  1. One thing I do to help it punch through is have a bass buss, an rbass buss and an all bass buss. bass guitar goes to the bass buss with maserati bass on it set for the top end boost, then a send from that to the rbass buss with renaissance bass for the bottom and the distortion. Both go to the All Bass buss. I send about 30-40% to the RBass and on rbass accentuate around 80hz. Then if necessary, put the all bass through an 1176
  2. Hi - yes I can hear it - I can see where someone might say that though. I think maybe the acoustic guitars may be burying it a little.
  3. I asked Gemini about Windows Media Player - here's what it said. No, Windows Media Player version 12 unfortunately doesn't offer a direct way to rip songs in a lossless format like FLAC or WAV. While it allows ripping in WMA (Windows Media Audio) format, WMA itself has lossy compression. Here are some alternatives for ripping lossless audio: Freeware software: There are several free and open-source programs specifically designed for ripping CDs in lossless formats. Popular options include Exact Audio Copy (EAC) and Freac [search Exact Audio Copy] [search Freac]. Paid software: Some paid music management software like dBpoweramp CD Ripper offer advanced ripping features with lossless format support [search dBpoweramp CD Ripper]. While these options require installing additional software, they provide more control over the ripping process and ensure you get the highest quality audio files.
  4. importing the same thing as ripping as far as losslessness? I am not sure but I don't think so.
  5. Nice picking, great song, really nice mix, and the video is pro. All around winner.
  6. Great when those drum fills come in - mix is very cool. This sounds like it was a lot of fun to put together. I love when the arpeggio type notes go down one lower than you think they will.
  7. Great photo! Love that guitar sound you get.
  8. Nice bounce - powerful when that low end comes in.
  9. Weirdly wonderful! Somebody should send this message to the US Executive and Legislative branches. I think they would be surprised.
  10. Nice work - I was pleasantly surprised when the guitars/bass came in string.
  11. Great groove to this, nice guitar tones.
  12. Very nice song. I think it could use some more high end.
  13. Nice mix on this song - sounds good.
  14. Thank you for the listen and comments! Steve
  15. You guys all gave me confidence in leaving the lyrics out. Thanks for listening!
  16. Hi Bjorn thank you very much! Yes, I tried with the lyrics but it was just too much. I'm happy with the way it is now. Steve
  17. Please let us know how those work out. Do they come out as lossless, or more like mp3?
  18. Thank you for listening and providing feedback!
  19. If you are satisfied with mp3 reference tracks, you will be neglecting the higher frequencies. I don't remember for sure, but I think the same thing holds for ripped versions from CDs. Most people won't notice, particularly if you only supply mp3 versions to distribution points. But the more your ear progresses over time, the more you will notice the difference between mp3 and wav.
  20. Time to lighten up a bit Duncan. The material he is looking for can be found for free anyway. This is not the 'piracy' that is causing the losses. Better to concentrate on other major offenses.
  21. The vocals sound fine to me. It's a good sounding song. The one thing I heard in my head was something similar to the harmonica in the beginning of Sprinsteen's The River. Not necessarily on harmonica - I actually heard it in my head as a single note (rather than chords) pattern going on in the background with a bunch of reverb on it. I like the song and the production. What do you think of the new Sonar (I wasn't aware that it had been released) - do you like it, is it worth getting? Steve
