybe because the registry is misreporting the dll's actual location - I hope I can fix that) Older BREVERB also used to crash CbB instantly. After a fresh Windows reinstall for some reason it just creates a repeating beep like it's in demo mode. This IS understandable as Overloud disabled it and released a different version when Gibson pulled the plug (pun?), then rereleased another one when BandLab took over. Using the latest versions of these plugins solves the problem.

Just a note that although many sf2's can be converted to sfz's without incident, they are two different formats and some sf2's WILL not convert accurately or 100% so they may not sound quite the same as the original sf2. It really depends on how complex the sf2 is. There are sf2 players out there if the format needs to be preserved.

I believe it was an older version of BREVERB2 that was decommissioned by Overloud... so it might be in permanent demo mode. Reinstalling the latest version thru CbB fixed it.

+1. Same goes for Inspector & Browser. What would they use, tho? Expand <>, could be >> or |> for Inspector & << or <| for Browser. Collapse ><, could be << or <| for Inspector & >> or |> for Browser. -
New "Add Track" dialog - "instrument track per output" is always grayed out?

Me 2 -
So... all my Sonitus plugins are dated 2/15/2016. Is that the latest offering?

Works fine here in 2024.03 b381 with TTS-1 as default or selected otherwise. # of reported outputs is also correct in Sonar but not the latest CbB (see screenshot above). -

Different font with more padding. This and some text is smaller than CbB text. Your screenshot makes the new buttons look smaller but they're the same size. I'd like to see Less Padding - More Words! -
Thanks Promidi, looks tempting.

ATM but I'll be weaning away from it this year as I clear out all the older projects. Then I'll consider upgrading. Thanks. Misspoke, I have Editor, not Studio, which is $99.
-
It will. Melodyne is not tandem version friendly. One replaces the other and I passed on the $25 upgrade cause v5 has no 32 bit. Mistake I'm sure. Curious if the requirement is listed somewhere as I haven't been able to find it.
-
v4. Do I need v5?
-
Yes. It works fine in CbB, just not at all in Sonar. I'm seeing no minidumps for Sonar either.

Composite theme-shot: Right-click and open in new tab then magnify. -
Edit: Melodyne 4 does not work at all in Sonar. Audio to MIDI, audio to Time Line, Region FX, nothing. It is listed as a Region FX and when selecting it you see the Transport window displays the processing bar, but then nothing happens. Melodyne Studio Editor License current and working fine in CbB.

All but the fab-four remain untouched. And has no one noticed Concrete Limiter is now a free module? Or noticed the Bus Compressor no longer has the "secret" blue face or the "screw" that reveals it? But you can still make the needle flinch by clicking on it. BTW, You can "update" the CL UI yourself in the Resources folder. -
Found the BREVERB solution. Had an older version installed.

Now having a similar issue with BREVERB2. After awhile BREVERB starts beeping nonstop: breverb beep.mp3
