  1. Hi - I hope I am all right posting this and don't make any faux pas. I'm not always the most aware. This video has a little history in it, and it may not be politically correct whatever that is. I'm curious - I know that there's a lot of you Brits out there (that is OK to say? I know people get so offended these days and I certainly don't want to do that.). And I know there are a lot of people probably as old as me, maybe older God forbid. (again - is that alright? - geez). I'd be interested in hearing any experience you guys had during or directly after WWII. Anyway, here's the video I am going to post: https://baselines.com/?p=7086 Lies and Consequences: Youtube link as well:
  2. Hi - I am hopefully going to get the people at YouGrow to find a playlist for this song. If you have some time, could you give it a play and send it to your pals so they can help me with the number of streams? Thank you for any help!
  3. I just wanted to leave a post about Mixea - I tried it for the first time and was impressed. I passed in a song I recorded in CW and mastered in Ozone and was happy with, and it was immediately improved with the default settings. I brought the Mixea version in to Ozone 10 as a reference track and tried to match what I had done previously. The biggest differences were this: - The low mids needed a substantial cut. 300-900 range - the hi mids needed a slight boost. 2K-5K range - 900-1K needed a notch cut. - I had to match LUFs to around -10. With all these adjustment, I got pretty close, but there was still an intangible clarity. The Mixea version sounded more professional, instruments more defined in their own space. I'm going to get the yearly subscription which offers unlimited Masters for $99/year. Hopefully I can figure out exactly what I need to do to go the extra mile. Steve
  4. Thank you very much for listening and your comments. Yes I did the instruments - the piano is a little bit of a cheat though, because there are two tracks going on. Steve
  5. Hi Bjorn - the music was first and then the video - I kind of wrote the lyrics based on the video. Thanks for the feedback! Steve
  6. Hi Kevin - thank you very much! This one took some time before I got to a point where I think it is acceptable. Steve
  7. Andrew Scheps says to ignore the -14LUFs recommendation and trust your ears. I'm with him - for a long time I used -14 as a goal, but I think maybe it is not the best thing to do now.
  8. I think this fits in with a video that Nigel posted recently in some ways. I finally got around to writing lyrics which is always hard for me. I must confess to having AI help out a little, but that doesn't mean I didn't put in the time and work!!! https://baselines.com/?p=7069
  9. Cool track - I like the percussion that keeps things moving. Well done. Sounds like somebody dropped their beer bottle under the hood on the piano strings at the end - I speak from experience LOL.
  10. Wonderful track Nigel - Those police cars looked like they were travelling backward at first. Don't know if that was intended, but it sure looked cool. I liked the reflections of red/blue on the faces, and the ending fade out was a cool idea that tied it together. Of course the audio sounds excellent as it always does! Steve
  11. Worth pulling it out. I like it - I like the guitar tone in particular. and the vocal feel. Nice!
  12. I love superior drummer 3 and it works well here. I like the changeup at about 2:30, very cool.
  13. Interesting song. I like the synth section it breaks into in the middle. Mix is very good and accentuates the vocals.
  14. Very clear mix and great playing - Good work.
  15. Hi Freddy - thanks for listening - I hope your son likes it!
  16. New mix and video updates.
  17. Every once in a while I get that ugly red 'activation needed' box pop up when opening Cakewalk. I think it is in error as I seem to be up to date and already activated. Have you had this problem, or is it a valid activation needed notice? Thanks
  18. Hi Rik - thank you for listening. Steve
  19. You always get such great drum sounds. And I am jealous that you can put together original videos without having to scrounge around on youtube to get the video content - I feel bad about having to do that, but I just don't have the resources to put together my own videos. You always do a superlative job on your releases, it inspires me to try harder!
  20. Nice wide field to play around in. Plus, in tune counts for something! I saw a funny comic about that. I don't know if everyone has the g-string problems I always have on pretty much every guitar. It's a picture of a guitar with each string getting a voice bubble of 'Nice Job' except for the G string getting one saying 'Not you!'.
