  1. That's because the 2 are unrelated on that level. The OP was about why this didn't happen. I was explaining how to update the note data. Event list only reports note data, not track settings. If you want note data to change with the track setting, it has to be done manually in PRV, Event List, or Event Inspector. However, as mentioned, the entire track is governed by Track Channel # assignment no matter the note's channel # ... unless the assignment is "None". Change it in the Inspector or Track Header Output Channel dropdown, or "widget" as some call it, as you did. Note channels are part of the note, like velocity, and are changed in Event List, PRV right-clicking the note, or by selecting all notes and changing them in the Control Bar Event Inspector module. However, no matter the note channel, all notes will play on the channel set in the Track's Output Channel dropdown.
  2. It's in the main Cakewalk folder as Cakewalk.chm. .... was recently updated and every page footer has links to the PDF, online help, online Support, and this forum.
  3. My synths and controller are connected to an ill-fated micro lite via 5 pin din, which is connected via USB 2 thru a USB 3 jack in the laptop. From there it's anyone's guess what happens. I did as Promidi said and turned off everything in Devices from being turned off. We'll see if that helps.
  4. Sometimes I just "select" the track number to highlight all clips/notes and change the MIDI channel in the CB Event Inspector module. This should also update the Event List. To go along with John's comment, if 2 tracks go to the same synth, the channel and sound they play is determined by the track header Output assignment channel, not the note channel. Event List only reports note and event channels. Note and event data can be on any or multiple channels within the track but will still play as expected.
  5. Thanks, I know about initial startup. Could be the sleep setting as it sometimes happens mid stream after everything's been working already.
  6. But it's fun??? It happens since I have a lot of old projects. Also why I keep 32 bit apps installed. Just need to keep them away from CbB.
  7. For some reason CbB will sometimes drop connection to my outboard synths and controller and won't respond to any action from them. Even so, CbB still sees when I turn the Controller on and off, but that's it. A complete reboot of the system is needed to regain it. Could be CbB, the MIDI interface, or Windows USB.
  8. Celemony! I've had to deactivate and reactivate the same computer a time or 2, so it can be confusing. ASAIK he has Melodyne Assistant 5 which should be good-to-go. The only issues with Melodyne on Win11 is older 64 bit versions won't work. Older 32 bit does work but there is no 32 bit v5.... Know that incase you need 32 bit and upgrade to v5, because you can't have both versions installed.

  10. Or maybe it's a conflict between Sonar and CbB when saving. Most of you know better. But there's always one who's gonna do it anyway. Open 32 bit Sonar project 1.cwp in CbB and save it as 2.cwp. Now it's a 64 bit project. Open 2.cwp in 32 bit Sonar and save it again as 3.cwp. 3.cwp is now corrupted. Even tho newer features can be lost in translation, the basics should be intact. Right? Maybe not... 1. In one project the outputs got crossed and the Inspector is confused what to display for output: Inspector: Here Onyx 2 is being displayed as Onyx 1 and Onyx 1 is MIA. Console View: Here the correct output is showing activity. In another instance the right meter showed activity even when the left output was selected.
  11. Thanks reginald. Didn't know about F2. Edited OP.
  12. MIDI must behave differently. It has a Move Checked Devices to Top button.
  13. Double-click manual entry is not available for Gain & Pan... and Arpeggiator controls. What if we could Double-click. Ener value. Hit enter or left-click elsewhere. Done. Left-click & F2 is available, tho. Edited for accuracy.

    Time line issue

Tho this is usually the case, I'd like to know how one got waaay down there! I often create an arranger section from song's end to as far as needed, then activate all 4 Select Module buttons, then select the arranger section and delete it.
  15. True. Not all vacs are created equal. Also depends on how much has accumulated and how much of it you want back in your face or moved to other unwanted areas. Sometimes using both together is the trick. But don't take my word for it. I also use magnetic screwdrivers.
  16. It's in post #2. You have to be signed in to download stuff.
  17. This one is rather obscure. Ask This Every Time To open the dialog box when the option is unchecked, click the Insert Soft Synth Options button in the Synth Rack view toolbar. (4th button)
  18. When you removed them from the project, did you save-as, close CbB, and reopen? Also, looks like there's no Pause key... or Print key on your keyboard, but they may be assigned to F14 & F15 as on mine.
  19. In PRV, holding the Alt key invokes the Scissor (note lower half) & Eraser (note upper half) tool cursor which are used when Left-clicking. However, holding the Alt key when Right-clicking Moves/Copies notes between tracks in PRV, but still uses the same cursors which is confusing because you're not sure what's going to happen next. Is this unavoidable because of the Alt key?
  20. You have to be signed in to download.
  21. I close it when I'm done for the day... or a changed setting (like a custom theme) requires it. My case is probably a rogue 3rd party plugin that only needs to be scanned, not loaded, to wreak havoc.
  22. So now I can't either. They may have fixed it with one of the recent updates. As I try different Paste Special settings, other odd stuff is happening, like new clips being pasted when Paste into Existing Clips was checked. But now I think it's behaving as expected, so maybe a setting was off?! Thanks for helping. While doing this I got another instance of a pasted one-note-with-full-length-clip. It only happened once so definitely some kind of bug.
  23. Always. Only thing I can figure is Lassoing selects the notes on both linked clips (which is technically not necessary since they are linked) and as a result something is being misinterpreted or conflicted in the translation. Will try to get a screenshot later.
