Oh well; too late for me. I will just have to let my subscription expire. I'll keep this in mind, though in case the offer comes back.

Thanks. Good to know / be reminded that the default behavior for new synth insertions can be changed to "Enable MIDI Output if Available" for those users with music-making workflows that favor having it on. Since I enable it manually only in the few cases where I need it, I am glad the default option is unchecked. I have been working on some synth performance/recording modalities that might eventually make more extensive use of synth-generated MIDI. So, when the time comes and I "Set it and Forget it," It will be good to have this setting to my debugging checklist.

Too late for me, but this is good to know for people that have version 2. Maybe I am mis-remembering or maybe it was added later, but I have a memory of either being told or reading that version 2 didn't have the ability to use the FX section to process audio coming from another source. That's why I didn't get it. Thanks for the correction.

Display Scale Slider in Display Properties Visible in Sonar but Not CbB?
User 905133 replied to Stephen Power's question in Q&A
Simplest explanation: These must be new features that weren't available in CbB. At one point we were told, no new features will be added to CbB. Maybe you missed that? -
Over the years I have also had multiple MIDI notes. In all of those cases, it was due to pilot error (recording MIDI notes from multiple devices / ports / paths). For me the good thing about this issue is it can be fixed. Even once I started using CbB and had forgotten how I used to solve the problem, once I figured out the cause, the solution came back to me. In a way, it's like riding a bicycle--I still remember how, but at my age, some things are not as safe to do without taking precautions. 😉 Thanks for this tip. If I ever get the multiple notes problem again, I will add this to my diagnostics routine (if it's not something I have already been checking, but just forgot about). Just remembered: I used to have both a usb midi interface and a 5-pin din connection to my computer. So, that can also be a cause to the multiple-notes issue. Again, it's pilot error and the solution is easy--avoid recording the same midi data from multiple devices / ports (hardware and / or software). In case its not clear, I am not asking for help solving a problem; I am just trying to add some additional information in hopes that it helps others understand possible causes and solutions. Yup!!!! Been there; done that!!!!

Personally, over the years since Z3ta+ was bundled with SONAR I got more use out of the Z3ta+ 1 series than Z3ta+ 2, mainly because I used the FX version to process and control FX in real time and never bought v. 2 which lacked that ability. If whoever owns the rights to the software could / would update it and include the ability to process and control audio piped in from other sources, I would love to see if rivals (or possibly exceeds) what I used to do with v. 1.5. PS: I just successfully tested a basic project that has DimensionPro 1.5 routed through Z3ta+ 1.5's FX. Glad to see the old technology still works for some purposes.** Thanks. Clarification: Not dissing v. 2; my aim is to encourage making the abilities of the older plugins available to more users. **UPDATE: Not sure how extensively this method can be used: adding Rapture 1.5 to the test project caused a DAW crash.

Because people on the mailing list who already have an account might have seen "IMPORTANT: For new Groove3 users only" and felt bummed that it was only for new customers only? Dunno.

The file works with GM [General MIDI] synths. As @57Gregy comments, you need to route the MIDI data to a software or a hardware synth (some device that will play sounds). The file worked for me using an old Roland M-GS64 (hardware sound module) as well as an old TTS-1 softsynth.

Just saying, there are other ways to find out about deals. Almost everyone seems to be more than happy to send out e-mails. It is not that difficult to get on mailing lists, and have deals directed to a special folder. Maybe it's just me, but I find it takes less time to read through the ads / newsletters / promotions / etc. than to click on post after post after post ad nauseum. Also, there's much less trolling by people who have axes to grind. In general Cakewalk users (as well as a few others) are still posting, but it seems to be what those individuals are interested in. JMO: I do not miss all the negativity (product-bashing, manufacturer/developer-bashing, user-bashing, etc.) at all.

Oh. There's an e-mail!!! LOL

JMO: Personally, I think it's a good thing that there is a totally independent site for "Deals." They are free to spin things however they want.

I thought it was odd, too. I have MiniFreak V presets as well as Acid V presets in Analog Lab w/o owning the instruments . But I can listen to all the Synthx V instruments in the standalone Demo. Maybe that's by design--get people to try out the demo and then maybe they will buy it if they like the sounds. Maybe enabling a subset of presets in Analog Lab comes later in their marketing plans. Dunno.
-
I thought this [full version] meant that those of us who have Analog Lab Pro would have playable (but not editable) presets for Synthx V even if we have not purchased Synthx V. But unless I have done something wrong, the current update (5.10.6.5147) doesn't let Analog Lab Pro play Synthx V presets. So far as I can tell the support added is just for Synthx V purchasers. I guess full version refers to Arturia's Synthx V. Installing Synthx and activating it in Demo mode works, but even that didn't let the updated Analog Lab play Synthx V presets; synchronizing doesn't help either.

Arturia Analog Lab update issues. (Not a deal)
User 905133 replied to Vernon Barnes's topic in Instruments & Effects
I have 2.8.1.2731. Mine still does the login and synchronization, but I did not deactivate and reactivate my licenses. Is there any reason why I should (or should not) do that (deactivate/reactivate)? (Mine is dated 13 Sept. 2024.) -
Sending to Cakewalk midi track a Bank/Patch from a midi controller
User 905133 replied to remyhardy's question in Q&A
Why not just send the Bank Select / Program Change command directly to the synth in real time with MIDI Echo on? Or am I misunderstanding what you are trying to do, your setup, or the capabilities of your controller? For some software synths, I need to use the VST2 version because the VST3 version might not work with Bank Select / Program Change commands in Cakewalk. -
Good question. Also, since I have I already have Cherry Audio's Elka-X, I looked for comparison's yesterday and found this:

Just in case you think the conclusion I made was made in haste; it wasn't. I read the posts in this thread over a span of time since yesterday.

In before the lock. JMO: People who want a feature for their own personal benefit and claim they are suggesting it because everyone would want it are the ones who lack empathy. 🤷♂️

RIP. In addition to all of his other talents and accomplishments, he was brilliant in one of my all-time favorite comedy sketches: Waiting for Pardo.
